I'm scared what is happening to vaping, after NBC Nightly news released there story how vaping is killing everyone, I blew my top I got on there Facebook, Twitter, and other media I could find to complain about there story.

With the August 8 the deadline around the corner, Cole Bishop amendment got pulled, FDA flavor banned, I'm scared to death!!!

Without my vaping equipment, I will be smoking again. And cigarette looking devices don't work for me, I tried them and hated them and went back to smoking, the real cigarettes tasted better..

What I want to know, is there any good news for us vapers. Any hope, anything..

Take a deep breath. Don't panic. Here we have a proverb "nothing is eaten as hot as it is cooked" - it may look worse than it is because vape opponents want to stake their claim, it doesn't mean they will get everything they want. But you're right, it also doesn't mean that's impossible.

There are dark clouds on the horizon though and if you want to continue vaping you can take some actions to be prepared for the worst. Buy some higher nic base for your vape bunker, learn to DIY juice (if you don't already).
Get some extra devices for that same bunker, atties and mods. Even if the good and the bad meet somewhere in the middle things will likely change.

With a full bunker and less anxiousness you can make your voice heard, join activists, write a comment to the FDA. The more vocal the community is the better. Maybe it won't do anything but then at least you all tried ;)

I have to admit I'm rather pessamistic about the future for vaping as we now know it. I've been following the FDA's Deeming Regulations since it was first introduced. IMHO, the FDA to this point in time has had its own agenda to over-regulate vaping to benefit who primarily funds the FDA: Big Tobacco and Big Pharma. As usual, just follow the money trail.

Deeming Regulations have been released!!!!
New Developments with the US FDA, please see the Legislative and Media sections

As the Deeming now stands, in a few years the only vape products available might be cigalikes. The FDA has hinted that they may ban flavors, but that is yet to be finalized.
Possible incomming Flavor Ban

What many of us that have been vaping for a long time have done is to make our vaping "FDA-proof". We have learned to make our own e-liquids. We have learned to make our own coils and wicks (Rebuildables).

We will always be able to get Pg, Vg, and flavoring concentrates; there are other uses for these items besides making e-liquid. It may be difficult to get liquid nicotine, so many folks have been buying that in bulk and storing it in their freezer.

There will always be 18650 lithium batteries available because they are used in the automobile and power tool trades.

If we purchase a RBA (rebuildable atomizer), then the wire and wick materials to use with it will always be available because they are used in other industries. You can learn to wrap the wire coils and how to wick the cotton at a later time. Information Resources for Your First RBA

Because of their electronics, regulated mods probably have a limited life expectancy, so many of us have purchased a mechanical mod "just in case" we need one. There is not much to break with a mech. A Beginner's Guide to Your First Mechanical Mod

So in a worse case scenario, you CAN prepare yourself so that you can continue vaping regardless of what the future holds. And you still have time to educate yourself and prepare for a worse case scenario.

Yes, you will be able to continue vaping no matter what they do, but you may need to make your own coils and juice. So make sure you're prepared for that! Other than that, you can relax. It may be *slightly* more difficult to vape in the future, but only slightly!

More than likely juice and equipment won't be banned. Just restricted to few of their big business buddies so they can tax the heck out of it and make major profits for their buddies in the industry.

At any rate it will take them years to get there. They don't move fast

@j3000 -

(1) There are many on here who will gladly help you with learning what you'd need to know, to be able to DIY your own eliquids.

(2) You don't have to get/use mech mods. Many of us have other types that will take the 18650 batteries. One very simple one that several friends have stocked up on...are the Aspire CF tube mods. They're readily available and are pretty cheap when on sale or Clearance. Other mods, like the Eleaf Pico 75W mods that many have stockpiled, are also good and relatively inexpensive now. There are lots of mods available now to choose from.

(3) You can learn how to make your own coils, and how to install and wick them, and/or buy some pre-wound coils and learn how to install and wick them. They're very inexpensive now!

(4) Start trying out some RBAs available now. Find out which you like the best and stockpile several of those and replacements parts for them.

