Hello all. SmokingGunzs here. You may remember me from the "coughing" thread the other day. :D

To recap, I love my VaporKing 0mg carts, but the 8mg and 11mgs that I've tried make me cough, bad. I can barely get any vapor past my mouth before I cough it right back out.

Someone suggested that I try GreenCig, as it has a milder throat hit. So I'm eyeballing the V4L sale on the GreenCig starter kit.

The problem is that I am not fully satisfied with my research on the forums about GreenCig... there is one member who is a huge fan, but other than him I am having a hard time finding other reviews. I did read some mediocre to bad reviews on the carts, but I wonder how much of that is people who don't think they are strong enough.

So, who here has tried the GreenCig batteries? How about carts?

If the batteries have a milder throat hit, can I use the KV (KR808d-1) carts with the GreenCig batteries (I know that the reverse is doable).

Any input is appreciated! I bought another pack of analogs today because I am jonesing for nicotine. I want to get off these things ASAP.

Thanks!

I have used the GS carts w/ the KR battery and @ 5v,6.4v 7.2v ect... The batt doesn't really matter, you see the atomizers are all the same, nicrome wire coiled around a wick. 510, 801 and yes KR and GS cartomizers. I find the GS comparatively weak in throat hit no matter what juice I use.
So... GS cartos might just be the ticket for ya.
Also you might need to file or drill the GS carto to get your prefered drag on the KR batt.

For the Greencig cartos to work, the battery MUST have slots on the center post. None of my VK batteries have slots.

If you don't know what I'm talking about, look at the battery connector on one of your VK carts. Those little grooves on both sides of the center hole are the slots. The GC cartos don't have slots, so the battery must. Otherwise, it will screw on fine but you can't get a draw on it.

The "staple mod" would probably make it workable.

I want to get a green cig myself but i dont know anything about them much. i have been asking around and folks here have helped me but i still cant decide on green cig or go with KR808. I heard so much good things about green cig saying they are the best out there. Now i seen from the posts here that green cig doesnt give a good throat hit. Is this true? i myself want a good throat hit. smoked Marlboro reds for over 40 yrs. I know the KR808 D is good and people say its good throat hit but i myself do not want anything that long. its just me as i want it to look close in size to an analog. Maybe one day i will get away from that but anyway thats why i am looking at Green cig cause its almost the same size as a real smoke. So now that i heard green cig doesnt give a good throat hit i am back to looking around again. i do want a 2 piece e cig. right now i have the M402 and love it but i use the carts and i dip. I want a 2 piece with disposable atty for when i am out and away from the house. Can you guys help me with a decision.
Smoking Guns i wish you luck in your decision as well. drives me crazy so much info. I know if i buy the green cig and i dont get agood throat hit i will be sorry. so anyone please help. Thanks for letting me post.

Another limitation I have seen is even when suppliers have them in stock, they only seem to stock one strength - 16mg. I am not convinced that is all GreenCig has to offer, I just have not personally seen them. For me 16mg, just does not cut it most of the time. The vapor is plentiful, but the cartomizers I have tasted to date are not nearly as flavorful as VK cartomizers. I understand there was a bad batch floating around, but since that is all I have used, I can't say for sure if there is a major difference with a "good" batch. Just things to consider.

One more thing, if you plan to refill them, doing so from the mouthpiece end is a major pain. You have to pry off the top cap (which is actually sealed, so it is harder and you have to scrape out the sealing medium when you finally do get it off). Then you have to pull out the cart (it is similar to an 801 cart where the plastic faces away from you or you have to drill a small hole for a syringe in the top).

Thank you for the reply about GC throat hit. i think i know what you mean harsh throat hit. like right now i am using marlboro juice in my 402 and i get a smooth throat hit. so maybe what i should do is what some others are doing. use a KR808 d battery and a green cig cart. whats your thoughts on this. I wish your wife vbest of luck getting off the analogs. i have smoked marlboro reds since 1965 about 1 1/2 packs a day and now im down to 5 smokes a day. my wife is pretty happy about it. so i wish you guys teh best. Thanks again for answering my question.

Just make sure that the KR808 battery has the groove on it - most of the new ones do not.

I was curious about the greencig also and bought the kit when V4L had them on sale. I do not care for the cartos because I need a bit of a throat hit. But they do give out a lot of vapor. The batteries are shorter then the standard VK batteries, so I imagine that they will be similar to the new shorties that Steve will be carrying soon. The batteries work with VK cartos and the charger works for the VK batteries as well. So all in all, even if you didn't care for the greencig - you could use the charger and the shorty batteries with VK cartos, so it wouldn't be a total loss. And if you don't want a throat hit, you will probably like the GC cartos.

Just my .02 cents! ;)

hey JenJen
thanks for the post. It had lots of great info on the greencigs that i wanted. Who is Steve and what do you mean he is going to carry Short batterys? that will be great. and if i buy a KR808 battery how do i know if its gonna have a groove on it? So i would have to get an old one? So you say the Greencig batteries work with the VK carts? But it has to be an old battery with groove on it? well that would be great. I do want a decent throat hit. I thought from reading the threads unless i read them wrong that GC carts work with VK batteries but the GC batteries dont work with the VK carts. man i am getting confused lol. but you have to know cause you have the greencig. If i didnt want a shorter battery and i do cause i want it to look as close to a real smoke as possible, I would just get the VK. Anyway JenJen thanks a million for your help and to everyone else that posted. All you folks have so much knowledge about these e cigs. Happy vaping to all.

Steve is the owner of Vapor4Life. He will be getting in batteries that are shorter than the ones he carries now, it will be about the size of a normal king size analog with the carto attached. According to one I just got, and someone else on this forum, it seems that the new No Logo batteries in black and white are grooved. All of the other batts I got from Steve, auto or manual, are not grooved. I have no idea if Steve is going to grooved batteries in the future, or if that is just what he got from the factory this time.
If length is your main concern, I would suggest going with the VK and some new shorties when Steve gets them in stock. I love the Vapor King, and I have no problem getting a very nice throat hit out of one.

We have not received any of my new battery's in yet, but, I have instructed them to make larger side holes, which should do a few things, heat up the cartomizer for better vapor, as well as make the battery last much longer, due to minimizing heat level inside battery itself. These new ones should work on all the cartomizers as well. Time will tell.:p

The KR808 cartos work fine on the greencig batteries. My point was that if you bought the kit and didn't like the greencig cartos, it wouldn't be a total waste because you could use the batteries and charger that come with it on KR808 cartos.

The greencig cartos will work on the kr808 batteries only if they have the groove near the hole in the battery. It works on my old kr808 auto battery, but not on my new manual batteries. No loss because I didn't care for the greencig cartos - no taste or throat hit compated to the kr808 cartos imo. Hope that is more clear, I know it is hard to figure all this out when you aren't familiar with the models! ;)
