Stay safe and warm!!!
Yep time to scamper go home have some captain crunch take a napMassachusetts Gov. Patrick has declared a State of Emergency and banned all traffic starting at 4PM. Guess I should start getting ready to go home soon.![]()
I'm not sure if I count as S. Mi. -- I'm in Lansing area. But 6 inches of snow is very mehDidn't even stop my 2wd compact from getting over a plowed pile of snow behind my driveway and going to work. And, as it turns out, Reo Grand works great in a blizzard, so yay! Reminds me of the pain of snow extinguishing my stinkies last winter (and 24 winters before that)
Here in CT! - I'm ready! -Generator full of gas, fridge stocked, Netflix, got beer, got coffee, got ejuice, got my 2 REOs, got my Hornets, charged batteries - BRING IT ON storm NEMO!!!![]()
So far so good. I'm at work (Logan Airport) but hope to get out of here by 3 this afternoon. It's snowing right now, but it's really only heavy flurries. Wind is picking up, but Logan is a big open space on the waterfront, so that's not out of the norm. The worst of the storm is supposed to happen tonight, say from 7PM through early morning Saturday. Forcasting up to 3 feet of snow and 70 mph wind gusts, HooHar! I live 15 miles north of Boston, and we should be one of the heaviest hit areas. I'll post later as things get more fun!

Thank you Kay! Glad he was able to contact you. I can't believe he didn't know! It should be all over the news channels.

Will do, Karen, and I'll tell him about the thread you started. As a matter of fact, I'll call him and leave it on his answering machine....

I would gladly give up my baby, the Koa VV for seven feet of snow. (The worst we've ever had up here at one time was 7 feet 9 inches.) Last winter we had a snow drought and the entire front range almost burnt to the ground. By this time we should have had around 100 to 130 inches but have yet to hit the 20 inch mark total since October.
My well is going dry, as are others on the mountain, which causes me to make a daily decision... do a load of laundry or take a shower. Needless to sat on dance nights no laundry is done.
Kinda puts a crimp on inviting ladies up here so if they don't own their own house I don't date 'em. Hey, don't judge me, long hot showers aren't just for getting clean.
Of course I really won't have to worry about a dry well this spring... the raging forest fires will make sure there are no faucets to turn on.
Everyone in the path of the blizzard just stock up on canned foods, water, batteries and hunker down. Being stuck in your house for a couple of weeks isn't the end of the world and can even be kinda fun.
If you're going to shovel keep in mind that this storm is carrying a lot of moisture and the snow will be very heavy. Pretty much a heart attack waiting to happen. (Hint: There's never been a time in the history of mankind that the sun hasn't melted snow. Work smart... not hard.)
Good luck.
Jack
Congratulations Kay!!! You hit 5000 post with this one!!! Dang you post a lot! LOL!

P.S. and a handheld can opener:DYou might wanna get a camp stove and a percolater, if you drink coffee.
That's why God invented pull top soup and stew cans. He also invented wood stoves to heat the house, cook food, melt pans of snow for water and ambiance for those romantic hours... or days.
OH, DAMN... I gotta order another drum of little Blue pills! Wait, we're not getting snow, I can drive down the hill and get resupplied every week all by myself. (They let me use their forklift.)
