I'm thinking this is posted somewhere in this thread so I'll be looking back for the pictures that I know are there, but what is the best way to wick this in a balanced way? I originally had it packed relatively loosely and the flavor was great (also when the coils were brand new). I've rewicked since then and packed the living crap out of the channels which seemed to mute the flavor a bit and also lead to dry hits (not really dry hits, just not as saturated). Now I've tried somewhere in between and the flavor still isn't the same as when I first put the coils in. I know wicking impacts the flavor, but I've been dry burning the coils between rewicks - could this be a reason for the flavor drop? (obviously new to this). Edit: went to page 41 and found what the wicking should look like. I have 2.5 mm coils and I feel like the 2.8 or 3mm coils would be easier for me to wick as a newb. Going to try the page 41 wicking method out and report back.

Have you tried jimmy the juice man caramel pear? I think it may be up your alley from what I gather from your diy post. The pear isn't too heavy. My favorite adv is a caramel apple from a local b&m and it's to die for. Pretty flavor intense and stays with your palette long after your last vape

Yes, I do like that juice, which is why I'm looking to create a replacement for it. Mine isn't the same, obviously, but it will do.

Just rewicked again. The method pictured on page 41 works great. Mine is not nearly as pretty or even, but I got that great, wet flavor back and it is not dry hitting either. This thing is really easy to wick; granted I have zero point of reference with the exception of my Velocity clone RDA, but if I can wick it that goes to how easy it is. Still amazed at how great this tank is. I've been a temperature control only person. Even though I haven't tried a TC build in the MT, I may not have to and leave my pre-built coils for that until I get more comfortable building.

Then consider that you are only putting 5%-10% into a 30ml mix of vg/pg...it is virtually no nic.

I pulled this out of context, @DP2Raja, because your 5-10% extract amount seems so low. Your extracts must be much more concentrated than mine, which I mix at ~30%. Are you extracting with ethanol or something? How do you get it so concentrated.

For several weeks I seriously considered the MT but decided on the Mutank - primarily because of the pending Velocity-style deck (as well as the option to use prebuilt coils although it was hardly a factor for me personally but a nice option nonetheless). It arrived today. It came clean but I gave it a Vodka bath anyway, then quickly wrapped a 3mm ID 26g tightly-twisted Ti contact coil with 7 wraps in single coil mode. After a few hours of vape time, it has been performing well. It vapes great in TC mode and offers plenty of flavor, vapor, and airflow...very similar to my Cthulhu v2. It is machined nicely and has smooth threading. The black o-rings for the tank are a nice bonus and it also came with clear ones (as well as 3 other misc o-rings and 4 extra screws). The post screws are nice...massive and thick. I plan to try a 2.5mm ID coil soon. So far I'm more than satisfied with it.

I haven't tried the prebuilt factory coils yet but they're massive.

Received my mt rta today. Tried the grub screws which i ordered from ebay. The work really great. Glad that i have 25, so enough if i order another rta or mutank (which i definitely will do).

This thing is a beast, have tried a lot rta's but this beats them all. Great flavour, massive airflow and puts out really big clouds. Put a 3mm 9w coil with 0.50 ss wire in it. Will try clapton soon for sure.
Used rayon and stuffed alot of it in the channels. Not one drop comes from the airflow, even when filling it.

I am a fan now

Yes, it is. Have tried a lot rtas lately (aromamizer, crius, billow), but in terms of performance this is the king.
This is really the first tank, that feels like a dripper to me.

Only thing i would like to have is a velocity-style build deck. Because of this i think i will not buy a second mt rta but wait until the mutank with velocity deck gets available.

I think i have to buy some thin ss wire to build some fused claptons for this beast. That should be awesome. I have some premade claptom wire lying around which i will also try, but i prefer ss over kanthal, so i think i have to make my own

Hey eddiea, On the Mutank, does the single coil adapter also plug the 2nd airflow hole not in use? The pic makes it look like it does. Just curious as it doesn't on the MT and I have to stuff cotton in that 2nd airflow to keep it from seeping condensation.

It's interesting that it doesn't cover the unused airhole on the MT (they probably did that to keep airflow at its maximum), but yes on the Mutank it does and it still offers plenty of airflow. I'd actually like to have both versions for situations where I want maximum dual airhole airflow for a particular build. Here's a top view angle of it:

It prevents the condensation from the chamber slowly coming out. For a single coil tank, this puppie rocks.... I am afraid to go dual as I may never come back. Happy with singles for now I have a 2.66MM ID NiFe52 7 wrap slightly spaced coil going and it is almost too much for me as it is!

Not handy, sorry. If I weren't on the road for the holiday, I could have answered as I keep my caliper within arm's reach. Just looking at the one in my travel kit, I will guess 2mm.
