Addiction is a condition that results when a person ingests a substance (e.g., alcohol, ......., nicotine) or engages in an activity (e.g., gambling, sex, shopping) that can be pleasurable but the continued use/act of which becomes compulsive and interferes with ordinary life responsibilities, such as work ...
Tell me how vaping is an addiction again?
I'd say it's actually a habit we all enjoy rather than an addiction.
The key difference between dependance and addiction is harm. Calling it an addiction is actually just more ANTZ rhetoric.
Do I need to bring up people fighting for their right to drink during prohibition? Puritans have been forcing their "Addiction" rhetoric on people who have a dependance for decades when they are clearly different things and it really needs to stop.
Yes alcohol can be abused to the point that it fits the definition of an addiction. I seriously doubt anyone is having problems getting to work because of their dependance on vaping though so I think you're actually just wrong on the basis that you chose to use the word addiction in the first place.
Now that I think of it i guess you are right, it's akin to people who constantly use the 'ANTZ' label on people who have just aren't pro-vaping on every subject. I've seen a few threads of people complaining they are going to quit or move out due to the fact that their workplace/living area doesn't allow vaping. Then again I guess it's their choice to actively chose not to go to work or not live in a vape-free environment. Which sort of comes back to peoples preferences and not the whole ban on vaping deal. I'm sure if vaping was big enough that there were a handful of people vaping in establishments like grocery stores, restaurants, etc, businesses would start to put up 'no-vaping' signs in their establishments, in fact I've heard of bars and restaurants doing so already. If a bunch of people started vaping at grocery stores/movie theatres etc, im pretty sure they would put up no-vaping signs as well. I'm willing to bet most establishments would put up no -vaping signs, if public vaping was a big enough thing.
