I've read dozens and dozens of posts in the last year or so about people having to pull their posts. In my opinion men are usually very heavy-handed and think that the tighter it is the better it works. There's no reason to have to screw down your cartomizers tightly, it needs to be snug in order to make contact but not tightly. I own 9 Egos and have never had to pull a post.

HA! Men... pull their posts! Bahahaha

Come on... I laughed my post off!

SLB eGo-V True VV Pass Through eGo 3.0-6.0v w/ LCD Screen
$29.95

Introducing an exciting new product at GotVapes - The SLB eGo-V True Variable Voltage 650mah eGo! We have the eGo-V at GotVapes in all three available colors: BLACK, GRAY & SILVER.

The SLB eGo-V is one of the first true variable voltage eGos and is adjustable from 3.0-6.0v in .1 increments. It features a blue LCD screen that shows not only the voltage but your remaining battery life.

The eGo-V by SLB provides a mini-USB port at the bottom and can be used as a pass-through meaning you can vape at your computer while the unit charges. It is recommended to have at least 1.5amps availble when charging for consistent performance.

Chris & I tested this before ordering for GotVapes and we both were very impressed with its performance through the range of voltages in both its simplicity of use, accuracy and battery life:
  • Even though it is only 650mah it seemed to provide a good strong battery life.
  • No puff count nonsense or other useless features on its PCB board. You simply press the two + or - buttons and it changes the voltage.
  • Once you reach the higher or lower ends of the voltage range it simply cycles around either way (for example - pushing down at 3.0 takes you to 6.0, pushing up at 6.0 takes you to 3.0).
  • Also features a voltage lock-down whereby if you press both buttons at once it locks the voltage so as not to change it accidentally. To unlock it you would simply press both buttons again.

Let's review the SLB eGo-V features:
  • 3.0v-6.0v Variable Voltage in .1 increments
  • Blue LCD display for voltage & battery charge level
  • 5 click on/off safety feature
  • Voltage Lock Down (hold down + and - buttons to set and release)
  • Tactile soft recessed button
  • 650 mAh Li-Polymer battery provides about 500 puffs per charge
  • It is an eGo form factor so completely compatible with other eGo accessories and cartomizers
  • Micro USB charging port/Passthrough
  • 40 inch USB cable
  • 3 amp current limit
  • 115mm or 4.25 inches; 14mm wide (same as a regular eGo)
  • Comes in a very attractive presentation box with manual pamphlet.

About to order a couple of these and I have a question. When I do not have a pc around to use the usb charger can I charge this using my ego wall charger?
I never use my PT on the usb connection of the computer. I always use a wall wart usb, 2Amp. You can pick them up most anywhere if you're gonna be without your computer to charge or use the PT's :D

Ok i'll go to wall mart and see what they have, I have just been using my usb on the desktop, but i'm going out of town with my wife for a week long get-a-way soon, its out 13th anniversary and there will be no computers allowed lol.
They should have them. Make sure it's the 2amp ones. I use my Pass thrus on them all the time to vape with plus charge other stuff with them too. :D

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY !!!

(LESS then 2 AMP won't have enough power for PT vaping )

VERY wise choice !!
I personally DO NOT reccomend hooking up to a pc's USB port...nor a cell phone usb charger for that matter...

I have to ask, "Why?" The reason is that I have surrounded myself with USB ports in my life and it annoys me to no end that only three items: my corporate Blackberry, wireless headphones and my Motorola Bluetooth speaker need a special usb charger. Everything else, from cell phones to ego chargers and pass through batteries run on a standard USB charger. The U in USB stands for "Universal" but it seems some devices just cannot do that.

If I buy these for my wife and me, will they be yet-another-thing that needs a special USB charger?

Thanks,
Marty

It's not that they need a special USB. Just in the past I've read where some (NOT THESE) pass thru's have ruined the motherboards in the computers. So I just got in the habit of not plugging them into the computer cuz I never want to chance anything happening to either my PT or the computer. That's all :) I can afford a new PT, but I can't afford a new computer at the drop of a hat  I'm just a worry wart is all I guess............

Pass Thru's have come a long way in quality from first coming out available to us a few years ago. They are much better then they used to be (in my opinion only) You'll prolly not have any trouble with these :)

Here's why: (Taken from Wikipedia)

Some non-standard USB devices use the 5 V power supply without participating in a proper USB network which negotiates power draws with the host interface. These are usually referred to as USB decorations. The typical example is a USB-powered keyboard light; fans, mug coolers and heaters, battery chargers, miniature vacuum cleaners, and even miniature lava lamps are available. In most cases, these items contain no digital circuitry, and thus are not Standard compliant USB devices at all. This can theoretically cause problems with some computers, such as drawing too much current and damaging circuitry; prior to the Battery Charging Specification, the USB specification required that devices connect in a low-power mode (100 mA maximum) and communicate their current requirements to the host, which would then permit the device to switch into high-power mode.

Some devices, when plugged into charging ports, draw even more power (10 watts or 2.1 Amps) than the Battery Charging Specification allows. The iPad and MiFi 2200 are two such devices.[65] Barnes & Noble NOOK devices also require a special charger that runs at 1.9 Amps.[66]

I personally will stick with a $6 wall wart, over possibly blowing my $275.00 Asus Motherboard....

You may very well get away with the Cell phone charger, but I doubt it will provide enough Go-Go juice...

I just got one of these in the mail yesterday and really like everything about it. Great value for a 3.0-6.0 vv mod with pass through capabilities.

I've always used mechanical mods for the most part and this is my first go with an eGo type rechargable battery. Does it affect the longevity of the battery to totally deplete it before recharging. Also wanted to see if anyone knows approximately how many times these can be charged before they quit taking a charge and will need to be tossed.

Thanks!

I ran mine all the way down and then plugged it in and took a copule of hits but it just cut out. It doesn't appear to be a true pass through in that repect but once I let it charge for a few minutes it worked great. So in my opinion it's all good. Even though it's not a true pass through it's still a great little device.

Thanks!

yes same here, until it was almost dead and then redid it, still doesnt mean anyting to me, if its plugged in, it charges and that im happy with, this does so much right that im not bothered by that at all, some maybe might but i really dont see why. Its the first ego vv bat that shines in all areas and is built well and has cool simple features and is easy to use with voltages that are pretty spot on underload. all in all a real winner in my books

I've yet to pick up a wall wart. I keep forgetting every time I go into Walmart! My printer has 2 USB ports that I have been using. It was a $50 printer, so should it cave then I'm only out a printer. It's wireless, so nothing is even hooked to my PC. Just tossing that out there for those who don't have a wall wart yet, but have printers with USB ports :)
