I found a juice to stick with (until my new order gets here... lol) and I only have the one device, an eGo Twist, yet my experience vaping can be radically different throughout the day. Seems to maybe have something to do with the strength of the battery at any given time... freshly charged, running normally or almost dead? Maybe?

After spending the first couple of days twisting this poor device randomly, I found the setting that works best with my ADV and thought that would effectively fix the problem. But no.

There's an excellent chance I'm doing something wrong but I thought I'd bring it up in case this is normal. Also hoping for some advice as to how to get more consistency.

In other words: Hayulp! Hayulp!

I am relatively new to vaping but am beginning to think this is the nature of the beast. Last week I was vaping my butterscotch juice using an MT3 on my VZ Vari4 (Vamo) and every hit was delicious. Last night same juice, same setup and no flavor at all. Today, vaping that juice on my Joye 510 with V-nano at the office and all the taste is there. Go figure!

Kanger T3.. bottom coil.

For the sake of full disclosure, I have abused both the clearo and the battery because they're really all I have until my FastTech order gets here. The battery gets charged for 20 min or all night, depending on whether I'm having a major nicotine attack or if I'm able to sleep and put the stupid thing down. SO close to smoking last night but I decided I'd rather risk screwing up a $20 battery than picking up a cigarette.

I've also been careless with cleaning/drying the clearo.

Yes, I know. I know.

Hello,

Started Vaping : July 1st, 2013 - Monday

I just started vaping yesterday.... I noticed that too.... and I noticed it almost right away.
I'm twisting my battery too... trying to figure it out.
The strength of the vape is not consistent. I've tried pressing the button 2 seconds before dragging.
I've tried dragging harder.... I would shake my clearomizer often.... I'm just trying to figure this thing out.

My personal experience, and I've been at this 4 years, is that anything with a wick is going to be inconsistent. Even when it's functioning at its best. And at the risk of being deluged by FT fanboys, that FT order is not going to fix your problems. Everything I've ordered from there is inconsistent. Ranging from not working at all without some tinkering, to working great for a short period of time.

My recommendation is to use cartomizers and tank cartomizers. Find the voltage and resistance you like best, and stick with it. They are for more reliable (consistent) than clearos and don't have nearly the failure rate.

And if you do decide to use tanks, do not use the FT tank cartomizers. They are not good.

If you only have one battery then that definitely sounds like the problem.
You should go to a brick and mortar shop in your area and get another battery.

TwentyYrsPlusSmokr : I've got this click/draw - click/draw thing going on that I like. Basically it's a double click with a draw in between them. That twisting thing seems to come in handy with different juices because the setting that almost made throw one juice out is perfection with another.

Vapor Vinny: Well that just sucks. lol I had the opportunity to try one blank carto and I fried it the *first* time I fired it up. The first time, no kidding, and the resulting smoke and God-awful taste was enough to make me put them down for a very long time, if not forever.

I AM thinking about dripping, if I can every figure it out.

I think there is a lot of truth in this. I have a couple of mega-cartos and find them far more consistent. I have not tried carto-tanks yet. I am trying to control the spending at least for a little while.

If a T3 or MT3 gets low on juice, it has a significant effect on vapor volume and flavor. The draw tends to be airy and longer because of the lack of juice and vacuum created in the tank. EVOD's also have some of these issues, but less so than the M/T3.

Where you vape can have an effect, too. Outdoors, during dry hot weather with a breeze, you might think you're not getting any vapor at all because it evaporates and disappears so quickly. Indoors, away from an A/C vent and with the light just right, it looks and feels like a fog machine.

If you fried it, you probably didn't feel it correctly. Dripping is good, but a pain. If you haven't tried tanks and/or cartomizers, try it. It's a cheap and effective option. I've never been able to use any wick oriented delivery device to work well on what I consider a consistent basis.

I vape for a few weeks on one tank cartomizer and get consistent results throughout. At some point, they die. It really does matter where you get your products. All clearos and carts are not created equally.

It's small step up in price, but worth to be able to go all day on one fill. Stainless steel cartomizers can be punched and used in tanks, so you can vape for the same price.

I don't mind replacing things periodically but I'd like to get consistency for more than one pleasant evening. I'll probably try cartos again after I get the FT order and see what I actually have. . . I expected some 'duds' in the order but until I check everything out I won't know how many.

How depleted a battery is will effect how well it works. In the evening I can tell without looking that my battery charge is getting low because it just lacks any "umph". If it were not an issue they wouldn't have worked out those "variable watt" batteries that hold a setting till they are too depleted to go on. It can also happen if you don't hydrate enough or if you vape the same flavor all day. Those two can lead to the dreaded "vapors tongue". And if you have just quit smoking there is also the fact that your taste buds are just not super dependable yet.

You're new, and it should be pointed out, that no matter what setup you use, there are going to be times when you just can't taste your ejuice. It happens to me for some period every day. So be prepared for that.

Inconstancy in vaping is what has drained my bank account...I'm constantly trying to find that perfect set-up and consistent ADV flavor. In my month long quest, I have started to really appreciate the journey of finding it.

Although with my limited knowledge, I have been able to come up with a few tricks that I use to make it easier.

The battery issue was my biggest problem, I would always be losing charge and it would make me crave vaping more when my battery was dying or charging. If you want an ego set-up, I would recommend finding a pass-through battery that allows you to charge and vape at the same time. I have an ego V V2 mega that does this as well as a Ego C Upgrade. If you want to go the mod route, go with a Vamo and get multiple batteries to replace while they charge. I just got mine last night and it has done wonders.

Secondly, don't order tanks from FastTech unless it is the actual brand name product. The knockoffs have a really inconsistent flavor to them. Getting a battery from them is good, especially the Vamo

Also, buy several different tank types even if you think you like a specific one. I would recommend trying at least 4 different kinds (2 Bottom Coil and 2 Top Coil) before settling in on one. My suggestions: iClear 16 & Vivi Nova for a top coil and ProTank and Evod for your bottom coil. Once you find the one you like best, get a few more of your favorite tank, but don't count out your other tanks either. You may like the iClear, but then one day notice that you like a certain flavor in the ProTank that you can't stand in the iClear.

Thirdly, never throw anything away. You don't know how many times I have been on the verge of throwing out a tank, a juice or something else that I later come back to and love. Vaping changes with your mood, and some days your favorites just don't taste that good. Just move on to something else until you find what you like that day.

Anyway, those are just a few tips that have made my journey more enjoyable and easier. I also believe that the Vamo does make your hits on tanks alot more consistent, so that is just another pitch for that fantastic device.

Always user primer puffs with any delivery device. Always, always have extras batteries. The charge will deplete throughout the usage, the higher the voltage used, the faster it drains. Always carry a spare.

Lessons learn early on will keep you sane in the long term.

Also, rotate flavors! Or else your mind/tongue will get bored.

I hope your day gets better. Hang in there. It gets better once you figure it out and get enough tools.
