By drawing it into your mouth first and holding for a second or so you will absorb more of the nicotine, then if you draw directly to the lungs, its known that you absorb the most from your mouth, throat, and nose. Mucus membranes. The vapor molecules are bigger than in smoke molecules and the lungs have a harder time taking them in and get them to the blood stream and to the brain. Exhaling out of the nose will also help you realize flavor better.

Since posting my last comment to this thread, my vaping gear has arrived and I found that my method while smoking (direct inhale to the lungs) needed to be retired. It's definitely beneficial to let the vapor visit with the tastebuds in your mouth for a bit before inhaling. I'm vaping 0 nic liquid, so that's not an issue, but the liquid's flavor certainly gets a chance to come through much stronger. Very tasty!

This is fascinating...I smoked for over 20 years, cigs and other, NEVER knew some people don't hold it in their mouth first! Wow. So now I know why some of my friends choke and cough when they take a puff on my PV.

I was taught how to smoke when I was 15. My friend and I were smoking and having coffee after school in McDonald's, and some old guy came over and told us we were wasting our cigs cause we weren't inhaling. He showed us how to do it. We thought he was a weird old perv, lol, but the method stuck.

I was a mouth to lungs smoker and am now a mouth to throat vapor (cigar style). I don't inhale deeply like I did with a cig. It's funny I just had this same convo with my dad a few hours ago and we both tried a bunch of direct lung hits. Kinda burns the throat. I'm not a fan. It was funny with 2 of us sitting in the car doing it though.

In a van ............down by the river
Kinda burns the throat.

Are you using a top coil clearo?

I tend to take pretty long draws and the TC clearos get pretty warm, even hot.

I got a bottom coil T3, and I definitely noticed the difference. Very cool, both figuratively and literally.
Plus, no twisting required.

As far as the OP's topic, I do both.
I vary my vaping to suit the delivery device and what I'm after, taste or nic.

But these T3's make it so easy to capture a giant lungful.

most people take a slower lighter draw. sucking in too hard will actually reduce the amount of vapor.
THANKS! I tried that now, and after just some drags i felt the nicotine HUGE! I was satisfied before when i took hard draws and straight into the lungs, but this was so much better! The taste, the nicotine, simply everything! I have to take slow drags, and i thought that would harm the clearomizer, but if it doesn't this was so much better! I can feel the taste so much better, thank you!
Best regards// Fredrik

I smoked cigs that way, yeah, but I don't vape that way. I do a very light draw while firing my PV, just filling my mouth with vapor, then inhale. I just tried vaping your way, and it produces more vapor (have to draw harder), but I get less flavor.

Hmmm, I just drew into my lungs and got more vapor. But it wasn't a pleasant inhale.
I'd rather fill my mouth and then inhale, like a normal person.

I got a cold some months after starting to vape and the old volume of smokers mucus came back but clear to opaque instead of yellow and just in the bronchial (not down in the lungs.) I hated it because it reminded me of what I lived with so many years. I also got paranoid. I knew I had a cold but geez so much mucus? So to prevent so much vapor going to my lungs/bronchial, I learned to inhale differently. I had always smoked "milk shake" style and inhaled shallowly.. probably just to the bronchial but tried to find a way not to get so much in there. Now I inhale at the roof of my mouth and down the wind pipe instead of at the bottom and down and it seems to lessen the amount of vapor hitting the bronchial. Even with a cold and still not over the remaining bronchial issues, I've noticed a decrease in mucus. I'm going to give it time to see if its bronchial irritation from the cold or vaping but this is a better way for me to inhale.
