Sketchy quality and lies you can believe in seem to be the MO of the Chinese, especially when it comes to a wildly expanding market. They will say anything to get you to buy, and what you get may or may not be any good at all, say nothing of living up to adverts.

Just my experience with them.

To those of you who are curious about the new no name battery brand Imren, I just wanted everyone to know that they actually are high quality cell batteries. My local vapor shop sells them, and I personally tried one. They don't have the highest MaH rating, but they do have a true 40A continuous crank. Unlike the vamped brand batteries, which are 20A cont. 40A pulsing, these batteries are true 40A batteries. They have solid cells and hold up well in sub-ohm vaping. Happy vaping! :D

No, you think they are high quality and you think they are true 40A batteries. No one else has to my knowledge actually tested these batteries, so the only way for you to know what you claim is if you did the testing yourself. Which you didn't. Therefore you can not sure.

I'm not trying to give you a hard time D0196, this is just how this stuff works. Even after testing there can be doubt about the findings, but accurate test results do generally allow users to make good decisions on the comparative qualities of batteries.

sucking on a potential pipe bomb/frag grenade isn't going to improve my health.

I can't help but always laugh at these types of words quoted.

Over two years, I've yet to find any validated medical proof that even one person ever blew up or blew any extremety off thier body using any vaping battery. Why! They are all designed to vent, Vent means to spew it's gasses out and yes, get hot. I've thrown IMR batteries into a burning barral and not once, has even one of them BLOWN UP! And wouldn't you think that if batteries were actually blowing up on vapers, that it'd be and have been a media frenzie and those that oppose vaping would jump on that bad wagon with an arsonal of lawyers to try to pass all kinds of laws against it! Truth is, that batteries don't blow up just becase they hit thier max. They will and do vent and get hot. Just they don't blow up without some really drastic things done to them.

The normal vaping community is as safe as walking out thier doors everyday using the ICR and IMR batteries.

I have one of these Imren 18650 batteries and am and have been running it in my Turtle Ship mod with a Plume veil at .45 ohm and it's right there with my 4 x VTC 5s, 6 x VTC4's, and surpasses my MNKE 1500 25 amp batteries. Perhaps I got lucky and got a good one. And it's not blown my face off either! Whoopie!

Going to go buy a couple more and see through. If I get one that blows up like a grenade, Well the end result will be, that there will never be another post from me. I'll be dead.

@D0196: I really hope that your assertions prove to be correct, and that these batteries are truly 40amp continuous discharge. That would be great for the vaping community.

That being said, what some of the others are saying is that without proof, then the claims are just assertions. Assertions may very well turn out to be true, but until the assertions are verified with testing, then we all have to wait to see.

Just my :2c:

Happy Vaping!

I know this is an older post but I can tell you I just got a couple of the "green labled 38amp rated" yesterday. Using them on a .6"ish" ohm build and they're doing just fine..They seemed to hit harder even at the lower voltages than my Samsung's are doing in the same mod. The Sammy's are only about 25 cycles or so old (if even that) so we'll see. I'm not sure about the OP saying all the different ones are "fake". Perhaps different capacities or even like AW does take the cream of the crop and label them higher. (again this is pure conjecture on my part I have no data either way)

This battery thing has really gotten touchy I guess. So many out there and really not enough information on all of them. As always YMMV.

Sorry but I just don't understand why anyone seeks out the product that requires the highest wattage to produce the vape that they want.
It just seems more logical to seek out the products that can produce that same vape at the lowest wattage.

pfft-pfft-pfft ......... So the average guy runs out and buys a supposedly 40a battery that no one knows anything about ..... and then uses it at 5a.

To me it just makes more sense to buy 16-20a batteries that are tried & true, and vape within their safe limits.

