I can't say how wise it would be to spend the same amount, then again you can try out a lot equipment with that kind of monthly budget, if it is that. Actually you'd be hard pressed to spend that month after month without having to put an addition on your place to store everything.:D I'd say do some research, try a few things, keep what works well for you, with some back ups of course. After that if it turns into a hobby for you, so be it, better than smoking.

Before quitting cigarettes, I was spending $280+ per month just for cigarettes. Thinking about it now leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Would it be wise to spend the same amount or more on ecigs? I don't want any negative attention, but I also don't like feeling limited. I can see this becoming a hobby.

If your intention is to buy 1,000 eGo batteries and CE4s, then no... that's not wise.

On the other hand, if you want to buy a nice, genuine mech mod, or RTA/RDA every month or so - perhaps invest in some premium juice or a higher quality DMM, then yes, by all means, drop a few hundred a month.

I started to get off analogs and save money. But then I have all this extra money lieing around so I got into the hobby part. Haven't looked back and I'm still spending less a month than i was on cigs. But yeah I always getting negativity from none converts saying I ain't saving money then what's the point...
The point my dim headed simpleton is iv cut the tar, arsenic, actual smoke and other harmful chemicals out of my life...
I mean seriously if I was to put what is in cigarettes into say weed.. I would get quite a substantial amount of jail time

In general, YES!! Any amount you spend on e-cigs vs analogs is totally worth it, both for your health, for the recreational / hobby aspect, and for the extra money you WILL be saving once you find the setup that you enjoy. I prob wouldn't just go out and buy a bunch of gear without direction... I would start with a variable voltage / variable wattage device, and find a few different tank set-ups (Kanger is a personal fav for starting out) and possibly a dripping style atty. Get a feel for what you like, what works for you, and then get familiar with the "re-building" side of things if that's of interest. Once you have some experience and maybe you decide that you need/want more vapor than you can get from VV/VW then look at mechanical mode and rebuildable attys /tanks. As always, do research and take all precautions to BE SAFE. If you aren't sure ask! There are many good people around here that can and will help you on your journey.

I try to spend on e-cigs each month only as much as I spent in a week of smoking (2 packs/day @$7/pack--so about $100/mo). In the beginning I spent a lot more than that; now, I sometimes spend less or more--mostly on juice and tanks/coils. I am not one of those folks who is going to build things; more I am one of those folks who is going to buy what I need. In the end, I don't really care how the budget goes because I will find something to spend that $$ on (I should save it, LOL. What I care about is not smoking and I am willing to spend whatever is necessary (or un-) to do that.

I completely agree! As far as smoking went, I never had much to show for it. Vaping however, the possibilities seem endless.

Juice, Mechs, and Rebuildables are definitely what I'm gunning for. Thanks for the laugh, the feedback and the support. I appreciate it.

BTW: What are DMMs?

Wise is quitting smoking. The rest is up to you.
