510s are the weak point. Nice FDV or Varitube ones are $4-5 each. I have like 10 here for repairing/making mods. If I find out the FDA is going to crap on us, I'll grab a few more, although I doubt they would be looking at those. But, its possible they may be harder to find if vape businesses start closing.

If you have a mod die, hang onto it for parts.

I have an M7 x .5 tap. I can make 'em, if I have to :)

Thanks for the replies gang. I don't have the tools or skills to replace the 510, so I might eventually be taking you up on your offer, suprtrkr! Hopefully it doesn't come to that.

Wicking the TFV4 is easier than it appears, at least on the stock deck, which all I have at the moment. So I can't really help much.

It doesn't look to be hard, really. About an hour's work. Take out the sled, unsolder the board, unsolder the 510, bore a hole in the top of the mod, screw in the connector, solder it up, reinstall the board, dremel out the back of the sled, screw it back in and outta here. I have a drill press; that makes doing the hole easy. Just build a plywood jig to locate the mod base. Once you had that you could do ten of them in about twice the time it takes to do one :)

It wa about an hour or so on the first one I did. then when I took it back apart to do the pics it was a lot less. Really the time consuming part was test fitting to find out how much of the sled I needed to trim. But now that I know, and have a couple live and working examples I dont see it taking much time at all.

Heres a link to the walk through to replace it... Replacing the 510 in an RX200... Fairly easy actually.

If it comes down to it, PM me and we can talk about it. I have no issues with you sending me yours to drop a new 510 in it.

I know this isn't the TFV4 thread, but this is what I worked on today. It is, by leaps and bounds, the best cloud-maker I've built that still has solid flavor that you don't have to hunt for.
I guess it just took a while for me to realize that a big fat coil needed to live above that big airhole. 28 gauge kanthal, rayon. I can chain-vape it at 30 watts, as it's just a 1.02Ω coil.

What diameter did you wrap it? I've been thinking of getting back to another build on my tfv4 since its been sitting for so long.
