I got my EVOlution through yesterday and took it with me to the pub in the evening, so here's my review of it so far.

It looks like a cigarette. Plain and simple. It comes in a natty cigarette type carton as you can see with charger, cartridges and spare battery (provided you order a starter kit with two batteries).

The atomiser (or vapouriser as they call it :)) has a high bridge on it so it connects with the liquid at the bottom of the cartridge. The cartridge is unusual. It has what looks like a piece of gauze in the bottom on top of the liquid that I assume the liquid passes through. It must do as it smokes well.

The draw on the EVO is very cigarette like. I find that a primer puff isn't required, just a normal cigarette like draw gets plenty of vapour.

Intellicig claim that the cartridge will last about the equivalent of 5-7 cigarettes and I found that to be true. Taking 15 puffs as a cigarette equivalent I found I was getting 5-6 cigs worth out of one cartridge.

Testing out this morning I've found that the cartridges ARE refillable. Just drop two to three drops of your favourite e-liquid in the mouth of the cartridge and let it soak in, then smoke away and it works great.

One battery lasted me all evening in the pub which is great, suggesting the battery life is very good.

All in all I'm very impressed with it initially. I'll see how it performs over time, but it has got a month's warranty on the parts and replacement atomisers and batteries aren't too expensive. £7.99 each.

Nice succinct review, BadSeed - Thanks

Everything I needed to know about it, basically. I'm trying to hold out for the black one when it comes out, but I may be weakening after such a positive review!

Am I right in thinking you got the blue tip one? Funnily enough looking too much like a cigarette is what put me off, part of the reason I got a 901b instead...which doesn't smoke ANYTHING like a cigarette does!

Will you update to let us know how it continues to perform?

The EVO's going great so far. I'm still using my 901 at work, but I was vaping the EVO all over the weekend and this evening. The battery life is excellent.

I did get a faulty mains charger with mine. It charges the batteries fine, but there's a dodgy connection to the LED by the looks of it as it's not working. They're sending me through a replacement though no problem.

Great to know; not so bad getting a faulty part when there's no problem getting a replacement, got to say I can't wait to see what battery life I get out of it.

This 'hobby' can get awful expensive can't it? I've now got 2 901's, 4 super minis, 1 pen style and 2 evo's on the way and still waiting for Janty's Christmas offering!

C'est La Vie :)

It does get a bit pricey. :)

That's all right though. All the money you would've been spending on cigs can go on this instead.

Ah. Makes sense. I've only seen Leaford's review of the m401, I haven't got one.
My EVO is still vaping great.

I got one just to check it out, figured if it wasn't the same, I'd just vape it to death. As it is it will be going into the M401 collection, to be used in places where I pretend to be suave and sophisticated or the Screwdriver would get me arrested.

Got the USB charger which I'm less impressed with, it doesn't have a LED to give you a clue about the charge level.

Took my Evos to a masque ball in London on Friday. Battery lasted all that night and well into the following morning - I was giving it quite a heavy time! My spare did the rounds of some other smokers present, who all seemed keen.

When I first had mine I was alarmed by the "fizz" of the atomiser, but this seems to have eased off lately. No loss of vapour or battery life, however.

Apart from the paint job, my Litecig 401 and EVO are identical, batteries, atomiser and carts.

I don't doubt that they look they same - but on the Intellicig web site they say:

" It features an upgraded pressure switch and a microprocessor that has been programmed to our exacting specifications in order to optimise both performance and safety. "

and

"The EVOlution has a safety cutout feature programmed into its microprocessor. Sucking on the EVO for 5 seconds or more will activate the cutout which switches the unit off for 2 minutes. This is designed to protect the vapouriser from overheating and to protect the user from overuse."

These are things that you wouldn't be able to see from the outside, I suppose...and I don't have a 401 to compare it to. In the end you'd have to ask Intellicig for further details.

You are indeed correct, don't normally manage Leaford 5 second draws.:) I'm not convinced that this cutoff is a good idea. Oh it just came back again, didn't seem as long as 2 minutes but I didn't time it.

Anyway it does look as if the chip has been programmed differently, doesn't make a great deal of difference to me, both the EVO and the Litecig perform very well for a supermini.

I shall now become paranoid about taking too long draws on the EVO:)

Taking a five-second draw does make you feel like someone in a breath-holding competition IMHO:) I'm not sure about the cutout either - unless it protects the atomiser from overheating and therefore getting fritzed, in which case that would be a good idea :)

I'm now very green after taking so many long draws. I find it a bit inconsistent, sometimes it just cuts out after 5-6 seconds but it ready when you have recovered, others there is a definite cooling off period. Stopping the burning of atomisers is a good thing and until you pointed it out to me I didn't notice any problem, so there really isn't any problem:) I've some new style batteries for the 901 and they cut out after three seconds, that IS a problem.
