Yeeeeeah I sorta wasn't thinking when I installed those coils. Because the high/low arrangement is clearly the better way. That wasn't me trying something out or being clever in any way, shape, or form. It was me being dense. :)

I've never had luck with vertical coils in anything but drippers. I'd have to see the coil positioning and wicking before I gave it a shot myself. Definitely sounds interesting though!

Edit: I also have to say I have never seen a V-deck build duals like that with one coil in the bottom holes and the other in the top. I have always used the high/low hole arrangement to catch the upper and lower leg of the coil because, of course, it is exactly reversed on the other side of the posts. I will further add, if big flavor is where you want to be, and you're not vaping super-high watts where you need massive juice flow, you might try verticals with a horseshoe wick, if the wick will fit in the barrel without blocking the chimney.

Might not be all that easy to arrange on that deck. You'd have to split the tails and lead them out opposite channels, and even then prevent them from blocking the air intake. This might require positioning closer to the posts and would almost certainly require a small number of wraps to shorten the coil length as much as possible. I only said it because I usually build my Velocitys like that; and the MT doesn't have that option. It is also possible, on that type deck, to build a small diameter horizontal coil between the posts. Or two of them, one above the other. Not too sure how that would work with the bottom air like that; the Velocity dripper uses side air.

OK! So i finally got the Octo-Claptons for my TFV4! Look at the size of this sucker compared to the rba! I'm glad I got the full size atty cuz the size of this thing & the juice consumption might make the mini more like a dripper! LOL! This coil, like the sextuple, wants 85w+ to even really fire properly to me! This coil takes Taste Furious to a whole new level for me! It brings out every flavor of my favorite DIY Peach, Apricot, Cheesecake juice! If you don't like a good throat hit this may not be the coil for you! My juices typically run 6mg NIC, 40pg/60vg & the first hit at 100w almost made me cough! LOL! 2 other things that might be deal breakers for some are; 1) At 100+watts this thing can really suck down batteries & it's definately a warm vape. 2) Juice consumption, you can almost watch your juice level go down as you vape! For me this has got to be the best prebuilt coil I've used so far! Enough of my raving over this thing, here's the pic!

I'm glad I ordered 25 of those coils when FT had that coupon code. $15.50 a pack is what I ended up paying for them.
Now I'm ordering a full sized tfv4 and trying to sell my mini

Nice to know the sextuples are so good! I will hafta give'em a try, eventually. :)
I'm running a sextuple coil in my tfv4 mini right now and I don't care for it, I didn't like the quad coils either. The clp-2 dual Clapton coil at 80 watts was a amazing Vape. I was going to order those on FT til is saw the tf-t8 coils for $15.50 a pack.

Im just so damn hooked on Clapton coils at the moment. I have stainless 26/28g 3mm Claptons in my troll and phenotype L rda.

The only other wire I'll use is fused Clapton for a rda, the flavor and vapor density is unreal with Clapton wire

Yep, I want to see 8 claptons shoved in there :D I once put 4 vertical ones in the Aromamizer, and that was a tough fit.
It's like 4 sets of duals in a square pattern vertically in a HUGE tube! I mean it reduces the juice volume alot! Once your juice level gets down to the sides of the coil you might as well have a straw in the tank as fast as the level goes down! The wicking on this thing is amazing too! Make sure you prime it well then vape your tank dry, refill, repeat! No leaks & no burnt hits after like 4 tanks so far! I'll try to get my wife ( she doesn't shake) to take a good pic tonight but there's not much to see!

Mmw, did you get a chance to check the nicr ribbon out? Im still "grounded" from buying anything but tempted to order a spool to my office and blend it into the rest of my stuff after it arrives lol.
My wife told me I was outta control cuz I spent $112 on DIY stuff yesterday! She's really gonna .... when she finds out that included 1000 mls of pg & 1000mls of vg! Not to mention the 3 120mls of Rasberry, Cheesecake, & Marshmallow! My supplies are quickly overfilling my storage! But gosh how I love my fruity DIY!:headbang:

Lol, I've still got the liter of pg I ordered last August untouched and 1.5 gal of vg. It was when she saw the half of a shelf of flavorings and rda boxes and rta boxes stacked beside them she had a cow. What she doesnt understand is I have to buy 2 of everything gear wise so she has one too lol. I've been revisiting some of the rdas I have already lately though so it's not so bad. Built my first tiger wire set over the weekend and put in the velocity (tobeco clone). Gotta say, for what it is and being double my usual resistance I'm pretty happy with em. Flavor is almost on par with my usual clapton builds and I think the cloud is visually bigger too. Its a 28g nicr tigered with ka1 ribbon. Thinking of redoing my rtas with it tbh but really tempted to get the nicr ribbon before i do that.

Not yet. My spendy list keeps growing though. I buy two or three things on the list and the next week I add five more items. Da Fuch!!??
