I've been reading this forum for a couple weeks, trying to ingest the vast cornucopia of information relating to e-cigarettes, and have taken the advice given to other prospective new vapers from many here (to start with a simple set up) I ordered the KR808 starter kit today from one of the forum suppliers. I don't really care for the idea (until I get used to the whole thing, at least) of filling cartridges and all the hoorah, but since these cartomizers are supposedly refillable (and the ones that come with the starter kits are 'random flavors' I also ordered a bottle of menthol, since that's all I smoke. I hope I will be as happy with this change of habit as so many here are.

Oh, and thanks for having me. :)

Hi :) ands welcome to the forums

When I started the Kits were a Godsend to me. There was way too much information on batteries, passthroughs, cartomizers, atomizers, ect. The kits made it simplified where all I needed to worry about was some good flavors to start off with.

I hope you enjoy them.

I found this video very helpful in cartomizers. I wish I found it on day one when my Riva arrived, but it has some great video knowledge on caring for those carts

Thanks so much for the kind welcomes, support, info and links ('Care and feeding of...' lol) I'm going to give this a serious effort, not because people give me evil looks when they see me smoking (sometimes I light up just so they can abuse their facial muscles) but I'd love to cut way back on, if not totally give up, the hot boxes. My fingers are crossed. I'll be hanging around here, absorbing more knowledge and posting if I get stuck or can offer someone else words of encouragement. Thanks again. :)

This is NOT smoking. It is a healthier alternative. Yes, there is certainly a learning curve. But I assure you, coming from a 42 year smoker, it can be just as satisfying if not more so. I thought I'd have trouble adjusting to my "friend" as it is a bit more labor intensive then opening a pack of "stinkys" and lighting one. However, I was pleasently surprised that I adjusted quite easily to filling cartos, charging batteries and the general maintanence. And, it's fun! :) Also, please remember to drink lots of water. vaping can dry you out quickly.

We have to ask ourselves how much our lives are worth. Is it worth this much? it is to me . .
