Click on the link at the top labeled forum suppliers. You will find trustworthy places to buy from and decent prices as well. You may want to look at the starter kits at Vapor4life.

You will save your health as well as saving money. If you have any questions (and you will) don't hesitate to ask.

Good luck!

PS Start up costs may be higher than the maintenance cost. You can buy juice to refill the cartridges with.

I second LowThudd's sentiments. Saving $ will likely be a secondary byproduct once you get a solid supplier. Enhancing my overall well-being now and living longer were my main reasons for quitting / switching. Good luck to you and IMHO if you do it for the right reason, the other benefits will follow.

Just take your time and do some reading at the links below. Then ask questions so you make the right decision from the get go. At the least you should come out even and that is good because you will feel a lot better and probably spend less on visiting your friendly doctor.

At some point check out the Modder's Forum because making your own will save you some big bucks. Also check out the Classifieds and Pay It Forward.

Consider me your recycling center for Njoy Pro, Smoking Everywhere Gold, Cloud 9, Smoke 51 Trio, and DSE103 useless batteries.
Other hardware if it’s still usable.
Those I loan out to/give to thank you.

Startup costs are difficult. My robot budget is pretty ticked off at me right now.

I was paying about $17.50/carton by buying a pound of pipe tobacco and DIYing it.

I just filled out one of those signature banner generator thingies (should finally have enough posts to use one, I think), it says I'll break even in negative days...

After 35 years of smoking, and not having health insurance, my Symbicort inhaler costs me $275/month. My Spiriva HandiHaler costs me $185. My albuterol inhaler is the cheap one, only $35. These are my monthly expenses for medication. I'm sure your doctor has given you the lecture, but for many people who smoke, if you're not on these meds yet, you will be.

You don't mention how much you and your husband smoke, but if it's a pack/day each, you're only spending about $115/month. I don't know that an e-cig can beat that. But, even if you were to buy a good kit, which often has two complete e-cigs in it, every month, by the time you add juice to it, it would probably be somewhere in the vicinity of $125-150. If you learned to make your own juice, you could probably shave about $50 off that, but there's a learning curve there, too, that will cost a little more initially because of the amount that doesn't quite make the cut.

I wish there had been e-cigs around a long time ago or that I had discovered them earlier. You may not save money, especially initially, but there are so many intangibles that you can't put a monetary price tag on that make it worth it (and you may save $25/month in Febreeze alone).

Your point about Febreze costs - that was me lol I dont buy any room fresheners now. Nor I do constantly scrub and clean to get tar smells/stains off things.
As for savings - some months I buy nothing - some months I go crazy and buy heaps - it still works out cheaper than smoking because juice lasts me longer and costs less. You dont have to buy a ton of different juices you can buy one flavor and stick with it and you dont need to replace it every week.
Start up costs though - yeah same as anything new - its going to put a dent in your pocket, not going to lie to you. Still coming HERE for info will save you cash becuse you WON'T be one of the people that lays down 100s of $ for a kit thats crap which you end up not using.
FYI no sellers are allowed in this part of the forums - all the recommendations you may get will be from users/ordinary joes with PV who've enjoyed a certain product.

Welcome Gungho! $23/carton? Unbelievable. Mine were $47/carton and I was buying 2 @ a time. My mom died from lung cancer. I recently saw a commercial about an e-cig and got my husband to search online. I didn't know about them either. Once he believed I was serious, he did an intense search. I got the Joye 510 from cignot.com. From what the people say on this site, there are VERY reliable vendors here. I just ordered 4 large size juices today that should last me possibly a month.

The way I see it, and I am NOT a 'green' person, except I recycle, this is like a 'green' cigarette. The vapors have NO odors when you toke on them, you stop coughing, you start to smell everything....even if unpleasant, taste improves, no wheezing and you're just so excited about all of it because you're getting healthier. There is no tar or carcinagens going into your lungs and your lungs start to heal. Then, if you choose, start dropping the mg's of nicotine until you're down to zero and you are off the full effects of analogs.....100%, but can still vape on 0% juice, if you want. My whole family is blown away by my progress thus far.....me too.

Iam going through the phase now trying to find what works for me... i have not picked up an analog since i started vaping... everything everyone has posted is correct... the initial cost takes a bit to get back, then you go through the phase of finding the right juices (which is where iam at) But you have to ask yourself is cancer cheaper? I think once you get a decent stock pile of replacement batteries, attys and your fav juices for all day vaping you will see a HUGE decrease in your overall spending

My husband and I are both smokers. I'm just learning about e-cigarettes. Doing a search on the internet did not help me much in finding a source that would be cheaper than what we are paying for cigarettes.

We currently are paying about $23 per carton. What I have found so far would work out to more than that.
Your living in Arkansas, and paying 23 bucks a carton and asking others how to save money?
Just kidding, you can save so much money buy spending a grand on ecigs/pv's in your first 3 months that even an accountant would tell you to write the check.Congrats on finding the forum and good luck.

Most people switched to e-cigs for health reasons.

But even the minority who switched for economical reasons soon realized the health benefits of switching when they start feeling better in many ways (even sex is better:D).
