Started with a Blu....moved quickly to an ego. Have smoked for over 30 years (Now menthol ultra lights). Went to the low nicotine Vg flavors. Love vaping and the flavors. Went through a little withdrawal period, but it passed quickly. Just starting to really get into the swing of this and out of the blue my tongue started acting up. Yes, I drink lots of water. I love tea and coffee. By the third week, when I had my tea in the afternoon and evening my tongue became more dry feeling and somewhat numb and a bit painful. I realized that the tea made it worse, so I drank only water in the afternoon and evening. Yes, I'm vaping 100% vg..sometimes dilute it with a little distilled water. Am using cartomizers. Can't figure it out...don't know if I'm over-filling the cartomizers, if this is a normal reaction (heard that throat symptoms sometimes are)...my throat is fine. Read about some bad allergic reactions...this is the last thing I need. Was laid up for 6 weeks from an allergic reaction to ibuprofin 2 years ago and can no longer take anything with ibuprofin or aspirin in it. Started back on analogs this afternoon. I hate this......I want to vape. Do I just tough it out and hope that the tongue gets better on its own? I've read until I'm blue in the face on this subject. The e liquid I've been using is from Blue Mist 8mg nicotine (smooth, coffee & cream, cherry tobacco, and Ry4). No, I don't chain vape. Everything was going so well. Yes, I want everyone to feel sorry for me.:(:(

Oh, that is awful. Maybe it's the flavoring - you can develop an allergy to anything. And maybe it doesn't have anything to do with vaping. Try rinsing your mouth out with hydrogen peroxide (dilute it with water) - let if foam up for a while before you rinse it out. If you have some other infection or irritation on your tongue, it will help, and it won't hurt anything.

Hot salty water mouth rinse is another "home remedy" for your mouth that won't hurt and might help. But don't do them both at once, hahaha.

OH
LOL, Do you have any juice from a different vendor? I've never heard or used blue mist, (not saying they aren't known by others and may be good) but maybe juice from a different supplier, maybe a VG/PG combo? I use juice from Vaporbomb, backwoods brew and freedomsmokesUSA-all great, popular juice. Just a thought. I'm pretty new myself and for the first couple weeks I felt like I had strep! It was so bad I came so close to stopping, but it did go away after a few days.

Tea and beverages containing caffeine are, to a certain degree, a dessicant. The caffeine tricks your body into thinking that it's time to urinate before it is necessary. This generally leads to mild dehydration. Some e-liquids also tend to cause a slight degree of dry-mouth. The mouth's natural state is to be moist. Anything that upsets the balance can cause problems.

Bear in mind, dry mouth may not be the worst of your problems. There may be something in your e-liquid that you are allergic to. The only way to know for certain is to ask your physician. You could also try switching to a regular PG based liquid since you mentioned using Blu cigs at one point. If you were not having these issues before you switched, that may be an indicator of what is causing the problem. Blu has contracted with Johnson Creek to manufacture their e-liquid for their products. You could try using some liquids from them, Dekang (a standard liquid manufacturer for several companies), or Volcano e-cigs (which sells liquids nearly identical in specification to Blu before JC took over production).

My gosh you guys are fast to reply. Thank you. Something just came to mind. When I first started vaping I did use Johnson Creek....no problem and it was a dpg/vg combination. Then, I ordered from BWB....no problem. It really wasn't until I started using the Blue Mist liquids (the idea being to go with a 100% vg liquid that was very low in nicotine)....Johnson Creek's vg was too high for me and BWB was out of my favorite cherry tobacco. I'm thinking that if I had no problems for the first two weeks, then started right after switching to Blue Mist....that may be it. By the way, I have used the biotene, a baking soda/water mouth solution swish, and brushing teeth and tongue several times a day. I'm going to go back to the BWB that I have left over which is enough for at least a couple days and see how it goes. If it clears up, I'll know what the problem is. Then maybe I'll be able to get back to vaping. Wish me luck. I'll update later, and thanks again to all of you.

Hey, quitting smoking can make you depressed. You are changing your lifestyle, and leaving an old friend behind. You will say goodbye to the that pack of smokes you always have, and know where they are. Instead of having a lighter with you, you will know where your charged batteries are.

Try a little higher nic. level, and go from there.

LOL, she already had her question answered... I was being wise.

She probably just needs to go back to the juice she was using and all will be fine...

Oh , and i forgot, I am also depressed I burnt my LR atomizer and had to order more today. I think that "maybe" I rolled over on it last night as i vape in bed...possible as it worked last night - but not this morning.

Never really thought about it before... but rolling over on the EGO button would burn out the atty rather quickly, lol.

Everyone always says it is PG and people go to VG. I am exactly the opposite, maybe you are too. I can't be the only one out here that has a VG reaction. All of these symptoms happen when I use VG more then 20% for more then half the day. If you have any PG juice around try that for a bit and see if there is a difference.

Edit, sorry didn't read the whole thread , sounds like you have it figured out .

You're the first person I've read about having ANY type of reacting to any e-cig.

No, some people are allergic to PG. It is also "possible" that she is allergic to something in the flavoring of her liquid... possible. I am not allergic to anything that I know of...so don't really pay much attention to all that stuff.

But you are right in a respect. It really has nothing to do with ecigs. If someone is allergic to PG - then they are. But it is found in a zillion items. Or allergic to VG, or a flavor, or whatever. It has nothing to do with ecigs in general - or the act of vaping.

Freedomsmoke makes a ton of flavors and allows you to choose both pg/vg mix and nic level on many of them. Their products are excellent and you get more options than many other vendors. I have used BWB, Johnson's Creek, and High Caliber, and though they are all very good, I always go back to FSUSA.

Give yourself some time and you will work out the kinks, and get past the bad reactions. Happy Vaping!
