So I been here of lately using a vision spinner, with either my modified EVOD2 tank running a 1.8ohm single coil, or my modified Aspire ET-S tank using a 1.6ohm dual coil. The performance with the EVOD2 tank is great but it lacks the fluid capacity that I like from my Aspire tank. The Aspire tank on the other hand is decent but the performance is lacking, the spinner can't properly heat up the coils to perform well. The Aspire coils (dual coils) comes in either 1.6ohms, 1.8ohms, or 2.1ohms, which would give me about the same performance as a 1.8ohm single coil setup?

Also I have been looking at mod boxes. What would be an inexpensive setup for a person coming from a pen style vape?

If you read some of the threads here that are similar to this one, you'll see a lot of recommendations for the iStick 30w with a Nautilus mini. The reason for that is that it's inexpensive, versatile and has enough power for a beginner/intermediate vaper.

Another family of tanks that work well would be the Eleaf GS Air tanks. About half the price of the Nautilus but still very good.

iStick 30 w and Aspire Nautilus Mini, both user friendly and great track records.

My journey... Nautilus on Spinner 2 (worked ok) and on iStick 50w (right) where it really shined.

Kanger KBOX 40W Sub-Ohm Variable Wattage Box Mod - 2vaped
Here's a link to the K box as a kit. It is a one stop shop kinda deal. Choose a tank, batteries, etc. It's not the cheapest, but it wil give you an idea of what you can get.

or this:
Kanger Subox Mini Sub-Ohm Full Kit by Kangertech - Black and White

or:
Eleaf iSmoka iStick 30W Box Mod Kit

You can shop on this site Vapecrawler Just type what you want in the search bar and filter. If you want to know if a site is reputable, look for it under forum suppliers at the top of any page on ECF page.

I'm weaning myself off iSticks onto replaceable battery mods.

So far, I have bought the 30w versions (minis) from Sigelei and Cloupor.

The Cloupor is smaller, by quite a bit. Both are heavier than iSticks. Other than that, both are very nice. The Sigelei is running a bit 'hot' for me - very few of these cheap mods are very accurate... I adjust up and down to suit my own sweet spot.

Either way... I'm not going over 20w with either. That's my RDA range.

I had a chance to get a few things for a rather decent price from a guy at work. 2 batteries, a charger, Kecig k100+ that has a 0.2 ohm coil in it and another vape. The other vape I'm not to sure what it is, it's a pen style with an Aspire Nautalus tank. The vape itself is VV (3v - 6v) and VW (up to 15w)

Pic of the Kecig, I'll see if I can grab one of the other one tomorrow. The guy is letting me split it between my paychecks so can't complain too much.

If you are going to be using a 0.2Ω coil in a mechanical you need a 30A CDR battery (like the Sony VTC4).

I'll quote @Mooch (one of our battery experts).

"NOT Efest
NOT MXJO
NOT AWT
NOT Imren
NOT Vappower
NOT Basen
NOT Cloud Chaser

NOT any battery from a company that just buys a Sony, Samsung, or LG battery and puts their own wrap on it."

When considering how low you can build you need to give yourself some headroom. I try to never exceed 50% of the CDR (continuous discharge rating) of a fully charged battery (4.2v). So with a 30A battery, that would be 15A. This Ohm's Law Calculator tells me that a .28 ohm build is as low as I would want to use.

The reason that I place a 50% limit is because as a battery ages the mAh of the battery degrades, as the mAh degrades so does the batteries c rating (amp limit). So down the road, a 30A battery may only be a 15A battery.

If you are new to mech mods and/or rebuildables I highly recommend you spend some time with @Baditude & @Mooch (two of our resident battery/safety experts) and visit their blogs. You are now 100% in control of your own safety (and others around you). Make sure you purchase an ohm reader and a voltmeter or DMM so you can measure your builds, check for shorts and measure the remaining charge on your batteries.

Here are links to some of Mooch's blogs:
* No matter what is printed on the battery wrapper: There are no 18650 batteries with a genuine rating over 30A!
* Links to all his battery tests to date: List of My Battery Tests | Mooch's Blog
* Picking a Safe Battery to Vape With: Table of 18650 Battery Safety Grades | Mooch's Blog

Baditude's Blog - Table of Contents: The blogs that address battery safety, Ohm's Law, CDR (continuous discharge rating/Amps) and how they all work together are detailed below:

BATTERIES

Battery Basics for Mods: IMR or Protected ICR?
* Another essential read to understand which batteries are safe to use in mechanical and regulated mods. Includes a frequently updated list of recommended safe-chemistry, high-drain batteries with their specifications.

Purple Efest Batteries not as Advertised
* A cautionary blog that reveals that the purple Efest batteries may not have the specifications advertised. Also includes a commentary on "continuous discharge ratings" vs "pulse discharge ratings" of battery specs.

OHM'S LAW

Ohm's Law for Dummies (Vapers)
* My attempt at explaining Ohm's Law in layman terms and how it relates to vaping.

Explain it to the Dumb Noob: Ohm's Law Calculations
* As simple as it is to use, some people have a tough time grasping the concept. Warning: Includes graphic photos of mod explosions.

BATTERIES - WHERE TO BUY

Only buy batteries from a reputable supplier (not ebay or Amazon) as there are many counterfeit batteries being sold. Here are several reputable battery suppliers in the US.

* RTD Vapor
* Illumination Supply
* Lighthound
* Orbtronics

I hope that's just a typo and you meant "2.0 ohm coil"
