Hi,

Just got a legacy with kick. I have a question on setting up the button. I have finally gotten the unit to work reliably with 2 washers and a lock washer as per the instructions, and making contact with my rba by losening the top pin to contact my rba positive post.

So, the question I have is regarding the lock mechanism on the button. When in the locked position, the lock portion will continue to spin and is somewhat loose. Is this typical? I would have expected it to tighten and not continue to spin.

Is there something that I have still not set up properly? I did have some rough threads on the button and the final thread was hanging/fell off. Is that the cause of the spinning?

Thanks

I'm using the Legacy with a Kick and an extension tube for an 18650 ... my switch also is set up with two regular washers and a lock washer. While spinning the switch to the locked position, it does sometimes continue to spin in the locked position (no worries, it IS locked), but this is related to the depth of the threaded section of the switch lock, which is a little less than the thickness of two regular washers and a lock washer. The switch will still securely spin shut (locked) and open (unlocked), but with this particular setup, it may continue to spin in the locked position ... nothing to worry about. I think, if you are bothered by this, you can fix it by adjusting the mix of regular and lock washers to give the switch a shorter "throw"; I did this once, just for chuckles, but I didn't like the shorter throw and the lock spin doesn't bother me at all ... hope that helps!

I will say that I am a bit less enthralled with the device than I was anticipating. It vapes fine, but the reason I bought it was to have an impressive quality mechanical device that will be there for me forever.

The button and lock are not the smooth solid experience that I anticipated. The threads are a but rough throughout and and the tube finish is not consistent/slightly wavy for about about an inch half way round the tube

other minor irritations include the battery cap unscrewing when trying to unscrew the Burton lock, and the top cap unstrung when removing the atomizer.

I have found that the Legacy works MUCH better if you completely disassemble the switch and apply Noalox to all metal surfaces, as well as the threads on the tube and top cap. This makes a major difference, and if you exercise the threads a few times to work the Noalox in, they become—as PBusardo would put it—buttery, buttery smooth.

Seriously, with all mechanical mods—especially those with a Kick inside—a weekly cleaning and application of Noalox is just part of the normal maintenance. It only takes about 5–10 minutes to do a really thorough job, but it's worth it in performance and longevity. With all mechanicals, and with the Kick especially, a clean, solid ground path is essential.

Hummm ... well, that's starting to sound like a QC issue. If you haven't already, I'd put in a support ticket. On my Legacy, the original 510 connection in the top cap was not plumb with the body ... it was only out by a degree or so, but the result was that whatever was on top had a visible list to one side ... PS did eventually make it right with a replacement cap, but it took a couple of months. Apparently, they have the Legacy made elsewhere, and the machining quality (and the availability of replacement parts) seems to vary from lot to lot ...

Don't get me wrong, I really like my Legacy and when the Mini tube becomes available for sale I intend to get one, but I can't honestly say that the machining quality is at ProVari or GG levels ... but it doesn't cost nearly as much, either.
