I Agree.

And that is Why I started this Thread...

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/diy-e-liquid/642648-1l-100mg-nic-base-went-up-830-00-a-4.html

There are Many Ways to Fight a proposed piece of Legislation at the Grassroots level. But they ALL Start the Same Way.

Phase One: Get As Many People as Possible Aware of the Proposed Legislation.

After a Base of Awareness has been Established, getting the Media involved is Critical.

The MEDIA, Exactly, spot on.

If you have read any of my post about my Local Paper. You will know it works. Our Paper had an article about this new law proposal bout 3 wks ago. I replied to it with a article to our Paper Public Forum. Then the paper contacted me for an interview on a article they was going to right on taxes and restrictions on E-CIGS. Here is the article links, they even took a photo of me vaping which I feel was a great help. It showed someone vaping, vapors are REAL PEOPLE and VOTERS!!!!

Smoking debate burns on: Indiana lawmakers consider new bill - Pharos-Tribune: Local News

Logansport reacts to nicotine proposal - Pharos-Tribune: Local News

SO GET YOUR MEDIA INVOLED in EVERY TOWN in INDIANA.

I went to http://www................../ and seen no info on time and place in Indy(directions)

p.s. Will we be aloud to Vap during the meeting?

Sorry, going through some technical issues with the club's website. (Don't know why ECF is blocking a social\political club that supports vaping, but that's what the link looks like to me.). That's why I said it is in the events page of our Facebook page. I have the link to both in my sig, so it will be on the "Like Hoosier Vapers on Facebook" one.

Having $0.00 budget and all volunteer vapers means our tech isn't always up to snuff. We're just vapers trying to help our fellow Hoosier vapers.

As long as you don't mind violating Indianapolis law, you can vape to your hearts content. I don't see why any attendees would say anything. That law is what caused the club to form...

A person may not purchase, receive, manufacture, import, or transport, or cause to be imported or transported from another state, territory, or country into Indiana, or transport, ship, barter, give away, exchange, furnish, or otherwise handle or dispose of e-liquid, or to possess e-liquid for purpose of sale........................
........................Consumers should note that the pre-filled cartomizers marketed by big tobacco are exempt of these proposed regulations. In my opinion, this is not a coincidence and further highlights the increasing "government by Corporation" trend in the United States.

****************************************

I don't know much about bills and how they pass. But does this mean what I think it means? Two bills Indiana is trying to pass,SB 539 and HB 1432, have this in them. Which means if passed any e-juice I use I have to buy from inside Indiana, is that right. What a load of crap. Essentially it looks like tobacco companies are bribeing Legislators to drive Ind. Vapor Shops out of business.

I say Indiana Gov. can kiss my other side. I DIY and no matter what I will still continue to order my Nicotine from Florida, throw me in jail if you have to I could care less.

It certainly doesn't seem legal, at all, but definitely shows some serious thought is being put into this by our state. These bills really bring home the fact that vaping *has* become a serious threat. They're including crazy things like armed guards being required in all vape shops and the affective date of the bill for the permits being July1st but the application process for the permits not being started until after July 1st! This is some insane stuff.

What can we do with this commerce clause information?

To be Honest with you, I Don't Know. Or even if it can be Used in this Instance.

But I know that people like CASAA and SFATA have Lawyers who advise them. And I am sure that they are Evaluating it if they weren't Doing so Already.

You will be able to buy juice from out of state as long as you do not sell, or barter, it and it is only used for personal consumption. The bill is written to kill any and all vaping shops, but leave the gas station cig-alikes alone.

Commerce clause won't stop the law. It just allows for a lawsuit. Since the law goes into effect at the same date as the agency who will write the licensing regs is allowed to start writing them, this means the lawsuit will have to be funded by the exact same people who have had their income eliminated. Only parties impacted by a law may challenge it in court.

106 vapers at the meeting last night by the final door count. If every one of those can get 10 people to sign letters against each bill, we have a good shot at stopping this before it gets to the governor's desk. This is going to be our toughest fight yet and probably a hint of what is coming for other states...

I'm trying to get a copy of those 5 letters from my local vape shop who was present yesterday so I can make my own copies and have family and friends sign. Also if any fellow Hoosiers here would like a copy of these letters to sign, if I can get a copy of them, pm me your address and I'll send you a copy and you can make copies to pass out as well too. If you have a local vape shop in your area call them and see if they have these letters for you to come in and sign, they should also have a petition for you to sign.

Hoosier, can you find out what address in our state capital these letters would need to be sent to? Or perhaps they can be sent back to me and I can deliver them to my local vape shop? It actually wouldn't be a bad idea to post a link to those letters somehow so Hoosiers here at ECF can print them up.

I will be posting a link to the letters when we get them distributed to the council. I'll include the address to send them to as we have to make copies of each signed letter for each committee member and we plan on a hand delivery. (If we didn't do the copying part, folks would have to sign about 60 letters to get all the members of the committees of the 5 bills.)

Right now we are working on getting packets out to the shops in Indy, so it might be a bit yet before I can post a link. (It is high on our agenda list though...lots to do...)

Hoosier Vapers have contacted shops we know have legislation packets and asked for them to bring the signed letters against SB 539,and petitions, to the lobby of the Statehouse. Gathering at 8:45am Thursday 1/29/15 in the lobby of the state house just past the security check. All vapers in the state are strongly encouraged to attend this gathering as a strong showing here can have a huge impact on getting our message to the Senate and the members of the Commerce and Technology committee specifically.

Currently pushing it out on Facebook. Post on club's website to follow.
