Intellicig EVO reliability problems

On their site, IntelliCig state that their Genie (no mention of Atom) batteries are sourced outside of China. So maybe that's why they feel secure in claiming it lasts at least 600 recharges?

PURE RUBBISH - ASK TO SEE THE WEEE OR ROHS CERTIFICATE ON THE BATTERY.
The batteries are from China as are every single other part. The manufacturing is not consistent. They claim the only cigarette fully assembled in the UK. What that means is they put it in a box in the UK.!!!

Some will be great others not. Just like most e-cigs... thats the fact of the matter......

I'm not at all pleased with my EVO/Evolution from intellicig.com UK, nore am I happy with the companies service.

I placed an order with them and after about a week and not getting the usual tracking/item shipped notification, I emailed them and they said they'd ship that day. The product seemed ok, but not that great, defective batteries from the start? I wasn't sure. Both batteries died within 2 weeks and they were not heavily used. Said they'd ship more batteries.

Again, no DC/tracking or confirmation of shipment. I figured I'd be patient this time and wait. 2 weeks later, nothing. I asked for tracking, they didn't have it, then eventually admitted the replacement batteries were not shipped. They did "say" again they'd ship them, but that was enough for me, I'm done with them at that point.

In my experience the company sells a bad product, is evasive, slow to ship, if at all and certianly someone I will never do busines with again.

I can understand why, with your experience, you would feel that way, but it has not been my, or many other people's experience.

IMHO the Evo is of a better quality than other 401s out there. I can't claim to have tried them all, but I have tried quite a few and I can tell an Evo from the others blindfold!

I will certainly grant you that intellicig have been slow to ship on several occasions and IMO, that is the only thing letting down a great company.

So you have been to our factory in China and you know that our batteries are really Chinese? I wonder what's on your agenda? Well I have to tell you unequivocally that you are talking absolute nonsense. Our batteries are sourced outside of China, which is one of the reasons that the EVO has become one of the most popular ecigs on the market and why it is now exported to over 20 countries worldwide with branded websites in many of those countries. Maybe you ought to speak to the 50,000+ EVO owners and tell them that they are all mistaken?;) I'm off to Poland tomorrow to help another supplier with a major promotional event on Saturday and I may well become the face that launched a thousand kits!8-o
Best wishes.

Thanks for your understanding, Angela and I'm glad yourself and others have had a different experience. Always good when things work out.

Maybe you can help me out. You use the term "many" and since that's hard to define in a case like this, is there a board/thread on this site that gives us the numbers on satisfaction rating for the EVO/intellicig.com and maybe other models/vendors?

You see, John C gives us a number, but are those 50,000+ "satisfied" customers? A good rating breakdown would help a lot in my search for a good product with good customer service.

I'm new so, I should probably take a look around for myself, but if you know of anything right off hand, much thanks for any help.

3characters+, I am sorry to hear your dissatisfaction with the Evo. I chose the Evo as my main e-cig after a lot of research since my 1st e-cig left me wanting. I did purchase a m401 kit for spare parts and I can say I do see a difference in build quality, finish, reliability and I find the batteries much better from Intellicig. In my opinion the Evo is a well built reliable personal vaporizer. John and crew have been great to me and they addressed my concerns to my satisfaction. I would sell them if I could, almost everyone that has seen mine wants one.
All the best, happy vaping.

No - nothing like that that I know of, but I bought my EVO after reading the forums for about a month first to try and decide what it was that I wanted, so there is plenty of info out there (just not all in one spot)!

All of my research led me to the EVO, and I'm very glad that it did ;)

I had a very similar experience to Angela. Looking on the forum, watching Igetcha and Teraphon's reviews and researching different products. I own a 901 (never use it anymore, a 510 (still breaking in) and an EVO, which spends 16 hours a day twirling around my fingers or cranking out glorious clouds of vapor.

