Hope you can make the rally tomorrow. I have seen folks in the NW corner of the state arranging carpooling. Should be folks from Valpo to Clarksville there tomorrow.

(Those are opposite corners of this state for non-Hoosiers.)

We need everybody there. We hope to overfill the hearing audience too and spill out into the hallway. They are expecting to ram this through before Hoosiers know about it.

I just talked to Max at Vapin N Valpo and he said they overnighted their letters yesterday and that they're considering closing all three stores so they can all make it down there tomorrow. He said they may as well close shop for one day to fight this because if this bill passes they'll be shut down anyway.

Has the Local Media been contacted? Or is that not part of this Phase?

Hoosier mentions on a post he posted 4 hours ago on the Hoosier Vapers Facebook page that there will be media present.

Well, that was another club council member, but it's correct. The media has been contacted. I'm not alone in this fight and that feels darn good.

Met Max last Sunday, nice guy. Hope he makes it down with the whole crew.

Well then, I shall copy and paste for you....

Urgent! Please share this on your pages, facebook groups, and store pages. We need to make sure as many vapers here in Indiana see this as possible!

You have probably heard that the State Senate fast-tracked SB 539 today. This yesterday afternoon the Chairman of the Technology and Commerce committee, Sen. James Buck, scheduled the bill for a hearing on... Thursday morning. That’s less than 48 hours’ notice. We did hear today that there had been talk in the Statehouse about our letter writing campaign.

Let’s go over the current game plan.
First, please let us know if you will be at the hearing on tomorrow, how many signed letters you have, and if you won’t be at the meeting how you can get them to us by 9pm tonight.

Thursday January 29th, at 9am in room 233. We will be gathering on the main floor just beyond the East entrance security at 8:30am. Look for the “I Vape I vote” signs. We do not know how long the meeting will last. It will depend on when they call the bill.
Statehouse – 200 W. Washington St. Indianapolis, IN

Parking may be hard to find. It’s recommended that you use a pay by the hour parking lot/garage and walk over. Again, we may be there for a while and it will be difficult to “feed the meter”.
During the meeting please keep calm and quite and respectful. No cheering or booing. Please silence your phones. No vaping in the building or on the Statehouse grounds.

After the meeting, please go to the main floor and wait. We are going to gather for photos and media interviews. Again, we need the media to see and report on the strong opposition to this bill. The media will most likely cover the hearing afterwards. If you are approached by a reporter, but don’t feel comfortable talking with them...please find another merchant or a member of the council.

Thank you for posting this. Facebook is Great. But It Only reaches people who use Facebook. And then go to See it.

Every Person who has Purchased Anything or been in a B&M in Indiana should be Contacting those B&M's with Bill Info, Meeting Info with Address and Contact Info and Links to ECF Threads and Facebook.

And if there are Available volunteers, they should be Gathering e-Mail address thru Google of Indiana B&M's so they can be Contacted and Given Info and Flyers to give to there Customers.

I did a quick Google Maps search for "Indiana Vape shop"

https://www.google.com/maps/search/Indiana+vape+shop/@38.6639596,-83.7249075,6z

Then I started scrolling thru the Listings 10 at a Time. I stopped at around 130. Think how Many Vapers could be Reached if those First 130 Vapes Shops were sent a One Page Flyer about what is happing to hand out to their Customers?

Think how Many Vapers could be Reach if ALL of those Vape Shops were Contacted?

In the words of Arlo Guthrie... "It would start to look like a Movement."

We've got about 3\4's of them on our contact list. About 60% of those are responding aggressively.

We have reports of owners of multiple shops that are shutting down all locations tomorrow and coming to Indy. (single shop owners too) They are coming with signs petitions and letters from their customers. Vapers are organizing carpools. It's shaping up to be a wondrous thing if everyone follows through.

Oh, I'm seeing a movement from here.

I'll bet pennysmalls is a mover and shaker in what I'm seeing too...

This is the simple flyer that we have been handing out all week as well as asking every customer to sign the attached petition. Outstanding response so far.

Please feel free to use.

Indiana Legislative Update!

The Senate bill has been referred to the Commerce & Technology Committee. The committee has their first hearing on this bill this Thursday.

It is apparent that these bills are being fast tracked and we must let the legislators know how we, as vapers, are against this over regulation.

It is imperative that everyone call 1-800-382-9467 and tell the attendant:

"I'm calling to let Senator James Buck and the other members of the Commerce and Technology committee know that I strongly oppose SB 539 the regulation of e-liquids and would like them to reject it."

We have a chance if we all work together. Quite frankly, the future of Vapor Shops in the state of Indiana depends on this.

I checked with work today about taking tomorrow off. It's a no go. I drive school bus and our two substitute drivers are covering routes for drivers who are pretty sick. I thought we had four subs but apparently two quit recently, I didn't know they left. I'm stuck, this isn't the kind of job where you can just call off and they make do without you for a day, almost two hundred kids ride my bus. Ironic really, I'm sure tobacco tax money is what funds our schools and therefore pays my wages.
