I just got my Titan 510 and it is pretty cool. The vapor actually looks like real smoke, and the throat hit and taste feel like I am smoking a Parliament Light or something. So, I am impressed.

I got a manual and an automatic battery, and both seem to be good. I don't have a preference yet, except I think the manual is easier to smoke.

I got the weird primer fluid taste everyone talks about here.

The hairy stuff in the cartridges: it is sticking to the atomizer. What should you do about this? Is it ok to leave on there or what? Should I try to stuff the hairy stuff back deep in the cartridge?

As far as putting juice goes, I put it directly on the hairy cartridge filling? I also heard I can directly drip it on the atomizer, right? So explain to me exactly what I need to do.

So far, it is a little harsh. Will that get better as time goes on? I am using 18mg nic cartridges from Totally wicked and I have a bunch of their juice.

Should I be cleaning the atomizer, when and how should I do that?

How much juice should I put in there? Can I put different juice on a cartridge that already has a different juice on it or is it better to get an empty cartridge?

most of the time the filler won't stick to the atty unless it's try(possible you're vaping hard because it's new) I've never been bothered by a couple of hairs on the atty myself but some believe it's the root of all evil

you need to fill the cartridge with juice top to bottom not just juice on top..........I fill about six drops then insert filling and squish it up and down with tweezers to remove air and fill til moist at top. Dripping works if you don't flood it. If it's flooded simply blow through atty and start again(about 2 drops)

The harshness should go away.......drink lots of water the first couple weeks

I do not clean atomizers( maybe quick rinse with water, blow out and reprime and vape once a month) my first one lasted 3 months before it got tired

most flavors can be mixed over top of each other but ones like coffee, clove and menthol should be kept seperate because of how strong they are

The FAQ-type stickies have a lot of that sort of info, but here's a brief shot:

Put a drop or two of juice on "bridge," the part of the atty that sticks up (don't panic if you miss, it won't kill it, but it's best to hit the bridge). Then drip juice (slowly) on the white hairy filling until it looks saturated (overfilling won't hurt anything, it'll just get a little messy). If it was empty to start with, you could expect around 15 drops, but if the cart already has liquid you might not get nearly that many (maybe 5).

Filling on one side of the cart (near the edge) will help it soak down and not get stuck on a pillow of trapped air. The "straw mod" and "PTB mod" (Search is your friend) will help the filling process.

The flavor will definitely get better if you use juice rather than what's in the pre-filled carts.

There are lots of opinions on cleaning. I just do a "dry burn" when I'm done with an atty for the day (I have 3 in rotation now), but I've only been at this a few days, so I haven't had any problems yet. People's luck with atties seems to vary -- some have one work for weeks without any cleaning, others have it stop working in a few days.

Just leave that "hairy stuff" there it won't hurt anything and you don't want to pull out the fibers that are down in the atty. Dont push the fibers back into the cart any further than even with the end. The fibers should touch the bridge of the atty to get the best wicking.

Yes, just drip directly onto the filler in the cart waiting a sec or 2 between drips. You want the top of the filler to have a wet look but not pooled. If you get too much and it does pool on top, just touch it with a paper towel. To drip on the atty, just drip in a couple of drops directly in the center of the atty. I also top off the cart when I drip.

Yes, your vape should become less harsh as you burn the primer off. Dripping should help smooth this out. Also, be sure to drink at least a quart of water per day in addition to other liquids since PG will dry out your mouth and throat some.

You don't need to clean the atomizer often and not unless it quits producing good vapor, and that shouldn't happen for several weeks.

You can put in a different juice but some go well together and others won't taste very good. You can also pull the fiber filling out, rinse it well then blot it mostly dry with a paper towel, leave out to dry further for a couple of hours then put it back in and fill.

Hope this answers all the questions for now and I'm sure you'll have more as you go along. Thankfully we have this forum.

Thanks for the advice guys. I think I just need to look at this in a more simple way, but whenever I read the stuff here it all sounds like it should be complicated.

Do you know what the primer fluid is made of and the fastest way to get it off the atomizer?

On a side note, I feel a little buzzed. Not really a nicotine buzz, but a little spaced out. Interesting. You knows noticed that too?

If the hairs from the cart are actually sticking to the bridge when you remove the cart then you are running it too hot/not enough juice. (don't confuse cart hairs with the fiber wick that sticks out from under the sides of the bridge- you don't want to disturb them).

You can get a bad burnt taste from several things- running it too hot and burning that wick under the atty, or else getting some cart hairs under the bridge and burning them. Gunk builds up on the coil under the bridge- you can do dry burns and get rid of that buildup if it hasn't gotten too bad- since you have had it one day, that should not be needed.

Get some alcohol, put it in a cup, and put the atty in there and swirl it around. Then remove the atty and shake it out, then blow the excess out with your mouth. Do that several times and it will remove whatever it is they put in there for shipping that tastes bad. Then drip about 5-6 drops on the atty bridge. (This primes the atty) Then fill a cart with juice. Use something like a straight pin to push down between the sides of the cart and the filling to remove trapped air. Keep filling cart til' the liquid has saturated the filling. Then put the cart back on and enjoy. You may have to top off the cart immediately after a few drags if you didn't get enough juice in the atty- but that is preferable to flooding an auto battery and ruining it. You must be careful with the auto batteries- one flooding will ruin it for good. The manual batts are sealed and bulletproof with regard to flooding.

Some people have reported feeling a little spaced out when using propylene glycol mixes, it's likely a mild reaction to something new. If it doesn't go away after a little while, consider trying a vegetable glycerine mix instead.

My boss cleans his atomizer by putting a few drops of peroxide on it and just burning it out. I haven't tried this yet, haven't seemed to need it. He says it works just fine.
As for the juice tastes, some places have sampler packs and others have some with low PG, I think it is, if that is bothering you. I tried several flavors and people at work and I share. Eventually, you will settle into one or two that just seem right for you.
I only got my 510 because my work banned smoking on the grounds. I love it, and unintentionally, have quit smoking analogs altogether. Cough went away too!

Okay, be careful here.

The atomizers have wicking fibers attached underneath the atomizer bridge.
A lot of times those fibers are bunched up on one side of the atomizer bridge.
They belong there and do not hurt anything.

Now on the other hand, you might have little tiny fibers from the cartridge filler stuck to the bridge.
Those can be removed with tweezers so they don't wind up down in the coil someday.

My advice is to never twist your cartridge once it is inserted into the atomizer.
That should pretty much eliminate those little fibers from getting stuck on the atomizer bridge.

So far, it is a little harsh. Will that get better as time goes on? I am using 18mg nic cartridges from Totally wicked and I have a bunch of their juice.
Harshness is in the eye of the beholder I think.
Do you mean that it sort of burns your throat a bit?

Assuming that is the case, various liquids have various degrees of throat hit.
In general, more nicotine in your juice will lead to a bigger throat hit.

Other than that, there doesn't seem to be any way to predict.
Some flavors seem to have more throat hit that others, and not always what you'd expect.

Should I be cleaning the atomizer, when and how should I do that?
To be perfectly honest, nobody really knows for sure, although many people are convinced they do.
And I guarantee you that some of them are right, and some are wrong.
This is a point that is certainly not settled by any means.

Read up and make your own decision is my advice.
