I got this today (Fri afternoon), and I ordered it Wednesday evening. I am really liking this thing.
There is a lot of the technical mumbojumbo that I wont be able to give any useful info on, but the Legacy still rocks IMO. The build quality of the Icon is solid. The Legacy takes it up another notch. The screw threadings are THICK...you'd have to be pretty talented to strip them. The outer tube is pretty light considering it is steel, which is nice given the 18650 battery is not light at all and so the unit with the battery in it is not overwhelmingly heavy. The switch action takes what came from the Icon and Prodigy and went a few steps further. It is smoother, easier to engages, and easy to lock/unlock with your pinky, which I cannot do with my Icon and always wish that I could. The finish is great. It is an anti-fingerprint matte, and it looks good and is not slippery.
But my favorite thing about the Legacy is the tube design itself. I initially stayed away from a mod with a larger battery because of size...engaging a large mod with a bottom button is hard for me as I have medium to small hands. The Legacy is notched, to allow those with smaller hands to hold it as if the notch was the top. In that regards, the form factor for your hand then becomes the same in length as the Icon...it is very comfortable. I have spent hours reading up on mods and I am yet to know of another to do this...and it is ingenious. In fact, it even reduces the perceived weight. So this is huge...below are pics to show what I mean.
I am vaping at a standard 3.7 using a 2.0 ohm Boge carto and Joyce atty direct drip, both 510 (couldnt find a Kick). I am using the Red AW 18650 with four washers added to compensate for the size difference. Thus far, this has been great even without the Kick. The throat hit and smoke production is a good bit more than my Icon. Where as the throat hit would fade a bit after the first few hits on the Icon, it does not here with the Legacy. The larger battery also seems to slow the drop-off of power. There is a small amount of wiggle room in between the battery and tube, but you have to shake it like crazy to get it to do this (and I assume this is needed given it takes both Tenergy and AW IMRs, which are probably slightly different in size).
Yeah, so overall this thing is amazing and you should definitely buy one if you think you want one and are unsure. The price of it is ridiculously low. I couldn't decide between this and few others and so I purchased a couple of them. This is the first one I have gotten and I am very, very happy with it. I plan to play with a few diff cartos and hopefully find a Kick soon to try as well. For 3.7 using a 18650 without a Kick, has anyone noticed differences in battery life between the Tenergy and AW? I have been told the AW does better than its lower mAh rating implies and it is often labeled as "high drain". I have also read many good things about the newer formula AW Protected 2600 mah...can we safely use that in this and has anyone had a chance to compare?