Somehow the "un-average" guy always seems to pop up. I personally don't go below .5 ohms even in my dual coil builds. My lady has a son however....... On the subject of "tried and true batteries". What makes a battery tried and true? Yes, using one. Just because one (brand, size, etc) is here today doesn't mean they'll be here tomorrow. Also one could find themselves at a point where they have to buy something on the road perhaps, and knowledge is always a good thing. (at least to me). While I don't need those high amp batteries, some feel they do. We pretty much know a lot of manufacturers (resellers) are over inflating the way they are rating the batteries. The whole pulse vs continuous thing keeps popping up. Yep continuous means just that. Push the button and hold her down. Pulse? I'd say most people could honestly go by that rating also given the way we pulse, inhale, rinse and repeat.

Just thoughts, nothing more nothing less. While it's so easy to say just buy this or that (and that's what we do here) again, knowledge on the various batteries can never hurt me thinks.

"To me it just makes more sense to buy 16-20a batteries that are tried & true, and vape within their safe limits."

    ^^^ this is perfect however^^^

So I found this at uk vapors. I'm not particularly smart when it comes to battery graphs but maybe someone can decipher them.

Make sure you keep reading, the imren and efest collapse above 30 amps. Meaning the actual voltage output is worthless

And they are speculating from the curve its a rewrapped 25r

Whether these off brands can output or not is not the real issue. What good is 30 plus amps if it forces the cells to drop the output to less then 3.5 volts.

That's what people are missing, in a box mod pulling 30 amps the drain is so heavy the cell has to output 25% more amperage to make up the voltage loss.

keep pushing these cells like this and we are gonna need a new Timmy.

I know I'm johnny come late on this, but I'll do what I can to explain why perhaps.
On a personal note. I don't breath air anymore. I breath flavored vapor. Now having stated this, it also means I may one day be running a 1.3 or higher ohm coil all the way down ( now days on a TC mod) to .05 ohms. Now if I'm using one of my 200 watt mods I have, on occasion I've built a quad coil @.1 ohms and put 200w to it. Ideally I should be pulling 44amps (if my devise could do that). However, since my devise nor any batteries I've ever purchased isn't capable of delivering 44 amps, it will instead just give me all that is there on the particular set of batteries I have in it. Or if the devise can't deliver say 35amps, it'll deliver to the coil whatever it's set to deliver. Now do I do this on an everyday basis! The answer is no. But as I stated, on occasion I have done it and still do. But not for too long a time.

    To put it another way.

2 years ago I stepped into a dodge dealership. I looked around and awed over all the cars and pickups on the lot and in the showroom. I wasn't there to buy anything. I was just there to look. Now of course I was confronted pretty quick by one of those devil salesmen. But I stuck his pitchfork in the dirt and told him if I needed him, I'd come get him, otherwise please just let me look. He left and I and my partner went back to looking and drooling. Now at the time, I didn't' know much of anything about dodge automobiles or the power plants they had in them. So after looking around some more, I simply left, went home and got on the net and started researching. It is great to have the internet these days. The reason I did this was because as one might guess! While looking around, I did have some cars that really pulled on my chain. Well to get to the end of it, I went back after doing all my research armed with a wealth of information and what did I do! I bought a 2013 Dodge srt8 challenger! You know! The one with the 6.2L Hemi pushing 470hp.

Did I need such a car!
    No!
Was I going to supercharge, tweak it with better headers and exhaust and shift kit with a carbon fiber flywheel and drive shaft and all or any other high end implements of go fast and put it on a race track!
    No!
So why did I need it!
    I didn't!
How do I justify having it.
    Easy! I wanted it.

So now the other questions are, Do I need that much HP for everyday driving!
    Nope!
Then why spend 60k on such a car.
Because I wanted it, could afford it and because since 1970 when I first saw a Challenger RT with the 426 Hemi drive down our street blowing smoke off it's tires like they were on fire I wanted a Hemi.

Although I don't use it's power everyday or very often at all, I do know it's there if or when I want to play with it.
So in answer to your why questions that to you, with your answers, seems more sensible and I agree that they are to an extent.
One might put this same thing in play about batteries.

