I have been using this mod with .30g nickle and japanese cotton for about a month now and have been plagued with carbon buildup on the coil. While the wick does not burn, I believe the temperature of the flavor additive does break down at a much lower temperature, hence the build up of carbon. I believe the carbon buildup on the coils is the chocolate mint flavoring.

So while temp control is good, there is no guarantee that the additives we are adding for flavor don't break down sooner than the glycol or nicotine.

Interesting issue that I never thought of.

I am using a squape, so I can open the build and I use the ceramic tweesers and a cloth to break up and remove the build up and the build seems to last longer, including the vape quality.

Has anyone else run into this?
