I recommend you boil your yarn. That removes dirt from the store / warehouse / shipping / packaging, etc.
It also removes sizing, bluing & bleach used for whitening.
I do not soak it overnight. I just boil it.

Don't know what others do with their cotton rounds, but I boil those too, for the same reasons listed above.

Just for fun, my Drunker and eVic finally made it to the office. Some how being at work just got better.

Now that the office is fully stocked, I can get back to work.

Donna H, your peanut butter is scrumpdelicious in the drunker. For me the inhale is tasty but not immediately identifiable but the exhale and after taste...oh.my.goodness.

It's great in the 804 and dripped on my spin-E, but somehow it's best in the drunker. I have a 1.7 ohm coil, set at 3.6 volts on the yj which means 7.6 watts. That's a little higher than I normally vape and I'm also vaping direct from the drunker without a drip tip. I'm getting plumes of warm peanut butter goodness lol.

If the recipe is over in the diy section, do you have any links? (also your coffee capp. It's really good also.)

I'm glad you like it :) I'll pm the recipes to you (I'm at work right now)

I am thinking I should try a cotton yarn wick soon. will try some mentioned in here. I've had a hard time with consistency in my wicks. It seems like the last couple I made from a cotton roll were maybe too thin and didn't wick good, plus the 34 gauge kanthal has been giving me too high ohms. I resorted to my Vivi nova this past week until I can find time to try again :(

Quick check in. Just loaded first Drunker with stock coil (after hot water wash as I do most new things) and have it on Buzz Pro. Also loaded first ever ViVi Nova, stock coil, on Infinity Pro. Have a Stardust going on Robust Rider. (DH loves his VV eGos and Mini ViVi Nova and I'm playing with his Stardust cast-offs.) (Haven't put my Killers in tanks yet as I'm using them as attys on VV BF REOs.)

Anyway I'm really impressed with the Drunker. More vapor, flavor, and better TH than the other two. And I really like the compactness of the Drunker compared to most RBA tanks.

Imo, the drunker needs fairly thin wicks and small diameter coils to function best. Study the pictures Adeline posted and note the feed hole where you can see some space around the wick. All of my wick holes look like that. Small wicks prevent choking at the slots in the ceramic also.

I also suggest doubling your wire to get the ohms down. It's easy to do and works well.

To double your wire, cut about 10 in. and loop the ends together and hold them with tweezers or pliars. Use a nail, paper clip, or small allen wrench to twist the wire together. About 6 to 8 twists per inch should be enough twists.

I prefer wrapping on something small (1/16 in diameter) and feeding one wick through the coil and one wick on top but that's only because it makes wick replacement easier. Hand wrapping around both wicks with a needle or paper clip works just as well and often you can still get the old wick out without destroying the coil for wick replacement.

Which ever method you use, wrap your coil very close, even touching (it will not short) so that you can get several wraps in the ceramic. I'd suggest 6 wraps if hand wrapping and 8 if pre wrapping around something 1/16th in diameter.

I hope some of this helps. :vapor:

Edit: I'm thinking about trying some of the peaches and cream also. It might be easier to work with. The secret to the cotton rounds is to twist them. The more they are twisted, the harder it is to pull them apart.

Hello all,

I determined that my experiments outside the drunker tank did not belong here. I want to share my successes and failures tinkering and would love some company. Please take a look and consider joining me. All you need is a camera, a lack of embarrassment when you fail and a willingness to share with others your discoveries good and bad.

Thanks for all your help with my Drunker RBT!

Thank you so much for your help. I'm not sure I understand twisting the wires together though. So you are saying I can intertwine 2 wires to together and then wrap that many loops around a wick and it won't short and it lowers the ohms? If I sound dumb asking, sorry. I will study her pics again about the wicks also.

Yes, just make a loop and hold the two ends and spin it together. It cuts the resistance in half. For example, if your normal setup came out to 2.8 ohms, then it would come out 1.4 ohms with the twisted wire, and you need to add more wraps to get it higher.

There's some pictures of it in some of the threads but I didn't bookmark them. Several are using it for their ss setups, and I think there was a picture in the 'show us your working wick' thread. If you have any problems with it, please post back and I'll try to find you some pictures.

There are no dumb questions here, MiamaMom....no apology necessary lol. :vapor:

Warning: Just got my new Drunker. I noticed the inside of the tank looked scratched when held up to the light. I looked closer, then blew into it. Some of them moved. Then I gently scraped around the inside tank walls with a toothpick. Sure enough, its not scratched. Its covered in tiny silica shards. Stuck to tank wall by electrostatic charge? Probably from the 4 wicks rubbing against the plastic when screwed and unscrewed. This scared me. Call me crazy, but I don't want silica shards in my body. I won't use this tank until I've cleaned it and rewicked with cotton. Or will tiny fragments of cotton be just as bad?? I dunno.....HELP!
