LOLLLLL they got us all wrapped around their finger. This a.m. they must have brought family in for March break- at least 30 of the critters just sitting patiently in the tree.

No I haven't watched it. Always thought of him as arrogant until I found out he was heavily into Martial Arts and then it all made sense. If I can free up some bandwidth I certainly will watch it. Thank you. Right now watching lots of Aussie and Brit TV. Did you know you can get access to U.S. Netflix for an extra $6 per month. Can also get some free U.S. stuff for free :D

I agree wholeheartedly and also treasure the lows...life would be so depressing if it were all highs. I have a friend - long story short his life is all highs/ no lows and has no purpose. Trying to get him motivated before he falls apart.

I thought he was a piece of #### until I saw his comedy, knew he was a world champion (no ....) black belt jiu jitsu dude lol. (there is one behind the scenes version of fear factor where he choked out a dude for getting lippy lol)

You can never show someone else their lows, I've learned this the hard way. Just hope it isn't death and that's all really.

I wonder sometimes what people think reading the forty some pages of this thread.......

It may sound weird, but one of the things I LOVE about vaping is blowing "O's". Call it strange, but it is one thing I loved about smoking, the playing with the smoke. I'm pretty damn good (if I do say so myself) at blowing a big O and a smaller o through that one. What I have noticed is a nice vape pull is much thicker like a good cigar and nice to play with, superior to cigs in every way :D

Nah, not weird. I never played around with the smoke but I like to smoke. Always have. That was and is a big problem with getting away from cigarettes. Also why I'm leaning to defending the cig-a-like around here (they have many detractors... for very valid reasons but still). There's a whole psychological and habitual thing going in smoking and it's a big part of it for me definitely. One thing that got me this far is doing things that seemed a bit silly. Like getting something that could be my "ashtray" and putting it where the ashtray would usually be and putting the Blu there. Heh, even caught myself "flicking ashes" a few times.

But one thing I still have trouble with is such things as first thing in the morning. There's just nothing quite like getting that first coffee and first cig, and sitting in the living room, taking a moment just to... I dunno, don't have good word for it. I wake slowly. Always have. It's a nice... intermediate? step before I have to take on the day. Something like that.

I did it this morning. Getting vaping slotted in to that "moment" is taking time. Have to find some combo of kit and juice that'll work. But it's gonna have to be something very cig like. Not Blu for sure but not too far away from the cig-a-like form factor.

I need my ritual. :)

The first cig in the morning is the hardest one to abandon, for many reasons. You're not the only one struggling, if that's any consolation. Remember that the first hit in the morning is so satisfactory because your body is almost completely depleted of nic and you get that extra ohh... feeling. Vaping doesn't do it, as the nic absorption from your eliquid is much slower and gradual.

There are a few things you may try, though.

1) The obvious one: increase your nic strength in your early morning atty and, if possible, increase the voltage. More heat (wattage) combined with higher nic content may help. Finding a dirty, ciglike tasting tobacco flavor may help also. In my case it happened to be RY4.

2) The less obvious one: is snus available in Cananda? If so, try a small white portion; General Mini Mint has probably the least offensive taste and is well tolerated by non-Scandinavians. Just stick a pouch under your lip for a few minutes and then proceed with your regular strength vape and see if that helps.

3) The new one: if you can, get an njoy King disposable e-cig. I don't know if they ship to Canada, but there is a number provided in the link for outside of US customers. I tried that free sample (menthol, 3.5% nic) and was floored. It is as close to the real thing as it gets. Of course, the regular price is ridiculous ($9), but if you can get their free sample, go for it.

FREE Sample - NJOY King Electronic Cigarette

4) The "so what" method: have a cig first thing in morning if you have to and don't worry about it. One cig is better than a pack or two a day, especially if that's what you need to do to stay sane. Most likely that urge to have one or two a day will disappear some day if you don't beat yourself up and feel guilty about it.

Happy vaping!

Actually, I'm the Texan. The Candian's up over dat way. :)

First thing on the agenda is upping the nic overall. The Joye arrived today but the liquids are in transit. And the one bottle I had was small. I was sampling so I got just the one and a small one. I noticed today I didn't go for the regular cig right off. I actually prefer the vaping now. It was a while before I got the urge for a "real one". I thought that was interesting in that I don't seem to like the "real ones" anymore.

You're right about the NJoy. It's amazingly close to the regular ones. They're about $8 here but last a while. I actually didn't care much for it because it was so realistic. The Blu disposable was more... interesting? Years of smoking the same brand, now I have variety. I think that's going to be a big help in getting away from the analogs.