No company is perfect, and since my first purchase I have made others, ECOpure, parts, kits for friends etc. I had one shipping mishap, and it was intellicigs fault.

What did they do? Well John said "this is my fault and I'm sorry, it won't happen again", and it hasn't. I was impressed that he was there to answer my long winded (go figure) emails as well as my phone calls and he was really helpful and genuinely a nice guy who cares about his companies clients. I find that even more impressive now that I realize here is a guy dealing with tens of thousands of dollars in orders, in many countries, and he is taking the time to spend an hour on the phone with me to placate my whining about why my spare batteries are'nt on my doorstep.

IMO intellicig is a great company who backs their products and rectifies there mistakes. They are busy, it might take a few phone calls or a few emails but they do care, and they will take care of you.

I also agree that no other 401/402 touches the EVO in terms of performance, theyare just differnt. Looks can be deceiving.

Once bitten..... :)

Sleep, I see you had trouble with them too, mind if I ask what problem you had getting your spare batteries?

Seems some even speaking for this company, had issues with them. Not a good sign.

"perfect", I never expect that, but when a company deals with a product that they know before they ship, some of the product is going to be bad (just common sense they know they are going to ship a certian amount of bad batteries) anyway, that's bad enough, but to slouch around and not fix it in a timely manner, they are simply asking for trouble.

Someone mentioned something about them being swamped. While running a piddly small online business of my own with no business experience at alI, even I knew how to fix that when the problem arose.

Off to check some off site reviews.

Thanks for your input, Sleep.

Hi,

I also have an EVo bought from intellicig and IMO it works great.
I had a problem with my order as I ordered a black EVO starter kit and received a white one. After emailing to them i was quite disapointed with that, they appologized and sent me a Black EVO kit plus 10 additional black cartdriges free of charge. So I only have to praise for their service. 5 stars really.

P.S. I didn't have to return the white kit either. So this clearly demonstrates their commitment to customer satisfaction.

So, what I'm getting here is most if not all, thus far, have had problems with the company.

I can certainly understand the joy when you get a timely replacement and end up with a free item, but my sitting here with a completely useless product because they wouldn't ship the replacement batteries nor refund unless I agreed to be out, what? around $30? US for return/original shipping? Let's just say that doesn't exactly inspire confidence in intellcig. ;)

3characters+, sorry but I couldn't fully understand your problem (maybe some fault with my english)? Are you saying intellicig won't replace your faulty batteries unless you return them back (with mail post charges associated)?
In my case I'm from Portugal and their service in my case was impecable... they have responded in a matter of hours to my email complaining and 4 days later I had a new package delivered at at my door step.

P.S. I've heard some freaky stories in this forum about a company named intellicigS not intellicig with major issues regarding quality and delivery of goods. Hope it's not your case mate. I cannot post links yet but take a look and search for intellicigS in this forum.

Nes, They originally told me they would ship replacement batteries and a self addressed envelope for me to return the bad batteries. 2 weeks later and finding they didn't ship, I asked for a full refund including shipping. I was told no refund on return shipping and that I must return them for the refund.

Upon rereading the email, they did not address the issue of original shipping. My apologies if I'm wrong, but with the customer service I've received so far, I assumed they will keep the original shipping as well and I have no evidence to suggest differently.

I would have been happy to return the entire kit, even before they refunded, but that was not offered by Icig. I will not return at my expense when they were the one to drop the ball on their warranty.

I have heard of the similar site and we are talking about the right one, but thanks for the warning just the same.

Wing, sorry, I missed your post. For the sake of relevance to subject, I have to wonder, of those that have seen yours and want one, how will they feel if after ordering, their experience is the same as mine?

I'm glad they like the product at this point, but so much remains to be seen.

That is really a bummer mate. I don't know where you live. If you are from USA maybe you could contact their representatives there... I really don't know. I was contacted from Susanne from intellicig and she was really a darling handling my issue. I'm sending you a PM with her email address. You can quote me if you want.

Cheers