Do I need to spend as much as I have on the highest amp vape batteries I can find!
    Yes!
    Why!
For the same reason I and I'm sure other people might. Because if it's ever wanted or needed for anything , IT'S THERE. And simply put! because we want them. That should pretty much clear it all up I hope.

    Have a good day all.

I have a pair of Imren Purple "40Amp" Pulse rated. They are not 40A CDR they are 20Amp CDR which is the rating anyone vaping needs to pay attention to. This false advertising by companies needs to be stomped down on and hard, someone is going to get themselves hurt pushing a battery past their limit thinking they can go where they shouldn't with a resistance build. The only thing I am using my Purple Imrens in are my Sigelei Mini, SVD 2.0, and Vaporshark rDNA40. Yes they hold up well under a reasonable load at 20watts even 30 and 40watts, but still looking for a replacement battery for a mech, Sony VTC3/4, Xtar XT-VTC4, LG HB6.

    /rant end

Please provide a video link and graphs to substantiate such a statement. I have 4 of those batteries and while I have no access to the $3000.00 -$8000.00 dollar Oscilloscope with all the other implements attached to said scope to be able to test batteries properly, I can do nothing but use what senses I have. And going by those Imren's up against my Sony vtc5s, they feel quite impressive in all my devises ( I have over 50. From the standard single battery mech mods to a couple of multi battery parallel wired mech mods and one mech mod wired in series. I also have many vv/vw devises from the 15w vamo single battery type up to and to include 3 Ipv 3s upgraded to 165w, One Ipv 3li upgraded to 200w, 2 sigelei 150s, 1 Ipv4 upgraded to 120w, 1 180 3 battery god mod and a 200w Snow wolf. I also have some 30w ones some 60 w ones too) They certainly beat out my Samsung 25rs easily . So please supply evidence that can quantify your statements. Otherwise I will take it (as others I think should too) that you simply came to "rant" and that you do not have such evidence. So until such time. Your whole post is full of assumptions, assertions and accusations that hold no merit.

    Let's settle this... :)
I've done a little bit of battery testing here (see my blog for more info on the tests, test methodology, and equipment). I'd be happy to run a quick test of the Imren 40A battery...which ones are you guys talking about? The 2500mAh or 3000mAh version?

I'll do a quick 20A comparison against the 25R and VTC5 and then run the Imren up to 40A to test its rating.

    @Mooch

I was talking about the ones I have which are these.
    puhk238.jpg

I saw a graph doing a comparison test with the Yellow Imren 2000mAh 40A. But I knew before I ever saw the graph, that those couldn't hold a candle to what they were labeled/advertised as. I had a chance to feel them as it were and they could hardly light my coil that I was using ( dual fused Clapton coils @ .16ohms.. Yes I was asking a lot out of those). But the above/pictured batteries seemed to do just as well as my Sony VTC5s on this same build and in the same RDA. Well at least to around 3.8v from fully charged. I was using a flip v3 with the Mutation x v2. They may fall on their face after that, but I've found no real testing on them. So it would be a blessing, no matter which way things go, just to see and know if these things are doing anything close to what I think I'm feeling in my vaping experence with them.

OK, I have one of those, unused. To be honest, I expect it to test out as a 20A battery. I''ve never seen a rewrapped battery test better than that as there just aren't any batteries available to us vapers that are rated higher than 30A. And only one at that level...the HB6.

The VTC5 is a 20A battery so I can see how the Imren could seem to be performing as well as the VTC5. I don't think the Imren will do as well as the 25R or VTC4 though...or the Aspire or HD2 either. But the graph will tell all! :)

I'm always willing to get me some new learnin' so I'll give the battery a good testing. It will take about two days to do the about 15 discharges it takes to test a higher-rated battery but I'll report back here when I've posted the results.
