Just another instance of patent abuse. Apple won billions from Google in the cellphone wars because Google dared to use the "rectangle with rounded corners" form factor. We really need a patent law re-do. Patent trolling has become an actual career.

I agree. I did a search and came up with this:
The chip on the left is RX200, the one on the right is the DNA200. They look like totally different IC boards with a generally similar form factor. The dna has a bigger screen, looks like a lot less IC's. So, if they plan on suing for copying them, then they're wrong. My case....

If it weren't for Ford, then the industry probably would've stagnated for quite a few years, and many companies wouldn't exist.
I think the RX chip does offer a variable wattage/temperature device in the same range. However, looking at the two different chips side by side, they do it in a totally different way. just like my analogy with the cars, same general idea, different approach. I sure hope Evolv doesn't win this one... It'll be another banned item like the Ameravape.

It's unbelievable....vaping get's hit hard from outside forces, and now the vaping industry is also going to fight amongst themselves, probably causing stagnation in new developments....sigh

Thank you. I agree. You can't patent watts, any more than you can patent sunshine. We shall see. I suspect Evolv is put out over Joye/Wismec selling so many of them. No idea how many of the DNA board models are moving, but the RXs are flying off the shelves. Win, lose or draw, I think Evolv is going to lose a lot of their audience. Thanks for the photo. I can't see the board itself being found an infringement. That's a completely different design and a different circuit, it's just laid out on a board that happens to fit in the same case.

Great post too Aud. The last statement is what I was fearing. What's to stop them from going after everyone else if they get past Wismec/JT.

You guys act like civil suits are solved in a day! These are two very big companies with lots of money & could get tied up for years!
And what's it gonna matter if deeming takes affect? Although I ABSOLUTELY LOVE my RX200 it would be a big mistake for me to think there to think there is not probably something equal or hopefully better in the works somewhere! Wismec is probably counting on this creating a rush on the RX so even if they loose they win! it's too early for me to panic! Not saying that's what's going on here in this awesome thread, but it absolutely will elsewhere!

I agree, Bill, but so far everytime one of these suits has come up, the manufacturer initiating the suit has sent out cease and desist letters and the items have been pulled from sales.
I'm more concerned with the long term and implosion of two mod makers.
I will check VaporDNA, but the red and black has been preorder everywhere. No insurance we will actually get one.

You're right it wont be over in a day but the cease and desist will shut the sale of the mods down if granted before the suit is final.
