Thanks for the info and your concern, @AndriaD ! I will have to look into this... and I gave my istick 30w to my wife (She's off the analogs!!) so I am going to have to wait a few months to get a couple of "rotation" devices (unless I win one in one of the contests)

I did the night charging at first, myself. Then I started looking into battery safety; the thing is, bad things don't happen too often with batteries, but they can and do happen, and when they do, it can be *so* bad that it's just not worth the risk -- maybe 99 times out of 100, nothing bad happens... but the 100th time burns down your house -- just not a desirable outcome at all.

Someone around here, in some battery safety thread, pointed out that the size of these vaping batteries lends itself to the idea that they're not much different from the regular disposable alkaline batteries -- when in fact, the power in these little batteries is somewhat closer to a car battery, than a Duracell.

Andria, my "crappy" VAMO is still working 2 years later! :D

Guess I should have got a Provari.

I know, right? I found my gun-metal Vamo for $17 from some Chinese vendor, so I thought, well if it craps out in just a couple months, I'll have gotten my money's worth out of it. That was last August, and it's still working just fine. :D And it's had more than its share of ejuice inside; actually the "Mode 2", somewhat akin to "RMS" I think, doesn't work very well in my Vamo, but it never really has; I just leave it in Mode 1 ("average" which I guess is their version of "Mean") and set the wattage a bit lower, 8 or 8.5 instead of 10w.

Think I'll pass on the Provari. :D I just ordered that Evic last night, which is 60w and does TC, for $49.99.

What size, current capacity, wall wart are you using? I use a 1.5 amp, 1500mah, wall wart and my CF charges from "cut off" to full in three or four hours. I hope you're not charging off a PC USB port! A wall wart costs under ten bucks, a PC costs a heck of a lot more! Plus, current capacity is fairly limited on a PC port.
I had to ask because I won't go to sleep while it's charging. I am using a wall charger plugged into a surge protector. Def not my pr lol. Then it really would take forever to charge. I turned it off to charge and the yellow light never went off but when I checked the batt it said full. So fig is ask to make sure I'm not over charging.

The light on my CF4 turns out at 4.17v, what is your voltage after charging?

Andria, I've heard the "Vamo is junk" stuff too. Funny, the two V2's I have are still working sine, after two years of, pretty much, heavy daily use. They are getting a rest, now, with the CF, iSticks, IPV2, and Invader, but they still do a nice job when coiled and wicked properly.

Yeah, mine's a V2 also -- love that completely flat top! For a while it got very heavy usage, my ADV for several months. Now I have it for my Smocha, for just-woke-up and also right after meals -- so maybe 20% of my daily vaping. Still works just great!

That gun-metal finish is a bit fragile, I admit; the extension tube got a huge scratch on it, and it had a "rubbed" spot where my wedding ring would hit it. Now I use the brass-toned Chi You kick ring instead of the extension tube, so I can use 18500 batteries and it's not so blasted tall, and now my ring hits on the kick ring, so the finish should be good for a while yet. :thumb:

Mine are both stainless and really don't show much wear at all. One has a nick in the battery cap from being dropped on concrete, but other than that nothing. That's why I stick to stainless/aluminum finishes...wears really well and can be easily buffed out.

Here's mine... you can see it's still looking pretty good, 11 months down the road... :)

You know, I was just thinking about all the mods I've have. The only ones that have crapped out are Innokin, two original VV/VW's with the magnetic heads, 2-VTRs and an original Cool Fire. In fact the Cool Fire crapped twice, once about three weeks after I got it, so it went back to Innokin for repair, then failed exactly the same way about three months later. None of my others have failed. Now I'm not knocking Innokin here, I like their products. It just seems to be the "luck of the draw" with stuff like this and is totally unpredictable.

I used my old VAMO v.2 so much that the gunmetal finish completely wore off where my hand went around it. But the stainless one I got for backup still looks fine. It really is amazing what mods seem to hold up well when you hear so much about poor quality. I've never had a mod go south, not even the first ego and 510's I started out with. And I've had my share of clumsy moments.

I use a cell phone charger wall wart. I'm not sure about the electrical stuff. I've been using it for both my istick 30 and my MVP 20.

Just look on the wall wart and it should be marked with the rated output. You may need a magnifying glass to see it though. Another problem is over-rated wall warts. By that I mean they are rated higher than their actual output under full load. For the cost of them, it's easy to buy one with real capabilities.

I bought a "knock off" Ego from a HK shop... the control part, at the top, popped right out of the battery casing. But it was $10, so I guess I got what I paid for. :D

I've also got a really pretty red ARO Winder, the 900mAh version where the button is right on the battery, not in one of those ring/collar things... and it still works, but I'm so terrified of Ego chargers, I won't use it anymore. If I knew where I could get a GOOD Ego charger, I'd probably still use it, it's so pretty.

In the case of the Vamo, there are several companies making them, and not all are equal. My V5 is about 2 years old now, still works fine. Then again, I have numerous regulated mods, used in "rotation" (depends on which one has the flavor of the moment loaded!), so I can't say it's had steady, hard use for 2 years... and put a thread adapter on it when I first got it, as the soft threaded models were rampant at that time, and I wasn't quite sure! So no problems there.

One last VAMO +1, I used my v3 with stacked 18350's for almost 1.5 years pushing it to it's 5 amp limit (1.2ohm @ 5v) most of the time. I have dropped it on all types of surfaces and it's still going strong. The fire button is mushy and doesn't fire occasionally but always does the second time.

To my knowledge it was the first 20+ watt regulated device (only in VV mode with stacked 350s and a certain ohm range).

My box says something like "Healthy Life Kings Enjoyment".

I put spring loaded cone adapters on both of my Vamos. Makes them a little taller, but no problem with threads or center pins and they are both from when the V2 first came out. I did stack in them, too, but gave that up because it was a PITA tracking and swapping positions of the batteries, then the Efest batteries started going out of "sync" too much. I still run in voltage mode, though, to maximize output.
