Edit: Funny as I was just looking at the title of this thread...
"In over my head! In Canada, need help!!!!"
Talk about a transition from Post # 1 :D

I know. :D

He's going to start a blog next week! ;)

Vapoor, have you tried the new BCC (bottom coil changeable) clearos, like Kanger T3/BCC Tabac, Evod etc? They are really nice and they are eGo threaded. :) I'm a recent convert.

That "510" thing? What I've pieced together is there are a few popular standards and you're going to want to try to get a feel for which one seems to have the best options for you. Yah, not easy to judge when you're just starting out but I mean, like, if you go poking around the web for the "510", just about everybody has stuff in that standard. It's pretty widespread. There are a few others like that. I'd say try to narrow down to just a couple that seem to have... lots of "stuff" available so as you get to know more, you can add on.

Least that's what I'm thinking. I have a Blu. Which I bought before I found the forum here (oh I wish I'd found the ECF first). But the 510 is common enough, I'm not stuck. I can "migrate" away from Blu. Don't have to toss the whole thing and start over.

Hi mkbilbo and welcome to ECF! Nice post!

Yeah, the 510 connection rules. They are innovating like crazy. Everything seems to be happening there, the kr808 is just waking up and trying to catch up. The best example is that new Volt Spinner and the kr808 threaded T3 clearos--a copy of the eGo Twist and Kanger T3. :D

Nothing wrong with the Blu, it got a lot people off cigarettes. It's overpriced and underperforming, in the long run, but a nice introduction to e-cigs.

Congratulations and happy vaping!

Perfect! Just took apart another and have no signs of the burning in these pics. This one is dry though, must have cut it out at the right time. This is perfect info for what I'm looking for, thank you so much Katya!!!

Shane, stop ripping those cartomizers apart!!!!! They can be refilled, you know? ;)

LOL a Blog  Between work and other stuff I don't have time. Luckily I work here @ home on a PC ( sometimes nutzo crazy and other times nothing to do) so sometimes I have the luxury of posting here.
The Kanger T3 I was looking at but a friend and wife bought a couple- hers leaked from day one and his was great...for 1 1/2 weeks and then began leaking. They gave them to me and it seems cleaning them regularly is important and they're working fine but they don't want them back. I'm really curious about the Kanger Glass ProTank but will wait- problem also I like a warm vape.

I know, that tank looks promising. Are you getting one? Keep us posted, will you? Do you feel that they run hotter than the BCCs? What battery are you using? I play with the voltage on my Twists to get the warmth I like.

EDIT: This tank has no cartomizer???? WOW! Now I'm really interested! However, 2.6Ω is too high for me. I use 1.8 and 2.2Ω coils with my BCCs. I wish it were eGo threaded... I hate that gap on my eGos. I know, get a ProVari...

Anyway, I must have been lucky because I've had several T3 and BCC Tabac clearos (and an Evod) and no leaks. Maybe the more recent version has been tweaked? There is a bit of learning curve with those, Lord Devon has a few nice tips.

Have a great weekend y'all!

OH you meant Shane starting a Blog...it been a REALLY BUSY day and I'm exhausted. I find the top coils (Vivi Nova) give a warmer vape. I use in order of preference:
Spinners, Twists, Kgo VV, Kgo, eGo and a Megalodon for long trips cuz of the 2200 batt. I like 1.7, 1.8 ohms @ 3.7- 4.0 volts. Also have Provari but OI gifted it to a person I've been mentoring for the past 12 yrs. He's bought a diff PV and has given it back to me so I loan it to friends who are thinking of VV Mod. Also trade it temporarily to try diff PVs. Planning on gifting the P to someone else...it was a gift so PIF the puppy

Yes in researching I found Lord Devon to be a great help- he's been a great member with some amazing videos and info. Yeah it seems some LOVE their T3 while others HATE them....but isn't that true about all this stuff LOLLLL- and you also have a great and safe weekend.

Am already looking at the x2 battery from SI and clearomizer lol doesn't take long does it?
You are nowhere close to being done with ordering stuff. :)
My third device will be here Monday. A 1.8 ohm Kanger EVOD BCC for more throat hit and a mini eGo battery for a stealth setup.
At one device a week it's still cheaper than smoking.

Vapoor and Katya were a great help in getting started. I thank you both.
My wife thanks you too but doesn't know it. She thought she was happy with the cigarette style until she tried an eGo battery with a clearomizer. Hence the new device in the mail.

Shane, take a look at the Canadian vaping forum too. I started a thread asking about the laws concerning vaping and nicotine in Canada. It turned out to be 10+ pages and very informative.

Hehe... I've been eyeing that mini eGo for awhile. Too cute. Not that I need another eGo, mind you...

Very nice choice. Watch Lord Devon's video above for some great tips on how to use your Evod.

Congratulations! And say hello to your wife! :)

Yup, Shane's blog! :D

We seem to have similar tastes when it comes to vaping. :)

I edited my post after watching Phil's video. I thought it was another tank with a carto inside. Sorry.

Anyway, back to work. Nice chatting with you!

Actually I've also got an SD Keyring- pretty well the same as the Mini eGo but automatic. I use it for concerts/ stealth vaping. Both the SD and the Mini eGo really ROCK- hard to believe that out of such a small batt comes 3.7 volts.

What did I tell you? I like my SD Keychain too. ;)

We do have similar tastes.

