DO NOT fill upside down..it will flood and juice will pour out. The seal does have a fill hole in it to use the syringe and that is what I used.

EDIT- Actually that might be an air hole as there is 1 on each side of the seal and they are pre-punched all the way through.

you can fill the top coil however you like

false. tried filling these with a fork. didnt work.

HA gotta freeze your juice in tiny cubes to be able to use the fork fill method

Mini review on my first one.

Takes a little break in to get full flavor from it, not much though, something like 15 to 20 drags.

I have not layed it on its side so i cant tell you about leaking yet.

What i can tell you is that this first wicks too well. I'm getting leaking down the center tube. It's either over wicking and then dripping into the center tube or its condensation. I used the soft white rubber top seal they each have preinstalled in them, think your standard carto, and i notice quite a lot of condensation. I didnt use the whistle tip cause it was smashed in the packaged from some rough handling by usps.

I'm going to refill another one and use a normal drip tip and see if i get the same leaking down the center. I'll also try stove piping the one i have filled and see if it goes away as well.

Flavor is nice and warm like a fluxo, plenty of vapor production. The cup seal looks identical to the old fluxo cup seal so the old mod tips on those may very well apply with these.

My experience with the 1st Phx top coil was not good. For some reason it flooded and I had to blow it out several times. I decided to put it aside and figure out why it wasn't peforming well another day. The 2nd one I tried has been working pretty well. The vapor production is great but the flavor is not as strong as I expected but it was a lot cleaner than than any of the Fluxos. I will say the 2nd Phx performed a LOT better out of the box than any of the Fluxos. I haven't moded it and I am not getting dry hits! The draw on the top coil is a lot tighter than the bottom coil. So far I like the bottom coils the most even though the vape is a lot cooler than the top coils.

I got a bit of leaking when I left the first one I opened as well... I'm suspecting that it is coming in through the wick slots or possibly ( not as likely since it also gurgled a bit ) the fill holes.

Still, after only having just used one so far... I'm reluctant to go through and list the +'s and -'s I've seen on this one unit. I will go into one other issue I had on this one because I also had it with the bottom coil version... and I was able to solve it on the TC.... it is what I was calling a "hot vape" simply because I didn't know what else to call it. To describe that some... it is a harsh vapor that sort of feels like it burns the throat... so it isn't like a dry hit but similar in some ways but has flavor instead of a nasty taste.

I started getting that after going through around a 1/4 of the fill... so when I got home, I emptied the remaining liquid and rinsed it out. When I started doing a dry burn to finish the cleanup... I noticed that the coils were all crammed together. I finished with the dry burn and then took a needle to the coils so I could get a bit of a gap inbetween each coil. I went ahead and trimmed out the wick slots in the silicone cap just in case it was restricting the juice. Afterword, I reassembled everything and then refilled.

I've now gone through a complete fill and the adjustments really made a difference. The "hot vape" is completely gone and I was actually getting a lot of vapor like I expect a CE2 to make... The only other minor issue is with flavor... it's muted compared to other CE2's I've used.

All of the above is way to preliminary... it only says what I have seen on one unit and as most of us know... I need to see how the other units perform before saying anything I mentioned is an issue or not.

25:39 later... despite the title, it's bottom coil specific and hardly a how-to.

so the first 10 minutes where he filled a top coil and vapes it isnt considered filling the top coil?? lol

ok either way ill be dropping help videos hopefully by later tonight or tomorow as i settle in.

i really wish i can be there with some of you becuase i simply dont have these issues and pack after pack and carto of bottom and top after another with dan and i testing them and it all has been issue free. using tribeca, using kbv, using crystal, using liqua.
Hey that sounds like a great idea bad. You can travel the world helping us with our clearo issues. You will have without a doubt the very best CS in the industry. I'm sure this would be very cost effective too.

What is this little clear o-ring he refers to. The first one I opened did not have one so I opened the rest and none of them have it. Could this be the reason some of us are geting the dreaded gurgle? I am going to trim the endcap that comes in all of them and make a o-ring out of it. I will do this later today and will repost and let everyone know if it changes anything or not.

he had betas, they where sent out o many reviewers and were tested heavily.

his also had white mp, we switched it to same as phoenix.

and im tyring to replicate gurgling, it just aint happening for us, both I and dan have been testing one after another.

what you might want to do, is after you fill it and put it together, blow out hard, dab off any juice on bottom, and then vape.

So how do the top coil phoenix rate compared to the fluxomizers? Just looking at them I see they have no exposed wires, but the ceramic cup is further down the tube than the fluxomizers and with them you can just stick a drip tip on them and get rid of the middle seal entirely, thus ensuring great wicking and a closer to the mouth coil which I would think would improve flavor. Do they have better wicks or heating coil?

Update: The 1st Phx top coil I had issues with yesterday has leaked onto my counter over night.

2012-06-07-06.33.00_r.jpg

When I get home from work I will take it apart to figure out what caused this to happen. The 2nd one I used is leak free so the 1st one is just a factory defect.
