I must admit that the Radius has me tempted. I have 2 Cool Fire IV's, a Disrupter, and several ISticks, so I don't really need or want to spend $199.00 right now on one mod! Love my Cool Fire IV's! I could get 5 more Cool Fire IV's for the price of one Radius!

IMO, the reputation of reliability, dependability, the one year guarantee, the availability of actual repair, and that it's made in the USA are driving factors for some.

Personally, I'm in the camp of many mods/toppers/flavors ready at all times. And can't quite justify having 10 $200 mods...

I just love my 134 mini (even though the button doesn't work for long before I have to let it rest, and since I've dropped it a couple times the VW part isn't quite whole..), but if I ever have 250 bucks just laying around {doubtful}, a P3 will be my next mod (sorry Innokin).

High end purchasers will always buy the latest greatest. Most Radius buyers probably won't go over 20 watts.

I agree. 40w but no temp control removable 18650. It would be great for those that don't need high wattage but OH THE PRICE!

With that price you get a real 1 year warranty and a device that will be in service for years.

I think it's worth the money and I'm a very frugal when it comes to spending.

It may even gain TC in the future with an update, which are now performed by the end user instead of sending it in.

I agree that Provari quality is top notch. Quality does not prevent loss, destruction (non warranty), or theft. So there is a risk factor as well. I would rather replace a $30 mod than a $200 one.

That's why you take the CF4 out and about and leave the Radius home :)

Quality does help prevent destruction, the tube Provari are about indestructible. Time will tell if the Radius is.

    Sitting down, facing forward.
I don't think that TC will be a thing that can be upgraded by firmware alone, unless they're using a fairly sophisticated chip for control already. It takes a little more than a basic style regulator module to do TC. Sensing wire resistance makes it a lot more complex, electronically.

Well the control software is over 80K lines of code, I think the hardware is likely sophisticated enough.

I followed that Radius thread for most of its life. Vape360 said that Provape will not do TC until it is perfected and shown to work reliably.

Agreed, that doesn't mean the Radius won't be the device to do it though.

I certainly am not saying it will ever have TC, I said it's possible. I don't recommend anyone purchasing it with an expectation of TC in the future. Expect a very well made 40W device.

This one sure won't! If I ever top out at THIRTEEN watts, ECF will have a banner at the top of every thread.

I'm still in a holding pattern over the Radi. Part of it is just being so mod'd out. Not enuf appetite, yet...

My draw to it is I have never had a new Provari (only a PIF'd that I Re-PIF'd), it's box style but rounded so comfortable to hold, and finally it's small and light. The vape quality is of utmost importance but we all know it will be smooth as a mechanical.

For what it cost the wifey and I to smoke, we could buy 2 Radii a month and still save money. But I doubt that I will be buying one any time soon. Just spent $255 on a test for a sick dog that didn't tell us what is wrong with him. And so on...

Sorry to hear about your dog, what are the symptoms?

You know how easily those iStick up-down btns activate, right? Like, just from being in your purse? A couple months ago, I went to take a hit... couldn't figure out what all the racket was about... caught a glimpse of the screen... SEVENTEEN WATTS?!?!?!?!? HOLY COW! Fortunately the wick was nice and wet so I didn't get a dry hit, but... HOLY COW! There's a reason I'm a low-watt tight-draw tootle puffer! :D

One of the reasons I prefer mods that allow you to lock the settings and still vape. Just can't change settings without unlocking.

Yeah that's another reason I prefer the CF4s now...you have to hold the button down till it flashes, before you can change it. MUCH better plan!
