Want a look at regulations that do not fall under ANY states rules? Look up the FMCSA. Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration...
I am required to take a physical & urine test every 2 years, unless my BP, blood sugar, corrected vision or hearing go into their warning zones. then it can mean a new physical every 6 months!
Add into this, that if I get in an accident (in the commercial vehicle OR in my own personal vehicle) I am at fault. Immediately. Required to give blood or urine on demand with no way to refuse AND may even face jail time while I prove *my* innocence. No joke here. Look it up. I am the professional & should be able to avoid any accident (CDL = clairvoyant)
And even with valid prescriptions & medical letters cannot have any meds on my truck that my company (you read that right, my company NOT my doctor) says can cause impairment. Simply stated? If it is stronger than Tylenol or Advil it better not be on their trucks.
Talk about nanny state AND practicing medicine w/o a license...
I will hush now. Got a load to deliver & can't be late. Be safe all!
Sarah.
