Skip calling your post office, go above there heads and call the main customer service 1-800-ASK-USPS (1-800-275-8777)
I had a similar problem with missing packages, one of which got delivered 3 weeks late, contents gone and box folded up, I was told by my local P.O. that the the courier said he found the box in the gutter a few streets over but never reported finding it.
I haven't had a problem since calling, except for some local take outs the don't seem to understand that its illegal to put menus in mail boxes.

That "Delivery Confirmation" we pay extra for, or the vendors do, is bogus. If something is lost all the post office knows for sure is that it was delivered ...... to someone. Yea great, big help.

or get a post office mailbox and have everything delivered there, if possible.

DC is pretty much free now with electronic postage. USPS is undeniably the cheapest (and usually most efficient) method of getting vapemail from point A to point B.
You can certainly ask your vendor to provide both insurance as well as signature confirmation on your vapemail. I know several who will if you pay for that. It will add some cost though. Like most things in life, extra "service" is never free.

So you "do" have individual locked and keyed mailboxes at your place of residence?
I asked this and haven't heard back from you, so I'm still trying to put the peices of the puzzle together.
If you have a mail fraud / theft case, it won't cost you anything at all to pursue it. But first you would have to show that nobody but you and the carrier have "access" to your mailbox.
So what exactly is the setup there at your multi-unit residence?
Ahh I thought I responded, my apologies. That is correct only me and the carrier have access to my box. There is a ton of boxes all with lock and key. One box per residence. A typical condo/apartment setup.

One hopes someone else doesn't have a copy of your key from an old relationship to someone who lived there before you.
Oh dear. Well then you need to get "formal" about this now. Not phone calls, but actual filing of mail fraud, and first a meeting with the postmaster where your mail comes from.
If a previous tenant, or ex friend or romantic interest has a duplicate key to your box, then you need to know that, too. And so does the management company of your residence.
Mail theft is not like shoplifting. It is a federal crime. It carries scary stuff like JAIL TIME.
Get started. Once can happen, twice can happen, but the amount of times your mail shows delivered and did not arrive is serial at this point. Make sure you print out all the "delivered" tracking notices that you have as well.
The only other thing that could be happening is that your carrier just puts ALL your mail into the wrong box. It seems odd that he/she would do that repeatedly. I just do not think that is happening, as the odds would be very slim. Unless the carrier is stealing, also slim, to be honest, anyone who works at USPS knows the seriousness of mail theft, most would rather work and get their retiirement than spend time in prison.
In the meantime, I would still get a PO Box.

I'm going to sign up for a PO box tomorrow. No one at the post office cares, the damn postmaster today responded this way when I asked why my mail isn't being delivered to my box: "Ummm well it's a tough area over at your complex, and it's you know, whatever....

bogyjim Call the 1800 ask usps number. Keep hitting 0 til you get the prompt for the privacy notice answer it "NO", when the rep comes on tell them you want the number for the consumer affairs office for your area. That level is above both local and the regular customer service levels. The ones I'm working with on my issues are very helpful.

Oh that's great to know, thank you!! I am calling tomorrow. I'm also just gonna pony up the 22 bucks and get a PO box. Watch them screw that up too!
A PO Box is a good option.
I have had a PO box for many years.
For my REALLY important mail, I use my PO box because even if I move there isn't a problem with getting my mail.
My other mail comes to my home address.
I only pay 24.00 every six months (I think there are different sized boxes for different prices) and (at least at my PO) they have an overflow box area where they can put your stuff in case it won't all fit in the box.
It is worth the piece of mind.
That's a possibility, but those mailbox locks are shamefully easy to open. Don't ask...
Thanks, yep I'm pretty much sold on the PO box thing. I do basically ALL of my shopping online so a PO box will be nice to have. Getting really tired of these mail carriers! Plus with a PO box I get my mail early! No waiting for the carrier (who would mis "deliver" it anyways)
Also, if mail disappears it will have done it within the actual Postal System, since with a PO box it goes from the Vendor into the USPS logistical chain and remains there until it arrives at your Box and you pick it up.

Do you have a neighbor with the same last name?
I have a friend who lives in a six - plex who has a neighbor with the same last name but they are not related...their mail gets mixed up at times and luckily both parties are honest enough to forward their mail to each other.
Try not to be too hard on the Carrier - it is a thankless job.
