Introducing the Bella tank
The Bella tank is a handmade tank, with each tank being unique and a one of a kind. The Bella was designed for ease of use and comfort. These were actually designed for my personal use and I am sharing the balance with the community. This all came about because I was looking for a smaller tank, more compact, that was very comfortable and easy to refill. The Bella has been designed to be able to be used by arthritic hands without struggling. You will never have to worry about a top cap getting stuck and having to pry it off if you follow the instructions. Refills take seconds!
All of our beta testing has shown no leaking at all. This project has been a labor of love, not designed as a business! I simply wanted a good looking tank that was compact and easy to use! Well over six months has gone into the design and testing of these. We wanted them as perfect as could be.
The Bella is balanced and will not be top heavy on a PV. O rings are all non standard types and all the o rings are different models, in order to make use as easy as possible, while still keeping a good seal. Quality rather than cost was our goal. A lot of time and energy has gone into these and we hope you will be pleased with the result. The pictures show the size of the Bella on the Darwin and the Mini Lava Tube.
The Bella tank holds about 2ml of liquid, a Boge carto holds a little over 1ml, so there is a total of around 3ml total. Tubes are polycarbonate and are specially cured to help avoid any cracking issues. However, some juices will crack tanks no matter what you do. There are lists on the forum of the liquids that are known tank crackers.
A cartomizer is not included with your Bella Tank, but can be purchased seperately. Since so many are using different models of cartomizers now and people like their holes in different places, we are not including the cartomizer, as this would have increased the price.
Price for the Bella Tank is $45 shipped, we ask that you limit your purchase to no more than two, so others can share in these.
Extra tubes are 3.50 each
One set of o rings is $3 per set
Prepunched Boge cartomizers LR or Standard $2 each
Purchasing will be thru PM on a first come first serve basis. You may want to make multiple choices in case your first choice is gone. I will try to keep the pictures updated as much as possible so you know what is available!
Pictures of available tanks are listed below.
Bella Tank Instructions
Your tank has come with only the need to install juice and the carto of your choice. The Bella has been made to fit standard 510 cartomizers. Tanks have been cleaned, O rings pre lubricated with PG, except for the inside cartomizer o ring. Using a sharp punch is highly suggested, like the vipvapor punch, as this will not disfigure the cartomizer.
Step 1 - Have a pre punched cartomizer ready to install. Make sure the cartomizer is not deformed by the punching. The cartomizer must be round.
Step 2 - Remove the top cap. This should remove with very little effort! Never force the top cap off by prying with a knife or other device. Since the o rings have been pre lubed, the cap should release with slight pulling/twisting motion. If you are having any trouble removing, tilt upside down so a little liquid can get around the o ring to help lubricate the o ring.
Step 3 - Prefill your cartomizer with liquid. Lubricate the inner o ring with VG, PG, or your liquid. Lubricate the outside metal case of your cartomizer. Leave the little white cap on the cartomizer, or use a drip tip that is no wider than the cartomizer. Push the cartomizer up into the tank, from the bottom going up, careful not to damage the o ring. The white cap or drip tip protects the o rings from being cut by the sharp edges of the cartomizer edge. The most important thing is to lube the outer part of the cartomizer before trying to install. Line up the bottom of the cartomizer with the bottom of the lower cap. It does not have to go all the way up into the top cap! Air flow area is needed.
Step 4 - Fill your tank with liquid, about 2ml, leaving enough space for the top cap, about 1/4".
Step 5 - Take the top cap and lube the o ring. This is critical! Slide the hole in the top cap over the cartomizer, that still has the white cap on it, just to the o ring, so you have a very loose seal. Now tilt the tank so the air bubble is over one of the holes in the cartomizer. Push the top cap all the way on now. With the juice as lubrication, this should click right in without too much effort.
Step 6 - Blow out any excess liquid that got into the cartomizer, or let the tank sit upright for a minute, so the excess liquid can drain out.
Step 7 - Connect the tank to the device of your choice and enjoy.
The Bella tank holds approximately 2ml of liquid. With the cartomizer, you should have a little over 3ml of liquid total.
Always lube o rings!
O rings will swell a bit, so don't panic if you think the fit is too loose. It will tighten up as liquid absorbs into the o rings. This takes only a few minutes.
The Bella tubing has been specially cured to prevent cracking. It is still possible for some liquids to crack the tank, but most liquids are fine in the Bella. However, we suggest caution be taken with known tank cracker liquids. We will be coming out with chemically resistant and crack resistant tubing shortly for those who have liquids that are tank crackers.
The Bella's are hand made from a brittle material and some care needs to be taken with the material. Do not drop on hard tile floors. The Bella was designed to be strong, but a violent drop on a very hard surface could break it. So care should be taken, such as working on a carpeted surface when disassembling.
Because these are handmade, there may be tiny imperfections which are just a normal result of their being handmade. Every Bella is a one of a kind, unique piece.
To clean your Bella tank
Step 1 - Remove the top cap. This should come off without a lot of effort if you have been keeping your o rings lubed.
Step 2 - Remove the cartomizer by simply pressing the threaded end of the cartomizer, on a hard surface. The cartomizer should easily move up, then pull the cartomizer up and out.
Step 3 - To remove the bottom cap, a Sharpie pen is the perfect help. Place the curved bottom end of the Sharpie pen into the tank, on top of the bottom cap, gently but firmly push down. It is wise to do this into a fluffy towel, just in case the cap goes flying. The towel will catch the bottom cap, protecting it.
Step 4 - Wash all parts with normal kitchen soap and water, then dry.
Step 5 - To reassemble, be sure to lubricate the o rings well! Press the tubing over the bottom cap, it will snap into place. If this isn't very easy to do, then lubricate the inside edge of the tubing too. Then follow the setup instructions above.
You will occasionally need to replace your o rings. O rings will wear over time. The Bella does not use standard o rings. Each o ring is different! We tested many o rings and feel the combination we have come up with, gives the best seal without having to struggle when refilling or working with the tank. The Bella was designed with the idea that it would be very easy to use, even for arthritic hands. We have had no leaking at all with any of our beta testers. Comfort was utmost in the design, with the mouthpiece being more of a coronet or vase shape than a ming or pawn shape. We also were trying to achieve a look that was pleasing, along with showing the material well.
If your tank has an acrylic order or taste, we have found that this generally will go away within about 24 hours if there is liquid in the tank. If you do not want to wait, below is a suggested cleaning that will remove any odor faster. The method below is from a forum member and only a suggestion. We just let the liquid sit in the tank until the odor is gone and have found this to be the easiest method.
Rinse tank, rub down the parts with 6 drops of (Menthol Concentrate) all over the tank. Soak in VG Let sit for a few hours, shaking occasionally. Rinse off the parts, Soak in Spirits for a few hours, shaking occasionally. Rinse off all parts, Dry.
We will shortly have the crack free tubing and replacement o rings available. We hope you enjoy your new unique, one of a kind, tank!
