My experience is that the short battery, the mighty atom, works a lot better then the genie. It seems to have higher output and really not that much difference in life. I have 4 mighty atoms and 4 of the genies... I have been messing with the EVO for a month. I would rather have mighty atoms any day. 2 of my genies freaked out and supply power to the atomizer when the light is off. I burned up 3 atomizers before I figured out what was going wrong. I do love the way the EVO works when it's working properly. Tried to go back to my 901's in frustration at the battery situation and really hated the 901...

"I ordered my Evo on 2/11. I'm in Florida. I hope I get mine soon! I don't want any short batteries. My short Pilot battery lasts me only about two hours.

I was actually waiting for my Evo to come and test it out and if I liked it, I was going to buy some more long batteries for it. Guess that won't happen, if they just substitute without asking you.

Are the cart you got with it the larger ones or the smaller ones? I was hoping for the larger ones.

Let us know how you like your Evo. "
.......................................................................................................................
Did I mention New? as in Green? I really couldn't tell you what size the carts were- they were whatever shipped with my kit (new- did I mention that already?)
was my battery pre charged? dunno. the teeny card with bitty type that came as a manual said to charge before use so I did...

I Love vaping- I am already down to just 3 "burny things" and it's been less than 24 hours
:D

That said, there is a learning curve to the Evo & I'm not the best at it yet- I can't seem to get much vapor and my cart keeps leaking on my lips...
But I *think* that's my bad not the product.

Huge ++:
it feels just like a smoke on the back of my throat and the sample carts taste scary close to the tobacco I was rolling!
for that alone I am a very happy camper.

I ordered mine on Monday and received it on Wednesday. I requested two of the short batteries instead of the longer ones. When charging them via usb on the laptop I find they're not lighting up when fully charged (I see elsewhere on the forum I'm not alone) so I've no idea how long they're taking to charge. They blink the expected 5 times when starting to charge but I've tried charging both and no continuous light ever appeared (I left one for 4 hours). They do seem to be charged though and I'm getting 3-5 hours use with them but I'm not sure if that's good or bad as I'm smoking it sporadically.

I love the look of the evo and both smoke and throat hit seem good but I'm not sure about the taste. I found the regular high that came with it a bit off putting (it's my first e-cig) but when I tried one of the menthol high cartridges I bought as an extra I couldn't taste much of a difference. My first thought was they had sent regular instead of the ordered menthol but I can definitely smell the menthol when sniffing the cartridge itself. Is the fact I'm having difficulty discerning the difference normal or is it likely to be down to the atomiser needing broke in?

I'm going to persevere with it for a while in the hope it grows on me but I was disapponted it didn't give me more of a buzz at the outset (hadn't smoked for several days prior to getting it) although, unlike the day before, I rarely gave real cigs a second thought.

Hi Adik Ted,

If you're getting about 3-5 hrs from a Mighty Atom battery I'd say that that's about right. If you try the Genie (longer battery) I've found you can get about 8 hrs. The taste thing might be partly due to stopping analogs. Tobacco does terrible things to your tastebuds. Give it a week and I bet it'll be a different story! Persevere - it does take a little while to break the atomisers in imho.

My Evo finally came today! I have a battery charging right now. I'm off to work this afternoon, so probably won't get to vape it until tonight.

I ordered 10 extra carts in regular and they sent menthol instead. :-(

The box was in good condition. The package was marked "inhaler" and I had to sign for it.

No receipt was in the package.

I have opened up one of the cart packaging to check the size. They are the larger ones. Great, that's what I was hoping for. Hopefully a full one will last longer than the Pilot cart.

I'll let you all know how it vapes in a few days.

I also just got my EVO on the 24th (ordered on the 14th, and yeah it still says "invoiced" on the website). I am also having an issue with the USB charger; it doesnt indicate when the battery is done charging. Just the 5 initial blinks, and then nothing. With all 3 of the batts I got. I've just been alternating use between that and my Pilot charger, seems to be working ok so far. Is this lack of fully charged indicator a problem, or does anyone have any more info on it?

Did you look inside the plastic envelope that was stuck on your package and marked 'DOCUMENTS ENCLOSED'?
Jimi.

Thanks Jimi. Why didn't I think of that? I think I was so excited that it finally came, I didn't think of it. It was there!

Anyway, I've been using the long battery for the past 7 hours. Not straight, I did have a few appointments where I don't vape. The battery finally just gave out. that's okay, I just popped a short one on!

I really love the size of the carts! They are just about twice the size of the Pilot carts! I am also getting a little juice in my mouth. I think I top off a little too much anyway. I used to get juice in my mouth with the Pilot. The filled carts were very dry when I opened them.

For just half a day vaping the Evo, I like it very much. Now I wish I had a black one also. ;-)

update- I stand corrected: I have been vaping on the mighty atom for 2.5 days without recharging and it 's still going strong!
I changed the leaky cart. out & added a drop of VG to the new one, between that and learning to do a slow gentle draw I am now getting plenty of vapor.
I am delighted with my Evo & and accidentally converted 2 of my friends this afternoon.
Now all I need to do is learn how to put the damn thing down!!

I finally got my EVO today after a long wait of 28 days ! I pretty impressed so far, this thing looks great and i get a lot of vapor. Both the batteries that came with it were fully charged. I did get liquid in my mouth a few times, pretty nasty i should say ! But over all its been great. Just as ~kerri said, i got to learn how to put this thing down, i have been vaping pretty regularly for the last few hours and i already feel a nicotine buzz !!! :)

I seen something earlier about 2 and 4 hole atomisers. What's the difference and how do you tell what you have? Looking at my atomiser there's a U shape thing at the end (a bit like the eye of a needle but thicker). Is that like a 2 hole atomiser?

The taste's difinitely improved on mine but I've got a bit of a sore throat and sound a bit like Darth Vader. I've smoked about 8 high nicotine cartridges since I got it (3 days - I don't know if that's a lot). My breathing isn't great either (I've been recently diagnosed as having COPD). Are they in any way harmful on the throat/lung or is it just a case of getting used to them?

Adik Ted: Drink lots of water. The same thing happened to me the first couple days. Apparently part of it has to do with not smoking analogs, but it could also be the PG drying you out somewhat. I adapted to vaping after a couple days, you should to. If your throat continues to be sore, I'd stop.

Can't really answer your question on the atomizers, though. What I do know is that the more holes, supposedly the easier the draw.

Hi Housewife. In my experience this is pretty typical of the EVO as well as the 401 and 402. I think it depends on what you connect the USB charger to. The full charge indicator does not show when connected to the USB plug on my Dell monitor, but it almost always does when connected to my APC battery pack. It may be that the PC isn't putting out enough power to fully charge the battery or it's just an anomoly. Of course then there's the whole issue of whether or not the battery is in fact fully charged even when the LED does light up.

There's a thread about this on the tips and tricks forum entitled "evo usbcharging tip" (I'd post the link but not allowed to until after 15 posts or more) although lechvutz has summarised it pretty well.

I've been looking at mine again and I can't see any holes apart from the big one underneath the wire bridge (or eye of a needle as I referred to it above) unless the space under the bridge counts as a hole. Will no kindly soul describe where these holes are meant to be?
