Well, one of the two 2.0 ohm cartos i got just died in about a week. That alone is good enuf reason not to go with such a LR carto. my supposition was that, since 98% my cartos, with multiple cleanings, become unusably clogged before the atomizer fails, i might as well try LR cartos to find a happier middle ground. my supposition appears to be wrong as far as the 2.0 is concerned. Perhaps it is just a testatament to the quality of SI cartos. I may still try the experiment with a carto with an average 2.3 or 2.4 ohm.

I really enjoy vaping with SI products but, like a junkie trying to get higher, i want to see how good it can get. I can't blame SI for sticking with a business plan that doesn't vary much from providing quality products for the 808 vaper. I think the 808 design is inherently superior to the 510, although the 510 offers options like dripping, tanks and variable volt. That is why i have resisted trying the 510, or even attachments with an adapter. That has become harder to resist now that there is at least one VV option available for under $30.00. For now, i'm sticking with the 808.

SI pioneered the 808 market with the sealed batt, which is quickly becoming the standard in the industry. I would like see them pioneer the 808 further with a VV option, atomizer/dripping etc.

Perhaps they could also experiment with some new flavors, in a smaller sample size, or at least some higher VG options. Admittedly, there are plenty of other vendors who offer those options. However, I would prefer to meet all my vaping needs at one vendor if possible, and SI is a great vendor.

I just want to comment on the durability of an X2 battery. While I haven't owned it for much over a week, it has proven to be pretty durable to me.

Yesterday wasn't one of my better days. I was making marinara sauce for dinner, manacotti, and realized I had forgotten to add fresh, sauteed garlic. So I sighed, broke out another skillet, diced and sauteed some up. I was vaping with an X2, 650 mah, clearo and RY4 the whole time. When the garlic was ready I picked up the skillet to scrape it into my pot of sauce which was simmering away very nicely at this point. At the same time I took a drag off the X2 and when I let up it fell out of my mouth (Yeah, the exact reason I normally use 78mm batteries when my hands are busy, but the X2/clearo/RY4 are soooo good). Anyhow, the X2 dropped, hit the edge of the stove charger cap down, bounced up in the air, completely clearing the top of my sauce pan, and landed with a "plop" horizontially right in the middle of my sauce sitting on the front burner! It didn't go completely under, my sauce is really thick, but it was easily half submuerged in simmering marinara. After a few choice words, I gritted my teeth, reached in a grabbed it with my fingers stinging. I wiped it down with a damp sponge, then a clean paper towel. I should have taken the tip off and rinsed it because the first drag tasted like a mix of marinara, garlic and RY4 (maybe a new flavor choice?), but other than that it just kept right on going. In the mean time the simmering sauce increased in temperature and splashed all over the stove to add to the splash from the X2. Just one of those days I guess. Oh, I did switch back to a 78mm for the rest of my cooking chores.

Excellent story! I could even taste the marinara.

This is my feeling as well. And why may of us hope SI changes their mind and introduces a VV X2. They say they aren't interested, but there are so many who would buy one I don't see why they wouldn't. I guess time will tell.

Horizontal coils don't work well at higher voltages, they tend to give a brunt juice or dry atty flavor.
That's why SI doesn't offer them.

Just the thought of it reminds me of learning how to drive a stick (never got there - SF hills are a PITA). I prefer to just put it in "Drive" and go!

Imagine has posted on more than one occasion that they want to keep everything simple and universal. A vv machine would not fall into that philosophy.

I'm with you cindy. I like it "put it in drive and go aspect".
I have tried the LR heads on the vivi nova to see what the big deal with warmer vape is and you know what, I like it best with the 2.8ohm heads and occasionally the 2.4

I recently received a free brand new provari and don't even use it. I tried it once and went right back to my x2. I trying to decide if I should sell it or just save it in my drawer. The only thing i have used it for is to test ohms on cartos. It is sooooo big

No ones everyone has to buy one. If you wouldn't need use the feature, then there's no need to purchase one. But, there are many of us that would like to see one introduced so we could give it a try.

I agree with you. I'm just telling you she has repeatedly posted.
