Just wondering if you heard anything about his U.S. site going up or what the address might be? I really enjoyed your review and would love to get my hands on one of these! Thanks very much for the info :)

hi mate,

there is a US site that has started selling the evo but i would not recommend them. the guy stole my video review, then edited it to make out that he was me and then uploaded it to youtube as his own work. i complained and had it removed but then he created multiple accounts and spammed me. i also know that at one stage his website was up and running, even though he didnt have the goods in his posession. for those reasons i would not want to give out his web address. hope you understand.

the uk site does ship to the usa now and i can recommend them for customer service and quality. also, even with the shipping costs the UK site is far cheaper than the US site!

so, i will only recommend www.intellicig.com

good luck mate!

Is that US site an official EVO site or is it a local entrepreneur? Prices are crazy high, more than double the UK site in some cases!

well, the uk site is supplying them with the EVO but im not so sure if that makes them official or not!

if my reviews generate more customers of the EVO then i would prefer the UK site to get the business rather than that ****!

i trust john, so im happy to recommend him.

i dont trust the US guy who steals my work and then spams my account so that is why i dont want to give out the US site address.

i think it would be good for one of the trusted sellers on this forum to strike up a deal with john to distribute the EVO. that way our american friends can purchase an EVO in the US with confidence and shorter shipping times..........any takers?

Well if people do buy from that site Intellicig will get some benefit, but at the prices they are charging why anyone would buy from them is beyond me.

Actually guys, I received an email from John today. I ordered my 'starter kit' from him on December 30th and have not received it yet...but he assures me that it will be here very soon. He is saying that customs may be sticking their collective noses in on packages sent to the U.S. He confirmed that he is looking to join forces with a company in Florida to sell his products in the U.S...which of course will make the whole customs issue a 'non-issue' for U.S. customers.

As for pricing, he state that the pricing will be HOPEFULLY as good as the the UK site.

See email attached:
Hi Mike, normally it takes 2-5 days but recently some US orders seem to have been delay and I'm not sure why.
Maybe customs are sticking their noses in, especially if any go through x-ray machines they might look a bit suspicious in the current political climate?
It might just be the postal services catching up after the holidays but please keep me updated as I don't like customers having to wait.
We will soon have an officially affiliated site running from Florida which should be able to service the US and which has strong links with us.
The site will almost mirror the UK one but will be tailored to the US market with prices as good as on the UK site hopefully.
It's a very busy time for us and the business is having to expand quickly to meet demand, looks like The EVO Has Landed!

Best wishes.

My LED doesn't stay lit when charged on the mains, sooo wish it did, perhaps theres some logic in the batteries that lets it know its in a USB charger!

I'm pretty certain that the mains charger measures the voltage and cuts the power. The USB charger relies on the batteries intelligence to shut down charging and you get the tip LED coming on. I have measured the voltage when using the USB charger and the tip LED comes on at 4.7v This is at the top end for a lithium battery. I suspect the mains charger cuts out at about 4.2v. Can't be sure as I ain't cracking the mains charger open to find out.

Just a theory, may be completely wrong

about charging.

i think the mains charger ist charging with 100mah to 150mah. so it needs 2 hours to get the battery full.

the usb is charging with full usb power.
thats normally 500mah

thats why the battery is full in about half an hour.
i hope the battery doesnt load on an 1000mah usb with 1000mah

normally a lithium battery should be charged with 1C.
that means a 250mah lithium batter should be charged with 250mah.
so charging a lithium battery takes always 1 hour.

when charging a 250mah battery with 1000mah = 4C
that normaly shortens the battery life.

however i would like LiFePO4 batteries in the evo
they can do 4000 cycles an be loaded to 90% in 5 minutes :)

thats way over my head! good info though mate!

Great review. I've been looking into getting one of these to supplement my 901. I have been holding back because they dont offer a USA charger option, but I may just bite the bullet and use the USB charger. The question I have for those folks who have the EVO is, can you use the eliquids with it, or do you have to stick with the prefilled carts (b/c they don't offer empty cartridges)?

Thanks guys

there is no light on the usb so it doesnt actually tell you when it is charged. but i just leave mine plugged in for about 2 - 3 hours and that gives me about 8 - 12 hours vaping. another guy on another post has said that the usb charger charges really quick so you might be able to charge it for less time than what i do!

vapour on it is very good indeed, plus it is very consistant. mine produces great vapour right up to the point when the battery runs out. it then just flashes and says "time to charge me!".

unlike the evo, my other e cigs gradually produce less and less vapour as the battery drains. the atomiser is a little noisy to start off with but that will clear after a day or 2 of use. mine is super quiet now!

always worth getting spare parts.......epecially if you are a clumsy **** like me who keeps dropping the atomiser!

go for it, im sure you will love it

I would be interested to know how you are calculating Batteries life per charge.
do you know/time exactly how many minutes you have used it each session and do you keep count keep track of every session?
Also how much is light to medium vaping.

1 EVO Genie Battery lasts me maybe about 4 to 5 hours and that’s not smoking it all the time so the Genie maybe last just 3 to 4 hours full use from a full charge.

That was the EVOlution Try Me Kit (EVO-1) bought on the 12 January, 2009.

It lasts a little longer than the battery supplied from mirage.
I assumed this may have been due to using the M401 charger that came with the mirage.
I note that some in this thread also use the M401 but seem to get 12hr plus usage.

I did not see this thread until a day ago and have received two more genie Batteries today with a USB charger a EVOlution Starter Kit (EVO-UB) USB As I liked the way they work with the atomizer to other makes.
So I will be able to see if it is a bad Battery .
If these new Batteries last the same time should I think I have two more bad Batteries and email/Tel intellicig about them to get replacements or think that there are some exaggerations going on over the life time of a fully charged Genie battery?

Also I have not had the LED light come on while charging these batteries with the USB charger have tried leaving one on for 3 hours so far but still no LED light to show is charged ?

in my view, moderate vaping is treating it like a cigarette. about 15 puffs every time i need a ciggie or nic fix. but battery life would also depend on how long a drag you take as well.

cant speak for the other guys but dont see why everyone would feel the need to exaggerate.

a few people are experiencing no light going solid when using a usb charger and it would seem it all depends on the pc it is plugged into. from what i have read, some pc's shut down power to a usb port once it detects no more current going out of it which would explain no light going solid when battery is fully charged.

if you are having problems or unhappy with it then contact the guys at intellicig .

My meaning by this is many can exaggerate from guess work.
How many people count say 15 puffs or set a time and make notes of it and make notes of every time they smoke it and record it some people may but I think most don't.

With out exact records it can be easy to think you have smoked more or less than you have thus this could be an exaggeration.

Many ways too smoke an E cig and not always easy to judge exactly how long a Batt last if don't keep to a set pattern and record ones use.

I think you read too much into what some people write and think we mean something else as you have done a review.

Thanks for the info on the USB Charger and additions on how one goes about smoking a E Cig very helpful.

PS some nice tips in your video, very similar to what I have been doing.
