Heat flux vs heat capacity

.34Ω dual with 24ga A1 hits adequately fast at 80W without getting scorching hot
Right, but unless you're using a mech/unregulated box, you can adjust the wattage up, or down to suite your desired heat.

I guess I just don't know why you want to get to .35ohm with a completely different type of wire. The added mass from the outer wrap will take a bit longer to heat up vs normal 28g, so I still think you'll be good with a 5-6 wrap dual coil even if you crank up the watts a bit.

I'm thinking of picking up this rta. I'm gonna call it an early chri--- birthd--- uhhh... Who am I kidding?! It's a new shiny by Indulgence!!! I've only bought the Mutation X series of RDAs since v.2 and have loved them.

My only concern is the wicking... Are there any special tricks for this? (45^ angle, less cotton, smaller diameter, etc...)
Wicking is the star of the show with this rta, no "special tricks" needed, just stuff n go.

special trick: more wick! No, more than that :)

You haven't ordered it yet? Make sure you get the Sub-Ohm edition! It's only $10 more!

@arh32, what do you say sugar? Help the MT family start salivating!
Sorry Thunder and MMW. The mutank pre built coils almost made me barrffff. It came in the mailbox was used for 30min and went right back to the mailbox for a refund. NEVER had a coil taste that bad. Going to get the new Freemax Scyall for subohm tank. MT, crius, and griffin for rta. Think i am done spending money for a bit now lol. Oh and sorry i did not even look at the book.

No worries, glad you're able to get a refund. I would have never even known the mutank coils were junk because they probably would have just sat in the box. I still plan on getting the mutank, but not for use as a subohm tank.

@MMW Just for you, here's a shot from the MikeVapes video:

I'm so confused. @Mowgli, are you doing dual 24g?
I enjoy that build in my Velocity so I was trying to match the Heat Capacity & Heat Flux with Clapton.

I did a 3/4 build (3.5) that measures .23Ω - oops. I'll try again.
It measures much less than what SE said it would.

I don't think I got enough wick in there. It made a mess when I filled it but it vapes great and FLAVOR.
It pukes juice like it's free when I fill it but doesn't leak again once it's cleaned up.

I'll try a build with more wraps and a ton more wick later.

I have not tried it, but mine came with a dam for the purpose of closing off two of the juice channels. FWIW, the best single coil RTA in my arsenal is a Lemo2. It rocks the house coiled about .5 running 17-23 watts. If you want more air, there's and excellent mod shown up above in this thread, and one to widen the juice channels too, for really thick juices or low builds that need a lot of flow.
I tried finding the mods for more airflow, and juice channels, but failed. Then I realized you may have been talking about the Lemo 2, and not the MT?

@Mowgli, are you closing off the AFC while filling, and flipping the tank over on the last turn of the top cap? After that, open the AFC and after a few seconds flip the tank back.
I am closing the afc but not flipping for the last turn. That's probably the majority of the issue.
