Interesting find from:

Peppermint Essential Oil - Pure Undiluted! - 2 oz.

Prices works out to $5.99 for 60ml

Hey Unperson, I would check with other DIYers before using essential oils for vaping. I might be totally wrong about this, but I remember reading that inhaling some essential oils is dangerous. Actually now that I think of it, menthol crystals probably have essential oils in them. So, maybe they are totally fine to use, but I would still double check on that. Lol, I hope that helps.

I'm a Halo fan too but recently Johnson creek sent me an Arctic Menthol sample with an order I made and it was great. There is something about that base they use that goes really well with menthol.

I'm going to keep using both because those two liquids are like flipsides of a coin.

The Halo is light, airy and fresh and the JC is heavy, dark and rich.

My menthol search is mostly over although there are still more I want to try, I hear Jantys polar-(mint? Ice?...polar something sorry i forget the name) is great and I would also still like to try ecopures menthol version too.

matrixdutch and tmbrown327, please don't use this thread for a debate on '*.cn' vs the world. I've no issues with debates as they "can" be informative, but the issue you two are addressing isn't germane to the OT. Start a different thread to continue the convo if you like.

Sorry, just hit a sore spot with me.

FWIW, as a menthol smoker and now vaper, Halo has the magic. I have buckets of the menthols from various suppliers, all became medicinal quickly, even the mixtures I made myself with menthol drops (which are just the menthol crystals dissolved in ethanol). I can't use any of them now, they make me just about gag.

Seems like the DIYer has to start with a tobacco base of some kind, and then just barely wave the menthol at the juice to get what you need. Most DIYers are mixing in small amounts, so adding even a drop of menthol completely overwhelms the taste (IMO). Good luck, but definitely try the Halo, not a traditional menthol, but better.

Thanks for the reply. You raised a different issue that I may need to look into in a different post. Specifically, e-juice shelf life. Hadn't thought about that.

Thanks again :)

Little late catching this thread....But I can't even remember how many different menthols I have tried in the past 12 months....Therefore I consider myself a menthol connoisseur (Since that is all I vape)Without question the best Menthol e-liquid I have had is the ELP(EliquidPlanet)-Ice American Essence Eliquid This US E-Liquid is far superior to any Chinese liquids on the market IMO.While I still use my other menthols(Can't throw them away)....This is my new liquid of choice..Give it a try..Well worth the cost!!

that is the number 2 reason behind taste as to why DIY my own menthol juice. DIY i can adjust to my perfect taste. with me doing the work , it ends up only costing me about .10 to 15 cents a ml for my mix of about 30 mg. that is a big reason to DIY.

I do the same thing. I mix 555 with kamel from dekang or v4l and gradually add a strong mental from totally wicked. I mix around 18-24 mg strength and I like it. Sometimes I go back and fourth with a analog newport and I am shocked at how close it is.

What is your method or recipe?

I would like to add that Halo menthols are amazing. I have run the gamut, and there is a certain crispness with airy vanilla taste to their menthols which are distinct.

Also, Halo menthols are the only PG liquids that have not given me stomach issues. I tried 3 different VG menthols and they all tasted like cough syrup.

Another major point is that Chinese made eliquid is notorious for being manufactured with Pesticide-Grade Nicotine, and industrial Propylene Glycol. These contaminated ingredients pose an increasing and unnecessary risk to e-cigarette users throughout the world.

Halo FTW.

"Chinese smoke juice is notorious for being manufactured with Pesticide-Grade Nicotine, and industrial Propylene Glycol"

The above quote was taken from the Halo website.
