I haven't done a parallel in quite some time, let's be frank, I haven't built anything for a while, regardless suprtrkr, u grabbed my interest, iam gonna do dual parallel 26's since I don't think I have any 24 laying around when I do my next build
I put parallel 28s in my MT for its first build, at @MMW 's suggestion, and they're vaping so well I haven't rebuilt it since I bought it :) I did .32 ohms on it. It's plenty cloudy at 40 watts. At 60 I can't see the screen. And I'm scared to put it on the Snow Wolf and open 'er up, lol.

I don't remember, except I am certain I used a 3.5mm mandrel to get as much wick in it as possible, and 3.5 is the biggest mandrel I have. (I am considering the purchase of a 4mm drill bit just for the MT beastie). Steam Engine tells me I probably did 5/4 shooting for .3 ohms. The SX Mini tells me it measures .32, and I don't remember what my ohmmeter said, but right around there.

It's also a great way to make two evenly spaced coils if you wrap them parallel and then separate them. It seems no one does spaced coils anymore.
I've never tried it, always contact coils with kanthal. I've never used stainless, nichrome or Ti

The easiest way I know of to make spaced coils-- I hate 'em, I only ever did it on NI200-- is to wind the wire sloppy on the mandrel and compress it like a spring, and let it pop back. Probably the neatest I have ever seen were wound on a machine screw.

Sooooooo, no one answered my question earlier about Claptons with a nichrome core and kanthal outer wrap. Seems like it would ramp up better?
Never tried it, or any NiCr wire at all, or at least not for vape gear. I am quite certain it would work, and it seems entirely reasonable it would ramp faster than pure Kanthal. But obviously dissimilar wires can be made to work. You can, in fact, buy NiCr/Kanthal combo wires online. I also think a SS core with a Clapton wrap in Kanthal would be pretty badazz, although I believe I would unwind the wrap a bit and only pin the SS in the posts.

U guys think the ramp up time would be faster on 26 gauge parallels than on 26/32 claptons right?

Given all the other variables are the same
Idk if it would be or not. I never used it on a regulated mod. I did it on a mech and it was .08 ohms so it was a lot of wattage. That sucker heated up instantly and produced huge clouds. That was with 26g kanthal on a 3mm bit

I did that by accident. I am not sure anymore what atty they're in. I didn't really notice any difference in performance against my full kanthal ones. ?

Probably, but given you have a powerful mod, I don't think it will matter in practice.

Shorts bursts of voltage versus a constant supply of voltage
I missed your earlier post, @MMW but the answer is yes. AFAIK, there are no continuous duty 200 watt RMS mods out there, I suppose it would be technically possible to build one with 4 to 6 batteries, but who could lift it? Moreover, it isn't really needed because the wire does not heat and cool instantly. Heat latency in the coil will carry vapor production through the off cycle of the pulses. Better still, batteries are rated higher for (microsecond) pulses than continuous discharge.
