Hey everyone! I have been scanning through and reading these forums for a few weeks now. I have learned a lot from the posts and made decisions on what ejuice to buy and what kind of kit to get. I just received my Vapor King XL kit yesterday and although having a few issues with it, I'm liking it. I'm new to vaping, just started about the first week in March and have loved it. My kids love it too because I don't smell like cigarette smoke anymore. I even got my Mom to try it who has been smoking for a loooong time and she is hooked as well! I have tried quitting seriously a couple of times before finding out about PVs (trying to get away from calling it an e-cig). Once was for 6 months and the last time was for 10 months while I was pregnant with my youngest. Even though both those times when I started back up, I didn't even WANT the cigarette, but it was like I had to have it and I hated it. I'm so glad to have found this much healthier and safer method.

From one Newbie to another, welcome! I also convinced my Mom to try it as well, although I am not having as much success keeping her using her PV.. she keeps purchasing Analogs! You'll have to share your secrets 
Mama is right here Bradder! Thanks to my pushy daughter, I was able to quit 46 years of smoking my life away, literally. I picked up an e-cig and never looked back. I am so hooked on vaping now, I can't imagine going back to the nasty, stinky, unhealthy old way. And this forum is the greatest. 4MyAngels introduced me to here too. I can't wait to see what she gets me into next!
Bradder she is on the site as well, she is Desert Rose and Sissylala I think that my mom was just seriously ready to quit analogs and I introduced her to the PVs at just the right time. She raves about the pvs and is so excited about them.

Good for you, 4MyAngels. I smoked my last analog on 2/9/12, began vaping the same day, and have not looked back since.

Sissylala, I think the secret was she hit me with it at exactly the right time. I had been wanting to quit for so long, but out of fear of repeat failures and going through problems I had at other times, I just wouldn't take the step again. When she let me try her e-cig, I instantly knew that this was the thing I had been looking for. So her secret was timing. Your mom isn't going to switch 100% until she's ready. Just don't give up on her but don't bug her too much either. Moms can be just as stubborn, even more so, than anyone else! Keep letting her know how much you love vaping, how great it is in your life, etc.. Hopefully she'll get there. Congrats to you for changing over too. Wish PVs had been around when I was a lot younger, but we're never too old to change!

I think I'll have to give my Mom my other setup, I think that may help. I know she also wants to quit, or so she says, but I think the fear factor plays into it a lot. Thanks for the info and Good Luck to you both!
A few years ago, my son was vaping and kept trying to get me to try it. I didn't want anything to do with it. I had no idea what it was. I had preconceived ideas that since it wasn't a cigarette it wasn't as good and the biggest thing was I didn't want to try to quit smoking then. Tell your mom she can go back to smoking any time she wants if she doesn't like the PV all the time or she can cut down on analogs and do both. It is so hard and scary to let go. It might help if you introduce her to this forum too. Good luck to you and your mom too!
Yeah timing is everything and even if she uses the PV part time that will cut down on the analogs which is a good thing. My mom and I both still smoked analogs for a short time after we got our PVs. I liked vaping better but just couldn't see throwing out the analogs just yet so had to smoke them up.
Welcome to both of u.....mother and daughter!!! Glad u both made the switch.....I smoked my last analog 2/18/12, started vaping the same day, and sooooo never looked back! And the great thing is, hubby quit with me! . We started out with a few disposables, then bought a fairly cheap starter kit. We shared batteries for a few days, then I told him we each needed a few of our own. I was a 32 year smoker....almost 2 packs a day.....feel sooooo much better now. Can breathe better, smell better, food tastes better.....not so sure that's gna be such a good thing.....taste makes waist! Lol! Anyhow.....we decided on the eGO.....with a couple 510 batteries apiece on the side. Love vaping.....will never go back to analogy!
