yessir. they are faster to build, and consequently will be costing less, and also more people will get dibi mods and sooner.

Peter, what size block do I need to get for the new design?

1 1/16" thick

wider (by any) than 1 3/4"

4" tall (ish . .. . a little shorter is still workable . .. . . say 3 7/8+)

It still would be good to check with me about a specific variety or piece of wood. The new design is more forgiving in most ways; but there's still going to be better and worse choices (and some just not).
