I notice I inhale an ecig like a cigar, where I don't feel it go deep, and then stop pulling on my ecig and inhale it the rest of the way into my lungs. Sucking it all the way in seems to hurt. Could this be because I got too much PG in my vapor (80/20) or do most people inhale like this?

Wasn't sure if this should be in gen eliquid discussion but not really sure it's liquid related. I can't even remember how I smoked an analog. I never really thought about it. I just did what came naturally.

I vape 100% VG at the moment but am getting some 70%/30% PG/VG blend in the mail soon. So until I can compare, the VG doesn't have that effect on me. I use the same technique as you to inhale and my lungs feel fine. Are you recovering from an illness? You might also just be sensitive you PG, it seems that some folks are bothered by the ingredient and experience some discomfort in their throats and lungs when inhaling. Do you have any pure VG liquid you could try out and see if it has the same effect?

I'm pretty new at this, but I think what you're experiencing is "throat hit". High PG juices definately hit harder. I've been experementing myself. My first order was for 80/20, and it hit pretty hard and didn't have the vapor production of my original Blu (all vg). I then got some 70/30 and 60/40, and there should be some 50/50 in the mail today.

Decreasing the PG content in favor of VG decreases the throat hit and increases the vapor. I'm not crazy about huge throat hit, and the all VG was too smooth, so I figure I'll experiment until I get a blend that's comforable for me.

ETA: I don't generally inhale cigars, but when I vape I do draw the vapor into my mouth, then inhale, and exhale thru my nose. So far, I find this technique most satisfying.

I guess I keep the throat hit from PG happening as much by doing it this way. What I want most is a strong taste and I hear PG has a stronger taste. I've only tried 100% VG once and I'll try my batch again and see if I can inhale deep. Not sure it matters much, but inhaling the cigar way and then sucking up after does keep me from taking a big inhale. I may have smoked analogs this way too, I feel stupid not being able to remember
