Still not caught back up yet, but I couldn't wait to get there before I responded to a couple of posts:
I also thought of a vaping device that gives a mild bracing electric shock to the throat and eyeballs at random intervals. :)
I'm in to try this mod! Anything from you Pete, plus I kinda got a thing for electricity, and I also think this would be a great "vaping while driving and starting to nod off" mod. It could also be useful for when you get drunk and sleepy.

is this an open-ended offer?

i've been interested in Gdeal's stuff, but i only have one useable hand, and it's not my (formerly) good one

i can't even make a good sammich :)
Mama, just let me know what you need and your address, and I'd love to come over and help build some pekos and such for you so long as you have the parts kits and shells (along with seeing the plethora of Woodvilles and Sumpin's that you've aquired).

Now back to reading.

Peter,
Correct me if I'm wrong. there is one list, with numbers assigned. When you have different mods available, We just pick which version of mod we want when our number is ready for build?

Yes. In in essence, that is the case. There is one master list that drives my schedule and indicates the order in which people have expressed interest in one of my mods. That is the list I consult when rounding up folks for the next run.

There are, however a few nuances involved . . .. . entangled by the incursions of happenstance (i.e. me coming up with multiple designs/products and/but still just remaining a single person with the two hands and the one single reality timeline). One is that I am taking notes when people express interest in something other than the original mod (DNA shell, Dublin'). This is primarily for my personal use; to get a sense of how much interest there is in these other options. (The second I will weave back in momentarily *.) So, these "notes" I've taken (which, end up looking like long, stringy things, comprised of names in order of data entry) have absolutely no bearing on my fabrication schedule. They are not lists, in that they, of themselves, do not dictate any action.

As I started making other types/parts of mods, I thought one would simply choose when their name came up on the master list. However, I've since realized that that would be more complicated and impractical on the shop floor than I care to deal with. So, rather than make them concurrently, I will be gathering "opters" for DNA shells from multiple runs and doing little batchlets of those between/after the pertinent runs. When I do that, set up the tools and go through the series of fabricating operations, it makes sense to round out the batch for efficiency's sake. So, rather than spend a "week" making 6 shells for list people, I want to go ahead and spend a "week+a day or two" making 10 shells. And distributing the extras to those who want that specific product*. (←there's the "weave back in").

Example:

I'm starting run#8 right now. On the Master list, I encountered requests for 4 dna shells among the people who's turn has come. That's not enough to trigger a mini-batch of shells. So I've asked them to wait a bit while I make the batch of Sumpin'. I will see, as I'm harvesting the list for run#9, how many are there who want to opt for dna as well. Then, after run#9, I'll slip in a short session (~1 week) devoted to shells in order to satisfy the people on the Master List who have opted for such when their turn came up. If that proves to be 6-8 shells, I will round it out to a batch of 10 by consulting my notes on dna shell interest.

It's a bit complicated; but it's the best I can do to honor the precedence of the Master List, be creative in my pursuits, offer people all those options, and not lose my mind or my shirt. :)

That sound like a sound functional plan, I'm impressed!

OK, my dear peeps. We have a chance to do a little something nice for someone who could really use a little nice right about now. (Wonder Twin powers, ACTIVATE: seething mass of goodness!)

This ↓ mod, needs to get to it's home!

16096386357_b88f3a57ed.jpg

I made this mod for Vtwin in this last run. We'd been holding off on invoice/ship, as he had some life stuff getting in the way. Basically, we agreed to wait until after brain surgery to complete the transaction. I heard back from him this week, and the news was not good. The surgery went well; but brought with it a new prognosis. A very bad one. Such that he has only a number of months to live (2-9). His note to me included sincere apologies and stated that he would have to renounce his claim on the mod as he was in no position to spend money on niceties (my wording) given that he has to save and salvage as much as possible for his wife, after he's gone.

Well the massive forces at play in Vtwin and his family's life aside (as there's not much I can do about all that . . . . wayyyy beyond my teensy realm of influence), I'm not good with a tip of the hat and a toodle-oo. I insist (as I know you all do too) that this man have his mod and enjoy the wee bit of comfort and pleasure it affords him. More importantly, I think a loving gesture from a bunch of us would go a long way to warming his heart on a cold, cold day.

Big surprise here: I'm not in a position to be that magnanimous all by myself. It seems my intentions have gotten far out in front of my abilities. I'm thinking, however, knowing what loving and good peeps we are around here, that I'm not the only one who would stumble upon this train of thought. So, what say we all (i.e. some, many, a subset of us) pitch in and get this mod where it belongs?!!!

A certain spivey, derelict, speaks-his-mind (even at the cost of babies being trampled by angry rhinos . . . . ) Brit has offered a hundred bucks. I'm going to pitch in fifty. Perhaps if a lot of people gave very small contributions, pitched in on this gift, we could make this happen.

The practical/ethical:

I don't want people randomly slinging contributions. Primarily because I don't want to exceed the goal and have a logistical/ethical mess on my hands. My proposed plan of attack would be that people PM me with a proposed contribution and, if preferred, a note on preference for anonymity .. . . . I will assume all donations to be public unless I'm instructed otherwise. Also, I encourage folks to post in the thread about their involvement if they like. I will reply (PM) with a status report (on the status of the donations/goal), a formal acceptance of the proposed contribution, and my PP addy. This will be my control on not accepting any more than is required (406, absolute max/total). So please conform to the gameplan, don't improvise, and be sure to satisfy the invoice expeditiously, as it will inform me as to when to stop accepting any more.

and a secretarial note: I have to be away from practical communications for about 1 1/2 hour. So . . . I'll be back on this at noon PST.

EDIT: I'm coming back and adding this note for clarity (after it has been suggested that we add an atomizer).

This is solely and exactly about a bunch of us choosing to buy one particular mod and one particular atomizer together.

ADDIT 2, the sequel:

Ok, I gotta close this thing in order to move it along. anyone who has already pmed me (before I write this), will be getting a reply shortly.
