I have a black delrin insulated that came with the herakles that might work......for myself I mean
I don't have a Herakles, but after posting that last night,i decided to look through all my spare drip tips, and the ones on other tanks and rda's that i have, and found one that is perfect for me.It is stainless at the bottom, with a short black delrin in the top.It is just a bit longer than the stock one,but much cooler on the lips, and since my mt is black,it matches the black and stainless of the tank,so it looks like it was meant to be there haha.

Hello Everyone. Great thread. I've had mine a couple days now. Question on coil and wick. I built my coil with 26 gauge, 8 wraps, dual on a 2.4 mm rod. I use cellucotton. I have a good amount of cotton as far as thickness but didn't push it completely around the well next to center post. I've had some leaking but only when I fill the tank. I am sure you all have a better method. I tried to reverse read the thread but only made it to page 47 when I caved and decided to just ask. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Been using both my mt for a couple weeks. Every now and then I'll use a thin juice and get a little flooding on refilling. Last night I tried a trick on the mt... Before I put my coils in I took a thin piece of cotton bacon and laid it in the juice channel that surrounds the center post and joins all the channels together. Not enough to stop juice from flowing between the 4 juice wells, but enough to slow it down if juice finds its way through one of the wick holes. Because the way it was setup, if one tail lets juice in, it totally soaks the deck from the backside of the other 3 wicks and floods everything. So far working great. I then wicked it like normal. It's working great on thin juice, and no problems on Max vg either. I like the " juice sharing" between the wick channels, but if it gets in there it's just sloshing around and wetting the backs of the other wick. It's not packed tight enough to impede "juice sharing" it just acts like a buffer, or a baffle. i don't know if anyone else has done this, but let me know what you guys think!

I normally build at 3mm just so the cotton can be slightly thicker. I cut my cotton from KGD pads at about 5-6mm width, skin them front and back and rol them against my leg to slightly round them, not compress them. then I pinch one end and thread the wick through the coil centering the coil on the strip. I wet the wick so it is easier to form and using a pokey (Technical term for a straightened out and sharpened paperclip) I poke and tuck it into teh juice holes. not to tight, but I normally push and prod it until its all in the channel towards the center post. I leave the ends long so that when I screw the chimney cap on the cotton sticks out through the holes. after teh cap is screwed on I trim the cotton so that it is just outside the holes. then I carefully screw the top cap/glass on. If you notice that the lower silicone seal is twisting/distorting the cotton poking from the holes you may do what i do with is to pop the silicone off the glass and put it in place before fitting the coils and wick. that way it is already out of the way when you put the glass on.

I have never had this tank leak on me yet doing it this way. Good luck.

I use 50/50 juice. When I wick it ends up filling the whole channel all the way back to the center post.
The channels are set up like an X almost.
The direct front and back part of the post where the X would meet is empty the wick from the four channels does hit the post.

@ Everpresent noob: you bring up a good point about the seals. I no longer leave tails out and trim, but when I did that I noticed the deal would sometimes push the wick to the side and cause issues. I now place my seal on b4 wicking, and hold the glass from spinning when tightening the top, out of habit. It's a good thing the channels are all joined, but laying a light wick in there helps keep it from puddling in there, and if it does puddle and yor tank gets tipped, it won't run into the airflow holes, and leak

I haven't found it necessary to rewick yet, but I was planning on layingba strip of rayon on the deck through the juice channels, then bringing the coil fed wicks out on top of them.

Try wrapping the rayon around the center post and lightly tucking into the channel there, then wick as usual.

Regarding the drip tip issue, I am personally fond of Pyrex rather than Delrin, and I have been using this one, a glass tip on a finned SS base. It's an off brand-- "private label" for the snooty among us-- and thus about half price of the Delrin part shown above. The hole in the base measures about a tenth of a millimeter smaller than the stock tip, but it seems to draw better (yes, I know how crazy that sounds, but it's true.) I am running mine at .3 Ohms and 40 watts and I am not getting a heat problem. All this FWIW; I definitely think it looks better-- at least on the SS version-- than a Delrin tip:
