Eh, I won't be in town this weekend, so even getting it by Saturday isn't a concern. Sometime next week will do. Hopefully they'll get it out the door by tomorrow though. I got the Stamps.com notice and a notice that it had shipped. Probably means it's in a box waiting for pickup though.

I much prefer glass as well, but short of going true genny style (not quite ready to mess with mesh), I don't see many options. I glanced at the protank, but can't watch videos at the moment (at the office).

I have glass carto tanks to set up with my Rebuildable Cartomizer (should be here ... tomorrow?!), and that will have to do for any of the trouble juices I want to put in a tank. I understand the limitations of the Drunker and A8 as far as juices go, and I'm okay with it for the price. I'll wait for ECF members to vet and test a non-genny style glass tank type RBA. Until a great one comes to the market, I'm perfectly fine with dripping the trouble juices, or using my Killer.

I really need to stop buying stuff though. :p

you should really go genny style. few learning mistakes. awesome vape. not much leaking on thick juices. what's not to like?

Extra steps with the wick. Hot spots. Rolling SS mesh. Oxidizing. Torching. Juice burning.

No thanks!

I love the smooth vape from the genny-style, but all that extra work is a turn-off at this point.

I can vouch for adeline on this one. I've been trying to get my Vulcan RBA to work right for a week now. I think I've watched every youtube video and searched every post on this forum on how to build these wicks and still no luck.

Roll the mesh, oxidize the mesh, burn the juice, wrap the coil, get a hotspot, play with the coil, get a dry hit, play with the wick and coil again, get another hotspot, play with the coil, pop the coil. Game over. What a freakin PITA!!!!

And let me just add, I am very adept at this kinda stuff but wow. Just wow. Obviously it's not impossible but who has the friggin time for this crap?

Yeah, I'll probably keep at it because that just that way I am with things and just to say I've done it. I shallant be beaten!!! I'm a glutton for punishment I guess.

I didn't mean to sound so negative. It was but one experience I had with ordering from them, and I was a bit surprised it took a full week to receive the items.

I'm in the process of converting my AGA-T2 to alternative wicks, either cotton or hemp (I keep failing with cotton, despite reading the entire cotton thread), so I'll have a glass/stainless mod that (hopefully) gives me the best of both worlds. If the Drunker were stainless and glass, I'd have one already because I really do like the design.

It is a pain, but worth it once you get it set up -- but I've decided I don't like the potential risks of oxidizing stainless, and I was never crazy about the juice flavor through stainless. I jump back to a cotton-wicked ViviNova and just really enjoy the vape more.

as i said this tank looks promising. but why do they leave some minor things out? like that horrible rubber grommet that burns by the heated wire and gives the bad taste. manufacture price they say. fine but make 2 kinds. a cheap one and a more expensive one. you have the good initial setup with the ceramic cup, just find a way to connect the wires without using the damn grommet, add a glass tank and you will probably have a more expensive device but surely a near perfect one. and ppl would be happy to buy it.

I don't get a bad taste when I don't use NR wire. The grommet isn't giving off a taste at all. That said, I'm now wrapping with NR wire, so that little puppy is protected regardless.

Moving away from the ceramic cup design, and toward a tank like this but with POSTS to connect your wire, check out the A8 at empiremods or high desert vapes.

Not sure why you keep popping back in here to tell us what you don't like about a tank you haven't used. Maybe there will be a revision, but until then....

I'm happy I bought mine, but then again I use a nr rw welder so there's no burnt grommet. Even before i used nr legs the grommet didn't burn because the legs are a half inch long each. I mainly use nr wire legs to lower the ohms of my favorite r-wire. It's a great devcie for the price and there are loads of other expensive atties out there.

Would you mind posting a link for the Rebuildable cartomizer? I've tried googling it and so far no luck.

sorry about that. just a rant about the chinese doing half things and then releasing a revision 1 week after. is nothing about the drunken tank itself.