Yes a clearomizer without filler but made of glass. I use a sleeve to fill the thread gap between my Vivi Nova and batt- it screws on to the eGo threads and hides them nicely- also adds support to the tank.
Depending on the size of tank:

Truth be told, we are probably living in the golden era right now for vaping. Not illegal, and not taxed either. No matter which way they take it, it will cost us more of our hard earned dollars. They make it illegal it, black market steps up and cost goes up. They legalize it, tax the crap out of it, cost go up even further. I'm almost thinking this is the way to keep it forever, in that nice grey area :p

Hi Shane, congratulations on getting off cigarettes and for making such rapid progress ... can see I'll want to stay in touch as at this rate you are probably going to be able to build your own supplies if the government cracks down!

You have voiced something I have been pondering ... whether we are better off trying to lie low and just get the work out to other smokers rather than trying to publicize vaping to politicians Health Canada etc. It is not that material to me whether or not vaping is allowed in restaurants workplaces etc because it is not really any different that restrictions I am already used to from smoking ... what concerns me more is access to ejuice/supplies, reasonable costs, and the chance to quietly get the word out to other smokers that there is an option less damaging to their health. I am wondering if we are better off with a "don'task/don't tell" environment rather than pushing for decisions which may force the government to take action such as outright banning it, taxing it, cracking down on existing laws, issuing statements that it is dangerous which may discourage current smokers from considering the option ... etc etc etc.

Not saying these things are necessarily going to be avoided by keeping a low profile - guess I am just questioning what good is likely to result by increasing political visibility in comparison with probable negative outcomes.

Really good point to bring up.

Hi mkbilbo and welcome to ECF! Nice post!

Thanks. And glad to be here. Wish I'd found it before buying the Blu. But I got that disposable just for the heck of it. Try it out because I'd seen the TV ads. You know, ten bucks, what the heck?

Got busy at the computer on a website I've been working on for an artist friend. Did not realize I literally forgot to bring the cigs and the ashtray with me. Just the funny new toy. Nine hours later, I get off the computer, plop down on the couch, grab the regular cig pack out of sheer habit, light up... then sat a moment wondering how long it'd been since I lit one. Had to go pull out the receipt. Nine freaking hours I just flat forgot to smoke.

Heh, I thought, "Am I'm having a psychotic break and losing touch with reality or something?" :)

Anyway, I was just so bowled over, I went right back to the Walgreens and nabbed the "starter kit". Shoulda done more research, yeah. But I think I was kind of in shock. :)

Okay, ya lost me. But I'll catch up in time. :)

Though I see the eGo seems popular. The vape shop nearby has those. 'Course, I need to get my bearings more before making any big changes. What I got works okay (except for the one Battery of Random Charge). I do want to find (I believe it's called) a "pass through" since I spend a lot of time at my desk here. Just use the batteries when I'm out of the house.

Nothing wrong with the Blu, it got a lot people off cigarettes. It's overpriced and underperforming, in the long run, but a nice introduction to e-cigs.

It's kind of a frustrating product. It's a nice idea, looks sharp, has a definite "cool" factor to it. If they'd get their act together, they'd have a hell of a product.

But I will always have a soft spot for them. All those nightmarish, miserable attempts to quit and all the failures, then the Blu came along and I started to forget to light up? Um... wow? :)

Haven't quite escaped analogs yet but a two pack a day habit dropping to two or three cigs a day? I'm still trying to get my head around that...

Mark

Sorry I missed this one. Truer words never spoken. Actually they're proposing stiff Ecig laws down in Utah- 86% tax, NO internet sales, etc.
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-cigarettes-86-ban-online-sales-hb-372-a.html
FDA got stomped in court so individual states are taking action. Just last year New York was planning a State wide ban. Good news is Lorillard bought Blu Ecigs for 135 mill...Bad news is Blu believes in sealed nonrefillable cartridges, max 14 mg nicotine, no DIY and no bottled juice.

I was going to buy the SD Keyring but couldn't find one in Canada. I though the automatic would be an easier transition for my wife. She has gotten used to the button on my passthrough though.

Cdn Vendors used to dell the SD Keychain but no longer. Easy enough to import hardware from the U.S. as Customs and HC don't seize hardware. SD Keychain is only 350 mah while the manual Mini eGo is 400 mah. I chose the SD because there is no button that lights up= true stealth PV.

Hi, Mark, I'm sorry I didn't make myself clear. All I meant to say is that all new technology and innovation is being done for the devices that are 510/eGo threaded, like the eGo/Riva/KGO batteries. Like you said in your previous post, the Blu has a 510 connection, so you can try all kinds of 510 threaded clearomizers, cartos, tankomizers, what have you, on your Blu batteries.

If you're looking for a passthrough, I recommend one of the eGo models; they make the best ones, AFAIK. There are several kinds of passthroughs, though. The simplest and cheapest is basically a battery with a cord that plugs into your computer port. Then there is a nice model with detachable batteries--I like it because you can use it when it's plugged in and the battery recharges as you vape and, of course, you can unscrew the battery and take it with you if you need to go out. There is also a variable voltage passthrough.

Good luck and happy vaping.

Hello Vapoor!

Just one thing, the newer eGos actually output 3.5-3.6v under load. They have been tested (under load). Joyetech has heard our complaints. ;)

Rivas (another eGo clone) run at 3.7v under load (also tested).

Hi Katya. Thanks for clarification. So hard to keep up with this stuff

Thank you very much. I was trying to find that data and you must have read my mind. lonnnnnnggggg post and I had seen it before but never bothered to read all of it. Thanks again cuz even though I am a Kgo believer I always want to present facts honestly.

OK, time to eat my hat...

Since I also like to present facts honestly and get my facts right, I have to admit that my information about the increased underload voltage of the new eGos was based on hearsay and rather questionable videos. I have absolutely no proof that those batteries actually reach more than 3.3-3.4v. I went back to Scottbee's last tests and his results were "promising but not conclusive." I also checked Joyetech's website and their specifications state 3.3v regulated. Sorry.