For now, that's the one. I'm refusing to get riled up about it. If I just have to have a stink stick, I let myself do it. Though I have decided to make myself stand in the kitchen, not take the ashtray anywhere, and make it more... chore like? I'm enjoying the vaping more. I want the stinky ones to be even more boring and less attractive.

And tomorrow is officially two weeks. Just two weeks.

To have dropped this much in smoking in two weeks? Me? The guy who sometimes lit his next cigarette off the one in his mouth?

That's... that's progress...

Yes, it's progress! :D

Yes, being mistaken for Canadian is progress. :)

(I have a real love/hate thing going for my native state. If Katrina hadn't forced me back here, I wouldn't be here. I always said I liked being from Texas. I just don't wanna live here. I really don't wanna live here this summer. It's already hitting 90. This week. Oh. Goodie.)

I have a few friends and family members (all born and raised in California) who moved recently to Austin and they love it there. Yeah, it's hot, but SoCal can be hot too, especially inland. We're lucky to live close to the ocean, but the valleys are just a s hot as any place in Texas.

And taxes? Don't even get me started.

Just saying. :D

Oh yeah, forget inland. Lived in Long Beach most of my time out there. Walking distance to the beach. That was nice. Furthest inland was a while in Norwalk. And that was too far. Best part was being in the same electric rate zone as the beach cities and subsidizing their bills. Yeah, Manhattan Beach sure needed subsidies, what with how poor they were.

Ah and rolling blackouts. Good times!

Taxes? Dunno. Texas is hostile to taxes but our infrastructure is a mess. I used to love Austin when I was college age. Wanted to live here. Now? Just looks... run down. Potholed streets. Traffic that makes me almost miss the 105. And what do we get? Toll roads. Nice, smooth, 80mph toll roads. Which are great if you don't mind the second mortgage you need to pay the tolls and don't need to actually go into the city. Not to mention mass teacher layoffs and firefighting budget cuts in a state prone to wildfires. The one that ripped right by my neighborhood and took out 1600 homes was contained by a DC-10 fire suppressing plane on loan from... wait for it... California.

Sometimes, ya get whatcha pay for...

:danger: :offtopic: :admin:

We're getting dangerously close to breaking ECF rules--no politics in the general forums.

Whoops! Sulu! Evasive starboard!!!!

Din't know that was a rule. I should go reread the rules. And I get enough politics elsewhere. I could use a "no politics" hang out.

Just sayin'. ;)

Happy St. Patrick's Day, y'all! :D

Ah, even your avatar is wearin' the green eh? :)

Hey all, have another product evaluation from my pa's orders. He got the Antonio Villard disposable e cigars. They taste awesome, not to hard to draw like the cohita's, and are aesthetically nice .......BUT! They say they are supposed to last around 1500 puffs and this is total bs. They crapped out after a few hours each (maybe 200 puffs and that is being generous), and cost 12 bucks a piece ON SALE. Regular price is 199 for ten.......my thinking is they knew they were dangerously close to their shelf life and this is why they were on sale and only lasted a short while. They look very good and taste very good, might be worth it to buy one at regular price and see if they actually last as long as they said they will. Really nice packaging, is this why they are so expensive? If they lasted as long as advertised they would have been a 9/10, instead of a 3/10 (I hate someone paying so much for so little).

As for me, ordered my mega charging kit (which again I could have got instead of my slider PCC from SI for no extra charge with my starter kit, doh! 2200 mha battery and extra space for cartos, no reason to get the slider really) and another ten ks blanks. With my 20 points from my previous order and my 80 free points for my freebie (thanks to Vapoor!), I got 20 bucks off my order :D Vaping strong and happy, and in all honesty enjoy it more than smoking. Still have a mini cigar every couple days, can't help but give in to the other 1000 chemicals that I'm slowly becoming used to not having :p

Hi Shane. All those puff counts are a total BS. Can those cartos be refilled? Sorry if this is a stupid question; I'm a total noob when it comes to cigars.

Way to go! :toast:

Yes the puff counts are mostly underestimated, but I don't feel as these are even close to the others. Most places say that a carto is equivalent to a pack of analogs, in my experience so far I'd say about 2 to 3 cartos is a pack. This is way out for the price, seriously claim 1500 and last around 150?. And no, it is a sealed unit, doesn't come apart without wrecking the thing. Too bad, they really do taste great and look awesome, but appear to be a rip off big time.

He's got one left, I will dismantle and show pics when he is done with it