I'm in the same boat. When my vulcan works... it's awesome! I can't put it down, I can't go the bed, I don't want to do anything but vape it.. but it never seems to last for long, a couple days tops and then I can taste a difference in the vape, so I have to mess with it, recoil it, adjust my coils... I get obsessed with getting that awesome vape back! I can't go to bed, I can't sleep... I almost wish I'd never got it and found that awesome vape because once you find it, it's hard to go back LOL.

I do enjoy my zap.. it's been perfect with the stock wick and coil since I got it.. maybe the insulator in the wick hole has something to do with it but it's been nothing BUT consistent and I never even do any adjusting. I don't know if it was worth $150 but if someone were to offer me $150 for it I would turn them down... I'm very happy with it. I try to setup my vulcan just like the zap but it never lasts. But when all the stars align and it works right, it's better than the zap and the drunker. Right now it's (the vulcan) giving a hot burnt taste so I know something is up in there. I think i"ll intentionally pop my coil just so I'll have to coil another LOL... or maybe it's my wick that's the culprit.. I don't know but I'm determined to master the thing!

With all that being said, (and this being the drunker thread) I am soooo glad I tried the drunker! For me, there was no learning curve since I was already proficient at recoiling the vvn. While my zap stays at home and is used at home... my drunker gets tossed in my purse and goes everywhere with me and is used out and about AND here at home :D

It's called the Killer 705. It's out of stock except for one place (and that is only a pre-order, and it's way overpriced)
From the maker (in Greece): KILLER 705
From England: The Killer
From Ireland (preorder, overpriced): The Killer

Good luck!

It can be used in a carto tank, or as a dripping atty too.

I love the smooth vape from the genny-style, but all that extra work is a turn-off at this point.

My biggest problem with ss wicks is juice runback. I can't make it through a whole tank without having to syringe out the bottom part and tossing it because it's cooked dark and strong. There isn't any gunk or anything, it's just dark.

I have one mix that is steeped and dark to start with. I don't get as much flavor change on it, but my two main mixes are mixed strong to start with and they won't abide much cooking.

I've read some posts where folks recommend 500 mesh rolled solid to help with that issue. I haven't tried that as I only have the 400 that came with my duds. What I have tried is wrapping a couple of wraps of cheese cloth around the ss, letting it extend below the ss, and pluging the center hole with cotton. That did help, but not enough to suit me.

With the drunker, I can run a whole tank full through with no, or very little, change in flavor. Plus, as Donnah points out in one of her threads, the flavor is just as good.

Here is my nr-rw welder, not the prettiest thing I built but works just great and yes that is a sandwhich container lol. The two wires in the second pic are both 1 and 1/4" inches 33 awg kanthal rw with pure nickel welded legs at 1.8ohms each (what I have in my drunker and both vivi novas). The last pic is 30 awg kanthal with pure nickel legs just because i wanted to see how it stood up against really thick rw's. The welds are holding up really strong as if one solid wire, very happy with the results. It's really made my drunker perform perform better now I can get the ohms I want with thinner awg wire, not to mention my VN's wont have singe marks anymore.

Has anyone come across a tank like the A8 with a bigger tank? 5ml perhaps? If you do, please let me know. Those posts are the way to go.

I just ordered the A8, which looks quite decent.
A little tip for those struggling with SS mesh and gennies, try setting up your atty with silica wick. I've ran my Aga T2 for a few days like this now, and it's just awesome. 1.2 ohm coil that rocks on a mech mod(and takes 15watt on the Vamo no problem), incredibly nice flavor from the juices I've run through it so far.
And it's very easy to set up.

I'll do it here, in case others could need a quick and easy way to set up one.
What I did was pretty much following the instructions in this video:

Watch it from around 4:30.
Very easy to do and vapes fantastically. Don't be afraid of making it quite low in resistance if you have a mod that can handle it.