Now is a good time to learn what you can do, to guarantee that no matter what the FDA does...you'll still be able to vape as long as you want to. :)

You might get some peace of mind if you decide a particular replaceable head tank works well for you, then stock up a few of those tanks and a bunch of heads when they go on sale. Replacing heads and a bit of troubleshooting and maintenance should be pretty easy for your wife. If the heads last a decent amount of time for you, a few years worth won't cost much. You can also extend head life by sticking to liquids that aren't sweetened or dark to start.

I agree that products won't disappear in the short run, but if vaping is important to you having a bit of stock may be helpful. There's plenty time to be as prepared as you want - just settle on a couple setups and flavors you prefer.

RDA's and DIY I might not be able to do that
There's tools like eg coilmaster that make it easy to wrap the coils, it's repeatable and could be done just by feel without looking.
Finding a tank you like with a deck that coils are very easy to install on without a short - I'd have to look into that. Are you vaping m2l or d2l?

The juice thing might be a little more complicated for you. Question is how supportive is your wife? Would she be willing to combine nic base + base + flavor on an electronic scale? Isn't hard to do and if bigger batches are mixed it won't be often.

If willing, wifey could make his e-liquid. If she is a reasonably experienced baker, mixing e-liquid recipes is not much different than making a cake. She would need recipes, the proper mixing tools, and the items needed to make e-liquid (Vg, Pg, flavoring agents, and nicotine base).

I'm not certain I would trust just anyone (especially a non-vaper) to make his coils, measure them with an ohm meter, wick them, and install them in a RBA. Being that the OP is nearly blind, this could be his most serious issue to solve.

If tobacco flavors are banned then another simple recipe is equal parts blackberry and blueberry from the flavor apprentice. Very good, perhaps not all day vape but super clean. With EM it may be a truly all day/lifetime vape.

EM is ethyl maltol sweetener or cotton candy flavor from the flavor apprentice. Do not buy the circus variety of cotton candy. It has no practical use whatsoever.

Okay my reading program moving slow. So here is my answers, to the question I think you asked.
My wife is very supportive of me vaping, and I think she would do anything to keep me vaping.

I vape 6nic and I love sweet e-juice, because I'm diabetic I get my suger fix of from the e-juice..

I also hope that maybe some one on here will be able to make me coils.

Everybody seems to be rushing to get mechanicals. The new regulated devices are very well made and dependable.if taken care of they should last for years. I would get a few backups of high quality regulated devices. I have a few mechanical mods as backups but I have been using mechmods all along. i dont anticipate them going after devices as much as liquid. I could be wrong though.

Coils are the area that is going to be tough. The last round of regulations included build stations at shops. I lost my glasses a while back and building with 24ga is hard to do without them. I cant imagine trying it with no sight. I would suggest finding 1 tank with drop in coils that is dependable, buying a few of them and enough coils to last. If you DIY you should get a lot of mileage out of each coil. I am not a fan of drop in coil tanks but I do like the Crown 1 and they are really cheap.

I think with a coil jig like this
Coil Master Coiling Kit V4 - Coil Master
you can make coils even with very bad eyesight. The only problem for you would be installing them - which would probably be a thing of 1-2 minutes for your wife.

If you don't want to bother her with that then the advice of 440BB isn't bad, decide on a tank and get a few boxes of coils for it as well as a couple of pieces of this tank.

Also I have to say something personal,

I'm sorry, this goes to everyone on this forum. I should of seen this coming, I us to belong to this forum about 2 years ago, but I left because I didn't like what some people said about a comment I made..

And I'm sorry, I came back about 2 months ago because I was hearing all these things about vaping.

Everyone on here is great, and I'm sorry for leaving. So I blame my self for this. And I'm sorry to all of you.

That is awesome! With her support you will be fine. they have coil jigs that you can use. Feed one end in turn it however many wraps you want and cut the leads and you have a coil. If you go that route, get something very easy to build on. I have suggestions but they are all DTL RDAs. Somebody here can help out more with tanks if that is what you are looking for.
