With the screen on and unlocked, three presses on the fire button brings up a mess of icons. The first one looks like a half ast sine wave, that's the one you want. Long press on the fire button to select it, or just wait and it will jump to a menu. In the menu, short press of fire rotates to the next selection, long press selects and moves to the next selection. First selection, temp-memory-watt, select temp. Second, strength, soft-norm-hard, pick 'em. Third selection, wire selection, TCSS-TCTi-TCNi, select TCSS. Fourth selection, the one you want. The top line says TC-SS, with some numbers below it. For 316, use the up/down arrows to set .00092 as this is the TCR for 316SS. Fifth selection is for single or dual coils; assuming dualies select DC. And I never figured out how to lock the arrow buttons either. You're right the documentation method doesn't do anything. Or maybe it only works in wattage mode or something. I have only ever run this thing in TC.
damn @suprtrkr you went above and beyond in writing that tutorial for me! I guess there really are some nice people left in the world!! thank you it is greatly appreciated! I have only run my koopor in wattage mode and the lock doesnt work so i guess we're SOL since we wont be seeing any updates for this thing hahaha just got home, now time to torch this wire and build

cool. i need to run out and get a torch real quick haha also how do i access the settings? i know how to change the modes min-max and change to mem, w, and tc but how do i change the input? and i have also been trying to lock the up/down arrows but the method provided on the koopor site doesnt work

I just use a lighter for wire :)

I only use the torch for mesh.

Never thought of a lighter. I have a butane pencil torch/soldering iron I use. I have a propane torch out in the toolbox, and in fact and oxy-acetelyne rig for cutting steel. But I just take the soldering tip off the little one and use that.

Yeah, I have a little butane torch, and a soldering iron. And propane torches. But, a little Bic lighter takes care of my wire :)

I know @suprtrkr please dont think that post was sarcastic. i really appreciate your help/response.
I dont like using lighters because they leave all of that black soot. I use Vector 14 to refill my torches to try to be as clean as possible in the process of lighting something

Well, my butane torch leaves black soot, too, if you don't go pretty quickly :). You have to experiment a little to find the right speed for different wire. And you can wipe it off afterward if you need to.

I keep meaning to buy an ultrasonic cleaner to try force steeping. This would also serve to clean tanks and coils.
I use mine to clean my tanks, seems to work pretty good.I've seen people mention speed steeping in them, but never tried it.I just use a magnetic stir plate, then put in the bottle and go.

tell me about the magnetic stirrer, @b.m. There's enough torque to stir liquids that viscous? I have been considering fabricating an overhead shaft model out of a sewing machine motor. What model plate do you have, and how much will it stir?

I'm not sure on the model,it's one made for home beer making.I got mine on ebay for $40,but they can be made alot cheaper than that.I mix at 70 vg,and at first it mixes a bit slow because of the thickness, but after a few minutes it will start to speed up.One trick when using vg heavy mixes though,is to sit the beaker in a bowl of hot water for around 5 minutes first, and it will spin it alot faster. On my small batches, like 30ml or so,i just make it,and pop it on the mixer. When i do my 120ml batches,i'll heat it up a bit first, and it mixes good that way.If you can get one made from that sewing machine motor, you should be able to mix even a 90 vg mix very well,as that would be quite a bit more powerful than mine, which is essentially a computer fan with magnets glued on it,and a pot switch for adjusting speed.

There's an idea! I want more torgue than that, it's not uncommon for me to mix batches in the 500-1000 mL range. But that's brilliant for small batches. The one I want to build uses a sewing machine motor because they're cheap, have a 1/4" shaft, and come with a foot pedal. You could make a stirring paddle out of a short length of 316 1/4" shaft and a small piece of 316 flashing. Thread the end of the shaft, add a couple nuts and washers. Cut the flashing round, center bore it, slit it radially and twist the ends of the "feathers" with a needlenose. You could make stir plates in different diameters for different beakers, using the same shaft and motor. And those foot pedals have a machine screw under the pedal, which can be adjusted up or down to limit pedal travel and thus motor top speed. If you cut a slot in the pedal, replaced the screw with one long enough to go through the pedal, add a wing nut and you've got speed control for free. Just add a 1/4" shaft coupler to connect the motor to the paddle and you're done, aside from building a rack of some sort to hold the motor and a clamp for the beaker :)

...sit the beaker in a bowl of hot water for around 5 minutes first

On that subject, you can buy a food grade stainless immersable 350W cartridge heater for 7 bucks, and a thermally controlled switch, with a .5deg F gate, for 20. Since I'm gonna build a rack for the motor, no reason I couldn't add an attachment for the heater and sensor bulb as well. I think you'll get better force steeping if you heat the juice in the 120deg F range and let it stir for an hour.

Just some random thoughts...

I bought a UC at Harbor Freight for like $80. (got the biggest one go big or go home) and have been using it to steep my juice for about a month now! Jury's still out on how well it works because I'm still messing with my recepies! Mine has a heater that goes to about 140-150 deg. and after it gets warm you turn off the heater and it holds temp from the ultrasonic I think! This may be like DUH to most of you but don't UC steep in plastic bottles! You get a plastic taste at first but it goes away! But still if it's transferring flavor what else is it doing? So I bought 6 amber glass 120ml bottles from Amazon & its much better! Spent $108 at RTS last night on PG VG & flavors last night! Didn't buy any 10ml flavors this time just 30's & 120's! Oh yah, my UC only runs in 8min. cycles & you have to let it rest for a few after about 3 cycles!

Anybody wicking their Mutank with Rayon? Looking for suggestions the juice channels are huge on the Mutank and Rayon tails are supposed to be thin, so I am a little confused how much tail to put into the channel, I normally trim about 60 percent of the tail of Rayon for my other tanks but wondering if I should leave thicker tails for the Mutank just because the juice channel is so wide and so deep.

Thanks! Pictures are always helpful too but just looking for some guidance first time building the Mutank... Have the velocity style deck for it as well so really excited feel like this Mutank could be at least as good as the Aromamizer which I love using already :)
