More likely to pop at lower powers, but your saying it tastes burnt, I vape mine at 24 watts no problem, did you prime the coil and wait at least 5 minutes before using it?

And is there sufficient airflow, and how thick is the juice... sounds like it's not wicking well.

It is a slight burnt taste. not like a dry hit. I did prime the coil and left it sit for a few hours before taking any puffs. It is popping alot.

I do have it all the way closed up to make the draw tighter. My juice is 50/50.

I run mine at 13w right now with air wide open. Sounds like not enough airflow. I'm using 80VG 20PG caramel apple from Mt Baker Vapor and the "pops" (rare) are minimal at most. I started around 22w, I'm not sure why but both my iSubs seem to do better at lower Watts. I run my Aspire Nautilus at 11.5w for an example.

Sub ohm vaping is a different experience. I started out mouth hitting and then went full lung. Mouth hitting just won't feel right, at least it didn't for me. 50/50 may be too much PG for sub ohm vaping, at least that's what I found when I tried it. The throat hit was too "rough" so I went to 70VG/30PG and that was still a little high but much more tolerable. 80/20 is perfect for me and mine wicks well. I've been using the same coil for 7 weeks now, and it's still reading .46 ohm on both my MVP 60W mods. I hope this helps!

P.S.- I wonder if vaping at lower watts may have something to do with the coils longevity? Both my iSub G and iSub are on original coils. I almost forgot, going back to a "mouth hitter" like the Nautilus isn't easy the first time I tried it. It's like training yourself off cigs and onto vaping again, at least it was for me. Also, I'll hear "pops" if I hold the button down and not take a hit. No airflow and it "pops" does make it seem like an airflow problem?

Wow, 7 weeks...!!
How many tanks a day?

I always wanted to try the Isub, But not sure if it would suit my Low W, Mouth to lung type of vaping. Probably not.

Would have been cool if Innokin had made some 1-1.2 ohm coils for it.

I use 100% VG unflavored, 24mg Nic.

Edit: I run my MVP20w's at 8-8.5W with a Nautilus @ 1.6 ohms and Iclear 30B's @ 1.5 ohms.

Actually, they do make 2 ohm coils for the iSub. I just ordered some from Vapor Beast to see if I could make this tank work for MTL.

well now,
so you’re still Waiting for these coils ?

I have been keeping an ‘eye’ out for ANYTHING
Innokin might offer but NOTHING other than .5Ω (till now)
I don't see any other vendor stocking these yet

VB write-up still sez:
BEASTLY BECAUSE: Innokin iSub Replacement Coils are made with the purest of Japanese Organic Cotton and

are available at a 0.5 ohm resistance for all you large cloud producers! These coils are BEAST!

kinda odd choices {.2Ω & 2.0Ω} to offer after all this time

I believe Innokin has tied their shoe-strings together
by not offering – Ni, Ti, rebuildable, >Ω coils for their ONLY Sub tank

let us know… :)

Pretty sure Innokin will not offer any TC coils/Tanks until they have their own TC capable mod.

Eric

yepper, feel the same way

just feel they are losing market share
waiting / not offering more than a .5Ω coil...

a 1.0Ω, 1.2Ω, or 1.5
or heaven forbid, a rebuildable…

thinking the damage is already done
they’re gonna have to WOW peeps
with a new TECH (their temp control)

whatever it may be…

They seem to be happy with producing solid entry and mid level devices and they probably sell a ton of them.

They seem to have VERY little interest in the TC market.

All of their major competitors are now entering TC (Or have for a while) And it does not seem to bother them one bit.

Anyone looking for affordable TC does not have to wait for Innokin anymore, it's all over the place.

I run lower than what is recommended on the watts (20w-35w is stated on the coil) and every 2 weeks the coil gets pulled and 151 proof vodka soaked for a few hours to clean them. I then let it all dry for a day. After that I put it all back together and pull the other iSub coil and repeat, so I always have a iSub available for vaping.

I even ordered a back up iSub G for just in case, but it's never been used. The iSub coil swap design is great, it's just too easy. If it had top fill it'd be perfect but I guess I can't have it all. I was a mouth hitter also. After I tried lung hits with the iSub (and lowered the PG to 20) it's now like breathing it's so easy. The taste is much better too, it seems like you just won't know if sub ohm vaping is for you until you try it.

I go through about 4ml a day at 4 to 6 seconds hits on my iSubs. My Nautilus now gets very rare use with 1.8 coils at 11.5w. Sometimes I just have a hankering for the tobacco flavor and that's what I use the Nautilus for. I have 10 coils for my iSubs and 4 for my Nautilus, I finally tossed one away today because the Nautilus coil was reading 1.99 ohms. I don't remember how old the Nautilus coil is, I wasn't keeping track like I've been with my Innokin products. At this rate my iSub coils will last me quite some time.
