Phew! Thanks Bims. Even new bookmarks are going to the first page. Dibi Man, can you post the measurements of the newest mod in your specs thread? That way it'll be easier to find.

I think I'll be starting new threads fairly soon. For now, 1 x 1.7 3.5".

I could take ~1/8" off the bottom/base of this design. As it stands, there's ~ 1/4" of solid would (often, this will be end grain, and that's pertinent) under the battery tube, and a whopping 3/8" under the squonk bottle. I like that much beef down there (especially in the squonk-ho nethers). It will certainly go a long way to adding strength. The default layout yields a mod of the height we're all used to. Were someone to be, say, small of hand, and were that person to select a wood that is quite strong (and not linear in it's grainflow), they could ask to lose the 1/8" of beef from the bottom (before I start shaping!) So, then, that would be 1 x 1.7 x 3.375".

You mean to say when people ask me what that is I'm gonna say Pete's li'l squirt????

incorrect.

you would be calling it your own li'l squirt. ;)

(unless, of course, it wasn't yours. in which case you'd have to confess to giving somebody else's li'l squirt a firm squeezin')

You really have to be special friends to allow your buddy to give your li'l squirt a firm squeezin'..... but I guess it depends on who you'll are buddies with.

On a separate note, tried turbocad6's high-top center coil today and while it's going to take a little tweaking on my builds, the flavor is awesome. Thanks for sharing it TC.

.......
On a side note, I'm always honored when someone takes the time and does me the justice of asking how I feel about it, when they want to borrow from my design, or make a variation of it. Those people are exactly, and only, Cap'n Steve, Quigs, and C-C.

Ahem........? (Although I didn't follow through as usual)

(errrrm, I was picturing finished mods in my head when I wrote that . . . . . don't seem to have a mental image/recall of your finished mod. So then I can add Onjre to that list too.)

Just in case someone remembered I talked about doing that, I didn't want them to think I hadn't talked to you about it first. One of these days maybe I'll finish it......yea right, who am I kidding. Thought I might have some self time this weekend, but the other half wanted new mulch in the flower beds and new wood flooring in the daughter's room (former man room) and I have 2 estimates to get out so not so much. Haven't even 3D printed anything in 3 or 4 weeks and my new drill press I got at Christmas time is still in the crate.

just in case what?

I'm glad y'all are having fun, and playing around is what it's all about; but seriously, for just a sec. here. There's only 3 kind of people who are going to offer a Titanium mod:

1) someone who doesn't know any better (and they won't do it any longer than it takes to figure out it's a really bad idea, from a fabricator's point of view)

2) someone who's looking for the fastest way to wear through their tooling and piss off their customers (there's no way you're gonna get your money's worth)

3) someone who's run out of ideas on how to overcharge for their product (without running the risk of making any money on it themselves)

. . . . but that's just my opinion. and I'm certainly no scientist. :?:

no sir.

Seriously, and no kidding!

I wonder how UD does their Ti atty's? Although you don't have to drill a 3" hole to make an atty. And they are a little more expensive.
