Yea, I have the same issue.. ive had my e-cig for a few days and ive only vaped in a timmies so far... i honestly get tired repeating and explaining what it is to people. Which is why i dont think its a great idea (for me atleast) to vape in classes. Most of my classes are packed and in small classrooms... and with the darker lecture halls i dont want to be the guy with the blue LED going off every few minutes. Its just alot of attention i dont care to reciprocate.

Call it selfish, but i just get tired of explaining it oooover and oooover and ooooooover to ppl ill probably see or sit next to once or twice a semester. And i especially get uncomfortable when ppl ask to hold it or vape from it too. I guess Im a little bit of a germaphobe, but meh... i tell them to go to happyvaper.com and get their own!

Im really sketchy on trying it in class. Granted through most of my classes, a hit of nicotine would do some good, but Im not gonna risk embarassing myself. I do vape alot though in my dorm room in milwaukee. Beats taking an elevator down 15 floors, walking across a big lobby, standing outside in the cold for 5 minutes, then walking back.

Tim Hortons I think is only in Canada, but people that live near the border probably have been in them a bunch....great for a long drive to toronto....need the coffee haha. I live in NY and most people that have been to Canada at least once know what they are. Sort of like Dunkin Donuts here or something although I like Tim Hortons a little better and I am not sure why (prices might be one thing)

I see it as someone sitting next to me in class eating a big ole steak and some mashed potatos. Is eating steak and mashed potatos illegal? No. Is eating steak and mashed potatos harmful? No. But dammit its going to make me crave a steak and some mashed potatos! Its also extremely distracting.Like the person texting on their cell phone next to me.Its hard enough to concentrate in class without vapor and LED lights going off.

oh, not to sound rude or condescending.. I just honestly dont know if the states has them, but Timmies is Tim Hortons.. a massive coffee shop franchise.

Tim Horton's has made it's way down slowly into some states. I'm in the northwest corner of Ohio about an hour away from Windsor and we have like 3 of em here in town..
Honestly, they are alot different here stateside but that was back when I was used to visiting friends up in Ontario where it seemed like Timmies had a smoking and chain-smoking section instead of a smoking and non section..
But yea we dont really get the tim tarts down here either

i did not read all the posts... but alot... so i dont know if anyone has said this in here yet or not. but if you dont know if you should vape in a area, i WOULDNT. just because you can doesnt mean you should. i hate soundin like a ol granny but, this in opinion is a very new, unstable concept to the general public.... one wrong move and its all over... word of mouth will spread that its a horrible thing. we are like walking bill boards for these things, now the bill board could be a picture of gold so to speak, but if you do it incorrectly it could be a bill board of satan. all im saying is, we are the pioneers of this here.... lets not mess it up and give the government,FDA or any other ANTI smoking/vaping establishment any fuel against us.

if you got permission like the one lady in this post to vape in class.. awesome, if not i wouldnt.

end of rant... i feel a beat down coming lol

So tell me since it's not illegal, it's not smoking, and it's harmless, why would I not be able to do it whenever or wherever I please? I pray for the day some misguided dope decides to confront me on vaping in public, I am not a sheep and refuse to act like one. There is no reason to hide these or the fact that you use one. WTF people, choose to be cowed by others opinion if you must, I never have and never will.

Yes, but there's a time and place for everything. It's not illegal to pull out a cell phone and talk loudly anywhere, but still, being belligerent about it will only hurt you and the infantile e-cig. We all dream of being able to vape where we choose, but then again, you can't forget manners. Certain times and places require a sense of professionalism. It's safe to say that wherever chewing gum would be offensive, so would vaping. The fact that the vapor is noticeable just adds more places where seeing a plume of "smoke" wouldn't be welcome, no matter how well accepted they are.

Definitely don't hide the fact you vape, but if you're not sure of how others will see it, don't be a jerk about it. Negative attention on such a new piece of technology is the last thing it needs.

I stealth vape in all my classes. No one has noticed yet. I also vape semi openly, semi stealth in the hallways. Outside there are designated areas for smoking, but I openly vape wherever outside, regardless of non smoking or not. Just a matter of "choosing my battles" I guess. I'd rather "get caught" in areas it will be less of an "offense."

I had an excellent experience on Tuesday of this week though. I have an Oral Communications (speech) class, and we had to do an impromptu speech that day. I was sitting there racking my brain, twirling my pv, stealth vaping, and fretting about what to do, when it hit me. I looked at my 510 and thought, "What the heck?" So when it was my time, I walked up to the front of the class, turned my back on the audience and took a huge hit. I then turned around and blew a massive cloud of vapor. Everyone had the expected reaction of, "Holy @#%^! Is he really smoking in here?!" And
the teacher did have a priceless look of, "Oh god. I'm so fired." I then said, "Man, I love a good smoke." Of course I then went on to explain exactly what an E-cig is, how it works, how its just "water vapor", harmless, and so on and so on. Overall it went pretty well. I got an A for the speech, but more importantly didn't get expelled :p

The best part is that I've since had at least four people from that class approach me with questions and requests for information on where to get one. I directed them to this forum, first and foremost, because of all of the invaluable information here. Then to the supplier I bought mine from.

All in all, pretty good stuff.

Sorry for the ramble XD
